Nils is an extremely knowledgeable and accomplished instructor. He has extraordinary patience and excellent teaching skills. Coming from an adult student with high expectations, Nils has constantly delivered instructional value far beyond beyond what my paid "app" lessons were able to teach me. I highly recommend you give Nils a shot if you want to take your guitar playing to the next level.

Nils is extremely knowledgeable and explains concepts thoroughly and patiently. He’s very much mastered both teaching and performing his craft and is equal parts artistic and technicality minded, a balance most of my previous creative instructors lacked, and one I believe plays an integral part in teaching a craft well.

I've been taking lessons with Jonah for 6 years now (4th-10th grade) and the experience has been amazing! With Jonah's help, I have learned so much about the guitar, both in technical aspects and in simply "jamming." Jonah is always very patient, kind, encouraging, and his passion for music very clearly shows in his teaching. Every lesson I take is very enjoyable, and I always come out of the lessons feeling like I have made good progress on whatever it was we were working on that week. Whether you wish to learn about complex music theory and lead guitar (like I am currently doing), or just want to learn how to play a few songs, Jonah is a perfect choice as a teacher. Additionally, Jonah is very communicative and flexible with timing. Whenever I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson for whatever reason, Jonah responds to my messages quickly and is almost always able to find another day that week for our lesson to take place on. 5 stars, fantastic teacher, I highly recommend Jonah!

Johah is very patient and flexible. He identifies and is willing to work on techniques, such as barre chords, in a way that finally helps me to stop the buzzing! I am looking forward to working with him.

My 15 year old son has been taking virtual guitar lessons with Jonah and has loved it. Jonah is a great teacher who really gets on my son’s level and connects. It’s a fun thing for him to do during this strange year.

I am an experienced session player of about 5 years, specializing in classic rock, jazz, blues and pop! I have been playing guitar for 11 years and was self taught up until I studied music theory and performance at Los Angeles Pierce College. There I also played in the jazz ensemble and was a part of the choir where I played in multiple student concerts on and off campus, including at USC. Since then I have played lead and rhythm guitar in many bands around LA and released one album and two singles. My favorite artists include Phoebe Bridgers, St. Vincent, Jackson Browne, Tom Petty and Talking Heads. I like working with people who are eager to learn and willing to ask questions to make sure they get what they want out of my lessons.

About Jacob

I’ve been playing guitar for about 11 years. I started out self-taught and decided to take it a step further in college with theory classes and playing in the jazz band. I grew up on classic rock, (Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Jackson Browne) and nowadays I like to keep up with indie rock

Almost all forms popular music in America got it's start in the blues. Musical genres such as both jazz and rock have their roots deeply in the blues. Some blues songs, such as Stormy Monday by T. Bone Walker were using basic blues chord patterns, but then on the 6th measure of each verse, T Bone would throw in a standard jazz chord progression. G9, Am7, Bm7, Bb13, Am7, D7b9, G9, followed by C9 back to the G9 and then the verse would end on a dominant 5th chord with a #9th, [D7#9]. This is where the 2 genres sometimes started to really mix with each other. Blues is the foundation where this all began. Rock and roll on the other hand, stayed closer to older and simpler blues chord progressions and licks, but played the tempos far quicker than a blues song would play, and the rhythm section would also play a lot more aggressively than a blues band would. Early rock and roll stayed very close to the original and more simple chord progressions of the earlier blues songs.

I have been seeing Jeff for about 3 years. I was an old folkie - with no time to practice - for about 50 years, but finally my wife bought me some lessons when I retired. Hit it off with Jeff immediately. He really knows the music I want - which in my case is classic rock - but he can do pretty much anything you need. Still give him 5 stars!

I immediately felt at ease with Jeff and it did not take him long to figure me out and point me in the right direction. Looking forward to many more lessons with him. I wish I lived here so it could be on a more regular basis. But happy with what I CAN get. Thanks Jeff!

My Aunty is turning 80 this weekend and I decided to learn how to play Happy Birthday on the ukulele as a surprise for her. Jeff not only helped me accomplish my goal but also got me started on other songs as well. His patience and enthusiastic personality made the lessons not ony productive but personable as well!!! 2 thumbs up to an awesome instructor!!!!!

"Dave is very knowledgeable and will work with you in any genre or style of music. As an older student I felt totally comfortable with Dave from the very first notes struck. I would highly recommend Dave to anyone wishing to improve their guitar skills....but dont expect to be playing like Clapton immediately!
My only issue is the long drive from Vero Beach to his studio. Something to take into consideration."

"Ryan has definitely opened up my perspective with regard to learning my instrument and "hearing" tonal options for music I like to play. I'm a working Dad with very limited time for lessons and practice, so an online learning platform has worked best for me. Ryan has been very accommodating and flexible. More than that, he's been extremely patient with my learning style. In addition to opening up my instrument for me, he's fostered a passion for learning guitar and a taste for new music that I may not have listened to/learned otherwise. I love music and because of Ryan, I've found a very heartfelt, almost tangible, passion for playing it. Ryan...thank you!!"

"After messing around on the guitar for years I'm looking for a teacher who can go back and take me through all the building blocks of music, including scales, chords, and formations. After just one jam-packed 60 min lesson with Eric I know he's the teacher that can do just that. I feel like I've already learned more than I could in weeks of doing it on my own.

Super pumped to reignite my guitar learning with Eric as I know I'll be able to make progress faster with the proper guided direction.

Ready to learn to play blues guitar? This lesson from guitar teacher James W. is the perfect place to start... What is a shuffle, anyway? Here's an intro by Austin, TX guitar teacher Samuel B...   In order to properly respect and understand both the theory and structure of ANY kind of American music, it's essential to be able to play the blues.
