Each lesson is designed on the level of the student's ability from beginner to advanced. Rock, R&B, funk, jazz, blues, POP and country music. I like to use song learning as a vehicle to sharpen your skills. Learning skills through songs is more fun for beginners. More advanced students will work on everything from theory, reading, harmony; and how you can use scales and arpeggios in a number of ways over several different styles of music.
About Stephen
Learning the guitar is a fun, yet, challenging experience. Having an instructor guide you through the process makes learning easier and more efficient. The internet provides a wealth of information but can not interact with you and help your specific needs. Many guitar players get frustrated and give up. Getting the encouragement and expertise of an instructor who has been there before greatly enhances chances of success.
My style of teaching is founded on fun with the instrument and guiding students to real music situations. Many students come to me with an incomplete set of skills. These (self taught) players have several basic fundamental holes in their playing.
It is also important to me that students have a basic knowledge of music theory. This way, they can enjoy the gui

He is also active in the industry, so the skills he teaches are current.
I take lessons with Russ online through Skype for EDM production in FL Studio. He is always punctual and promptly communicates if anything comes up. His teaching style carefully balances the need to provide guidance, while allowing freedom for individual artistic development. Every week, I start a composition or track analysis project that applies what I've learned in previous lessons, and I will submit it to Russ to discuss things that went well and things to work on in the future. In this way, you are not just being lectured, but you are actually learning to collaborate with an exceptional musician. I've personally experienced how constant application and feedback facilitates rapid learning.
He certainly is a serious musician, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a fun personality. He is engaging and inspirational.
I would, without reservation nor hesitation, highly recommend Russ to anyone who is interested in professional music production.

My teaching style is very in depth, but laid back. I base my lessons off the students' specific needs and abilities rather than a set curriculum. My lessons are also different in that they prepare you for all styles of music rather than one or two genres. Overall you will learn at an exponential rate. I go into details and principles that are truly the fundamentals of learning music for any instrument. But I will most importantly, do my absolute best to make learning music an easy and stress-free process.
About Jared
Studying piano and guitar at a young age, Jared has also played numerous piano recitals and recorded various piano parts and compositions for studios/clients throughout LA. As well as guitar and piano, he teaches and performs mandolin, ukulele, banjo, and bass. He also has writing credits for bands throughout the

I offer a variety of teaching styles to fit wherever you're at. If you're starting from the beginning, we can start with chord and scale basics and get you on the way to playing some simple songs. If you're further along, and your goal is to play specific songs; I'm happy to learn them in advance so that we can spend our time learning the proper way to play your favorite songs just like the original recordings. I learn by ear as well as read music, so just about any song is achievable that you pick. I have several guitars and amps in my rehearsal space at home for you to play, and I can point you to some great chord and theory books so that you can practice throughout the week in between lessons. I have taught students from beginner level to advanced. My hope is that we can go over the chord and theory that will help you understand and advance on your instrument as a lifelong player; and I also want to focus on the styles that inspire you so as to make learning a fun experience!

I look forward to meeting!

He is extremely talented, very gifted, and really really good at teaching. He excels in breaking down a concept, or helping me figure out the right way to play a chord, or a lick. He has also proved that he has an amazing ear, helping me learn a song (that he's never heard before), by breaking it down, and de-constructing it.
I am very happy with him being my teacher, and I look forward to learning a lot from him.

Blues Guitar Lesson Reviews from Students
Students are raving about their Blues Guitar instructors on TakeLessons. Check out some of these recent reviews.
Kimberly has a real focus on and talent for teaching. My lessons are tailored to meet my interests. A large part of the lesson is devoted to learning her method for blues soloing--at least 5 approaches to improvisation and comping. After several years, I've come to see how these approaches interweave, complement each other and have become an intuitive part of my musical vocabulary.
Also, because I expressed an interest, part of the lesson involves sight reading, learning blues and jazz theory, developing rhythmic playing sense, and learning a few favorite solos. Kimberly has an amazing ability to tab out and teach any song you give her. Which leads to the best part--after 6 months I was invited to play with one of her ensemble classes. While I was absolutely petrified with fear at the beginning, this has turned into one of the highlights of my week every week. It is just downright fun! It's a safe and forgiving environment where you can make mistakes and learn, or try things out that might flop, or turn into something cool. Every teacher and guitar magazine article all point to the need to play with other musicians to develop your skills and this is where Kimberly Allison really delivers. I feel that I could now sit in with other musicians and contribute.
I give my highest recommendation for taking lessons with Kimberly."
