If you are ready to take your guitar skills SERIOUSLY then stop wasting time and money on teachers who don't fully understand the instrument themselves. My name is Russell Steedle and I have been playing guitar professionally for 20 years and teaching music and producing records for over 10. I have worked with artists such as Mac Miller, Sean Kingston, Lifehouse, Disney's Caityln Taylor Love and have composed music to 100s of your favorite TV shows! Want to learn to shred? produce? write? dive into theory?
Russell Steedle is an American Platinum-Selling record producer / songwriter / and guitarist based in Los Angeles, CA. With his first #1 Billboard record under his belt and previous clients such as Mac Miller, Sean Kingston, and Red Velvet, Russ has found endorsements and support from major music companies such as Fender and Dean Markley strings, Russell has toured the US opening for National Artists playing for audiences as large as 30,000.
In 2012, Russ signed with Mach 1 Music and learned the ropes of the music industry as a part of a team selling over 19 million records worldwide. Soon after, Russ joined TV/Filmsound powerhouse “Signature Tracks” (signature - tracks.com) through which he has produced over 650 songs for networks such as Disney, MTV, VH1, BET, ABC, NBC, CBS, and many many more
Currently Russ performs with and p
roduces talent from all over the world including Grammy Award winning artists and songwriters The Jackie Boyz, Chart Topping Artist Sean Kingston, Disney's Caitlyn Taylor Love and many more!
Russ is a truly exceptional individual and very knowledgeable in all aspects of music theory, production and the industry. Not only is he an great at what he does, but he can also relate and impart that knowledge onto others - a skill that is surprisingly rare among high-caliber performers. The price per lesson seems higher than average at first glance, but I feel that the speed and amount of knowledge you acquire per dollar is actually lower than that of other instructors. Really.
He is also active in the industry, so the skills he teaches are current.
I take lessons with Russ online through Skype for EDM production in FL Studio. He is always punctual and promptly communicates if anything comes up. His teaching style carefully balances the need to provide guidance, while allowing freedom for individual artistic development. Every week, I start a composition or track analysis project that applies what I've learned in previous lessons, and I will submit it to Russ to discuss things that went well and things to work on in the future. In this way, you are not just being lectured, but you are actually learning to collaborate with an exceptional musician. I've personally experienced how constant application and feedback facilitates rapid learning.
He certainly is a serious musician, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a fun personality. He is engaging and inspirational.
I would, without reservation nor hesitation, highly recommend Russ to anyone who is interested in professional music production.

Encouraged and inspired my daughter's love for music. Taught guitar lessons in a fun engaging way that also challenged her creativity. Great teacher!
Kenny has been playing guitar since the age of 14, has received awards and grants from the Canada Council, and is an instructor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His approach to teaching guitar helps students learn quickly and maximize musical potential.
I'm a guitar player and singer songwriter from Montreal, Canada, have been living in Chicago for seven years, and have been playing electric, dobro, and acoustic guitar in the studio and on the stage for 20+ years. I play fingerstyle in a variety of tunings and am also a proficient flatpicker covering folk, bluegrass, electric, blues, and country picking techniques.
Whether you are a songwriter looking to improve your basic skills to perform a wider range of material, or a flatpicker looking to refine your improvisation skills or learn fingerstyle and open tunings, I can help you learn the correct approach to help bring your playing to a new level.
We all have within us, the ability to be an excellent player. ...

I took weekly lessons with Kenny back when he was in Montreal and it was a great learning experience. He was not only open to working on the songs that I wanted but also introduced me to new and exciting stuff that have really broadened my horizons. Kenny is not only super knowledgeable and talented but above all is a great communicator and teacher who makes you feel comfortable learning new techniques and material in a stimulating and exciting way. Highly recommended!
Any style at any experience level, I can help you be the player you want to be and learn more about your favorite players and genres of music.
My name is Tim C and I'm a music teacher at North Andover High School. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016, majoring in Guitar Performance. I am well-educated and well-versed in many styles including blues, funk, R&B, classical, and rock. My only goal in teaching my students is to assist them in reaching their own goals and accomplishing what they want to achieve as a musician or guitar player.
Together we will play and begin to understand a multitude of styles and techniques, the role of the guitar pickup and their many styles, uses, and purposes, the amplifier and how it is part of your instrument, and how to utilize effect pedals in your guitar signal chain.
If you're a beginner, we're going to focus most specifically on your guitar playing abilities, including your rhythm, ear training, we'll learn chords, basic fretboard theory and how to fully utilize your entire guitar neck.
If you're a more advanced player, we'll focus on more advanced rhythms and ear training, picking techniques, fingerpicking, more advanced harmony and chord voicings, reading music, extended chords, and getting into effect pedals, and which ones to utilize for yourself.
I have found the best approach to doing this is by selecting music that you like to listen to and play, as it is much more fun to practice something that you enjoy rather than doing busywork to build skill.
Hi, I'm Tyler! Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, I am the son of a band director. That being said, I have literally been involved in music since I was an infant! I played trombone, bass trombone, and bass guitar all the way through high school, and went to New Mexico State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music, and then moved to Los Angeles, California, where I received my Master's Degree at California Institute of the Arts, where I also learned to play the other brass instruments, as well as composition and arranging.
Throughout my career, I've been able to do some great things with music. I have been able to travel Europe and work with one of the world's finest brass instrument manufacturers, Michael Rath, I have toured Colombia with my University's Wind Ensemble, I've recorded at Capitol Records in Hollywo
od, and have written and premiered numerous works for orchestra and rock ensemble, trombone choirs, and even a duet for quarter tone trumpets!
I have an affinity for modern and avant garde music, but am well-versed in all genres and musical styles! I also like to play in and record rock and roll bands, I've amassed a quite a few years of recording experience as well. From gypsy bands to thrash metal groups, I've recorded a wide array of music.
I also taught in the classroom from grades k-12 for a few years before following my true passion of teaching privately. I love to reach you at your own level and work to grow with you from there.
My goal is simple: I simply want you to come to love music as much as I do, if not more! I strive to give you the tools to become a successful musician in your own right, and I work to keep my lessons fun and engaging.
Tyler arrived early, spent lots of time with my unruly daughter, and kept her on track! He's a good combination of fun/playful but also has a natural authority so that my daughter actually listens to his instruction. Well done and thank you Tyler!

Great first lesson - looking forward to the next one.

I feel like I learned a lot in an hour and he really helped me find an anchor point that I can go back to if I am stuck on a note. I realized that he went over every proven method that I learned throughout my experiences from elementary school to highschool and then added on to them by explaining how these methods help. He even showed me methods usually taught to college musicians.
The reason I always believed in private lessons is because no matter how few or how many you take, the learning process gets expedited immensely.
I definitely would recommend this teacher for learning a brass instrument.
Hey! My name is Jamie Bekyarovich. I’ve been playing Guitar since I was 11 years old and have loved every second of it. Although I’m primarily a rock musician, I take pride in being able to play and teach many different musical genres from Rock N’ Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Classical, Blues, Acoustic, Pop, and Funk. I went to a music oriented high school, I’ve played in a multitude of different bands. I also have a diploma in applied music from Mohawk College’s Contemporary Music program where I studied Jazz guitar, music production, and teaching methods. I have 6 years of teaching experience including freelance work, and institutional work, as well as 8 years experience recording and mixing music.
In my experience teaching it’s become completely clear that every student is different. They learn differently, have different goals, mus
ical tastes, aspirations, and all face different obstacles and challenges. For this reason i do not teach a standard curriculum. I like to customize each student’s learning experience to best suite their individual needs. I find that by doing this, students retain their interest and love for music, they start setting and accomplishing goals, and as a result become not just a more confident musician, but a more confident individual. Once students start setting goals for themselves and accomplishing things they thought they never could, they begin to realize that you can do anything you put your mind to as long as you work hard, believe in yourself, and never give up.
Guitar lessons are all online and accepted from anywhere in the world (English speaking only), Im currently working on setting up multiple camera angles for the best possible experience.
For best experience weekly lessons are recommended.
[ Make Up Lessons: Every now and then I may need to reschedule one of our lessons around a gig or recording session, but I try my very best to avoid doing so. I’m also understanding when students need to reschedule a lesson]
Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
[Things to think about before our first guitar lesson (I will be asking you these questions either before or during our first lesson)
1. Who are some of your favourite musicians/bands? - What are some of your favourite songs? 2. Do you have any experience playing guitar? 3. What are your aspirations? (Hobbyist? Rock Star? Campfire Guitarist?) 4. What would you like to be able to play on the guitar by this time next year?]
Things to think about before our first Pro Tools lesson.
1. Do you have any experience recording music? 2. Do you have any experience inside of Pro Tools. 3. Find 3 recordings(songs) where you absolutely love the production.
My 12 year old daughter took guitar lessons from Jamie as part of the Mohawk College student/teacher after school program. She had no experience when she started and after 4 months she was already playing along to her favourite Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift songs. She always looked forward to her weekly guitar lessons!

Jamie's been coming to my house once a week for the last 8 months. I used to play guitar when i was a teenager and decided to take it up again as a hobby since my kids have gone off to University and i have some free time available to me.
At first we worked on relearning the chords i had forgotten, after a couple of months we started learning some Neil Young and Leonard Cohen songs. Im very pleased, never in my life until now have i been able to play a full song from start to finish!
Thanks Jay - See you on Thursday!

Ive been taking lessons from Jamie for almost 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with the results! When i first approached him for lessons I was already a fairly decent guitarist but i was having an extremely hard time playing and making my own solos, I told him exactly what i wanted to be able to do and he tailored made each lesson to my goals. He helped brake down the process of learning a guitar solo AND improvising my own solos. Some of the areas we covered we're technique, theory, lifting solos by ear, and how to execute musical phrases with complete confidence.
10/10 would recommend! ...This guy's a beast!
I am a recent Berklee College of Music graduate living in Chicago. At Berklee, I was the first rock/metal guitarist to receive the "Jimi Hendrix Award." This award is given to the best guitarist at the school. I've played and studied many styles of music ranging from classical, traditional, blues, country, rock, and metal. Besides teaching, I have a passion for songwriting and performance. Here in Chicago, I am currently playing with various bands and writing my own music. My teaching style is very "goal-oriented," and I will teach students to set short-term goals, medium goals, and then demonstrate to them how reaching the short and medium-term goals leads to accomplishing long-term goals. I envision teaching much like my teachings at Berklee where once my lesson was finished, I only wanted to go home and learn more. If you want to learn multiple styles from someone who is truly passionate about the instrument, I'm your guy!
Hello, my name is Michael! I have been playing guitar since I was 10-years old. Aside from being a teacher, performer, and songwriter, I would define myself as a "guitar nerd" because I love every aspect of playing. I still practice every day and have an insatiable hunger for new opportunities to play and learn. I have an encyclopedic knowledge of metal, rock, blues, country, and guitar. In my spare time, I enjoy writing music and playing more guitar. I graduated from Berklee in 2017, where I received the Jimi Hendrix Award. This is given to the best guitar player in the school. I was the first rock/metal guitar player to do so! I received instruction from world-class teachers such as Joe Stump and Norm Zocher. Besides teaching, I have a passion for songwriting and performance; while in Boston, I played and recorded with the melodic met
al band Black Trip. With Black Trip, I was fortunate enough to open up for such bands as Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Rhapsody of Fire, and Doro. Here in Los Angeles, I am currently teaching, playing with various bands, and working on my band's debut album.
I'm 2 lessons in and so far Michael has been a great teacher. He is exceptionally skilled and has a wealth of knowledge to share, as well as being very good at listening to what I am trying to accomplish and creating well thought out exercises to help me progress. Highly recommended!

Michael has incredible patience with students from beginner to extremely advanced. His excitement about mastering guitar is infectious. He instills confidence in any student and is genuinely thrilled when they achieve their goals. I highly recommend Michael as a teacher.

Hello there! I am a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a degree in jazz guitar. I've played in more bands than I can remember, and have been a professional freelance musician since the age of 16.
I am adept at all contemporary styles, can teach you jazz improvisation, rock improvisation, comping styles of the greats, really whatever you want to learn I can show you. If you are getting ready for auditions I can help with that. Basically I'm your go to guy for most things guitar. If you want to talk pedals, ask how a guy gets a sound I'm your guy.
I have a "music is easy" mantra that really goes to say that all music can be broken down and simplified in concrete ways that make it conceivable to anyone.
I'm 25 and a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a degree in Jazz Guitar performance. I currently work full-time as a freelance musician, I play in wedding/corporate bands, jazz groups, hip-hop bands, funk bands, pop bands, original music projects, and I also run a hip-hop/jazz group. I'm a funny, easy-going guy and I want lessons to be fun and inspiring. With that being said I definitely like to set and accomplish realistic goals with my students, cause why not be the best you can be, right?
My teaching style follows the "Music is Easy" mantra. Basically, I look at it as my job to take the intimidation factor out of music, and let it be what it should be, FUN! It's not to say we won't be learning theory, or getting our skills together, but it is to say that we'll be taking all the fancy lingo and breaking it dow
n for you in concrete practical ways.
In terms of what I teach that really runs the gambit, I teach most styles of contemporary guitar playing, and additionally can teach voice as well. I also have taken extensive marketing classes at the University of Rochester, which means that I can offer some key advise on music business and marketing strategies for your band. I also run my own booking agency, so if you want to talk shop on how to get gigs, which avenues of gigs make the most bread, and other things of that nature, I'm your guy as well!
Hope to hear from you and start some fun learning together!
Blake is a great instructor. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed right away. He went at the pace I needed (glacial) and encouraged me every step of the way. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
March 12, 2019
Blake is a seasoned musician with experience in just about every genre imaginable. Whether it's technique, harmony, theory or aural skills, he can explain any seemingly difficult idea in a concise, logical way. With all the knowledge of a conservatory trained guitarist and gigging musician, he's a down to earth teacher who simply loves music and is passionate about sharing it with his students.
March 11, 2019
Blake is a dedicated teacher who helped me improve right away! I wasn't at all sure what I wanted (or needed) to work on next but he picked up right away what was best for me. So grateful to have worked with him.
"Dave is the best instructor I could have hoped for. As an older beginner, I was not sure how much I could pick up but I have made good progress in the pas
t year with his lessons. Lots of fun, look forward to learning more riffs and songs!"
"Jeff masters the balance of professional knowledge and a great, laid back demeanor. He delivers information in a way I can understand and inspires me to
push myself to be the best musician I can be. I highly recommend working with him, you will make tremendous progress if you follow his practice recommendations."
"Headline: Jared is amazing teacher. Jared has excellent knowledge of music foundations and music theory. Knows styles and genres, knows not only how to
play but create too... And how this style was born. He helps to build habit to do things right - I'm talking about technique - or, in other words - how to use your hands! Same time he's extremely patient.
I'd like to recommend Jared for everyone who want's to learn play guitar (don't look at your age), his teaching approach works great, because he is teaching you and adjust classes for you."
"He was amazing! My son could not be happier. Super great guy and wonderful teacher."
"Stellar. Sergei knows his stuff, is good at figuring out quickly where you are and helping you see a path forward. Super patient and skilled at what he do
es. Recommended for jazz, blues, improv and the basics."
"Going back over a decade, I bought my first real guitar from Greg, an 80s Avila Rhoads. Over the years that followed, Greg taught me quite a bit in the w
ays of repair/maintainence as well as theory/sound scultping. The man is truly an inspiration. From the day his old shop opened, to now, Greg has always been a great teacher."
"Morgan teaches theory from the beginning. Because of that I was able to fill in the gaps in my knowledge and have improved my soloing and riffing a lot."
"Really good demeanor. Knowledgeable. Humorous. Patient. Great first lesson."
"Chris is a great teacher. I met him in group lessons. And now I’m using him for personal lessons. It was a good lesson."
