Everyone responds differently to music, that is why I prepare special lessons for each student. As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.

About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. In July of 2014 Paul became a Steinway Educational partner. In 2008, Paul received a Masters Degree in piano performance from New York University. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

My goal as a teacher is to make students successful in their goals. I work with a variety of people; some of them study music for personal enjoyment and others for their musical career. It is important that my students enjoy what they are playing and for that reason I have a variety of repertoire that they can choose from.
From a lot of experience with beginner piano students, both young and adults, I have been able to find a regimen of piano teaching that combines time efficiency with fun. As the lessons continue, I slowly add new tools to each weekly lesson that are exiting and interesting. While working with intermediate to advanced students, I have had coached them to apply and get accepted into some of the top Universities and Conservatories in the country. My students, beginner intermediate and advanced levels, have been awarded for their performances and activities in schools and competitions.
I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

Melissa was my first voice teacher, and I was so fortunate to have her. She was very patient with me because I was very shy and self conscious when it came to vocal lessons. She help me find my voice, and started crafting it using many different tools to help me understand the different elements that allows one to register sound. My son really enjoyed his time with Madeline. Unfortunately, due to a move we were no longer able to attend this particular location. Madeline created an environment where my son felt very comfortable exploring different music, he always came out of class with a smile on his face. Madeline was instrumental in motivating my child to sing in front of an audience for the first time. This is an experience I don't think we will ever forget. She is encouraging and inspiring, as well as very talented and knowledgeable. We will really miss her.

I began studying music at age 80 with Madeline. I'd always yearned to sing, but couldn't match pitches and knew nothing about music. Her patience, encouragement, knowledge, and good humor have opened a whole new world of music for me in just a few months. I'm perhaps a bit older than most of her beginners, but I cannot say enough good things about Madeline, for getting me off to a great (late) start. In addition to being an excellent teacher, she has a lovely, supple, expressive voice and will go far in her singing career.

Lyle has a singing voice that will stun and amaze you when he sings in front of you. That will immediately put you at ease and motivate you to sing better using his techniques. His classical training has proven to be a great foundation for teaching me effective ways to understand, use and improve my voice. After 2 lessons I can already see a big difference in my singing abilities and I always learn many new things at each lesson. Lyle has a really open, friendly and non judgemental demeanor and this helped a lot with my nervousness. I can't wait for my next private lesson and would encourage anyone to book him for Broadway, classical and pop singing lessons.

I am now on my second year of graduate studies at Shenandoah University for Music Performance with a concentration in voice. Before going to graduate school I took a year off and taught privately at a music school. Within a few weeks my students improved a few of them even performed in a recital. One student also performed in a local children's production of Legally Blonde. Students who study with me will learn the basics and proper technique to sing, will sing appropriate repertoire and I will prepare the student if he or she would like to make a career in singing.

Classical voice and Opera are a very unique style to sing. It takes much training and time for your voce to mature naturally. It is a beautiful art form. It is a foundational style. Understanding classical will help you to understand other styles. it will give you so many important skills, such as phrasing, breathing, form, understanding the song and character of the music and so much more. I would love to help you grow in your natural talent.
Lesson:
It is very important to feel comfortable when learning something new so that you are not afraid to fail. Getting over the fear of failing is the initial part that will free you to experiment with your voice and really grow. You will find a safe space here to do that.
In our lessons we will work on vocal agility, range, improvisation, healthy singing and healthy projection, diction, harmony, different genres and music theory.

About Leah
Leah, a teacher, singer/songwriter, musician, entertainer and Berklee College of Music graduate.

She loves teaching and loves her students. Her main joy in teaching is watching her students grasp a new understanding and appreciation for their desired art and growing in their skills and talent. She loves seeing her students overcome obstacles. In her lessons, Leah sets the tone for care and a safe space to truly grow fearlessly. It is important to grow in confidence in your craft. In lessons, she covers setting a foundation, different genres, confidence, warm-up exercises, vocal techniques, ear training, music theory, harmony, performance techniques, audition preparation, range, improvisation, agility, freedom and more. She focusses on a few things at a time and has her students grow into other areas to work.

Musically, she provides
sounds and smooth tones of Jazz and Soul. Her latest EP entitled SonKissed is Jazz influenced music with Neo-Soul vibes and a positive message about love and life. She has been singing around Boston and New York and writing and recording new music. She has great things in store for her in the near future and much music and passion to share with the world.

Originating from Henderson, North Carolina, she grew up singing in school, church and choirs including the Raleigh Girls Choir of Raleigh, NC. Taking singing and piano lessons grew her love for music. She always had a fondness of jazz music starting at a young age, as her father would play jazz music. Studying music has led her to perform in recitals, concerts and festivals such as the Mozart Music Festival with The Capital City Girl’s Choir in Vienna, Austria, to study and perform abroad in Valencia, Spain, to graduate from Berklee College of Music and to continue writing, performing and growing as an artist. Leah also enjoys being involved in and performing in community events as she gives back. It is very important to her to help others as many have helped her.

She gets much of her inspiration from influences such as Jesus Christ, her parents, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Dianne Reeves, Lisa Fischer, Sammy Davis Jr., Sade, Anita O’day, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Adele, Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mary Mary, Robin Thicke, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Esperanza Spalding, Miles Davis, Al Jarreau, Nancy Wilson, Ledisi, Sounds of Blackness, Take 6, Gretchen Parlato, and Quincy Jones just to name a few.

Leah is so energetic while teaching her class. She goes above and beyond for her each student, by having activities to spark their interest. She meets each student where they are academically and successfully help each student complete the course. She is patient, kind and full of a loving spirit and a joy to watch online. Allow her the opportunity to teach your children because she is fully equipped with the knowledge, credentials and experience to do so! Enjoy the leah teach experience!!!

Leah is a an intuitive, creative instructor who caters to her students in a manner that is specific to each of their needs. She listens and uses her skills in all genres of music to facilitate in her teaching methods. You can find students warming up their voices to recording artist, 'Ledisi', and warming down with touring band, 'Moonchild'. Although her sound is rooted in jazz, her knowledge of music and her great ear make her a great teacher for any student looking to excel in their vocal and piano endeavors.
