My goal is to learn music the fun way. Along the way we'll learn theory, chords, scales, ear training, composition, reading music, tempo etc

If you take lessons with me, you can expect progression! This takes top priority in my mind. It is very important for my students to know that I encourage keeping track of their progress on their chosen instruments. Setting goals and reaching them can be very satisfying! I recognize that every student has different skill levels and I will teach to the style that they best adapt to. One final note to add, they will be loved!

General recording / mixing techniques, specialized in Logic Pro.

With technology getting better and cheaper at the same time, you can use a computer or an Ipad and create good recordings, but how? In this class we are going to talk about the principles of good recording techniques.

We will go over mike placement, how to set up a home studio so you dont have reflections in your sound, how to use a pop filter. We will talk about how to prepare to send your music to a mixing engineer and much more!

I firmly believe that experiencing music and being inquisitive are invaluable to learning how to play music. Studying music is not just about learning the material and regurgitating it, but discovering why a moment of music is cool and examining what about that moment makes it hit you in the right spot. I will be the guide that the student needs when he or she does not know where to go with his or her studies, but I want to encourage students to bring in music they want to learn, or discuss music that they think is cool and use that as a jumping off point into our lessons.

I'm here to help you achieve whatever it is YOU specifically seek in your musical development! This includes (but is not limited to) learning your favorite songs, developing guitar technique/facility, music theory/harmony, ear training, sight reading, rhythm/time/feel, home recording/production techniques, and even tools to combat performance anxiety. I'm a specialist in jazz, rock, blues, country, metal, alternative, folk, funk and pop guitar. I've dedicated my life to music and have a vast amount of experience studying, performing, recording, and teaching in a variety of genres. I'm here to help you tackle your personal goals and dreams in music!

There are three events that have influenced me significantly and shaped who I am as an artist. During four summers between 2011-2016 I, along with ten other artists, was funded for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 2 months by the Kopavogur and Reykjavik City Council to compose music and to perform in Iceland. I played in unconventional locations; swimming pools, fashion shows, hospitals, sidewalks and collaborated with dancers, actors, visual artists, pop musicians and filmmakers. Out of this work came a set of 13 etudes for solo guitar, a 35min pop/rock album with visual videos for each track, a scored short film, a full length techno album titled ‘Techno 1’ and various other compositions.
Another big influence was studying film scoring with Richard Sussman for two years during my studies at Manhattan School of Music. This period of time got me familiar working in a studio and I learned in detail how to work in DAW’s, especially Digital Performer. We looked primarily at virtual ...
