Centerville, UT Classical Voice Lessons

Having studied and performed classical voice for years, I understand and will teach the correct breathing, posture, and technical skills required. I believe the techniques and skill set required for classical singing are useful for many other styles of singing as well. A classically trained student will find that other genres come more easily as a result of their training.

You will learn classical technique by singing selections from classical composers.

​I work very hard for my students. I ensure a clean, safe, confidential working environment so we can work together to unblock your voice and give you more confidence in your singing and performing. I do not use sarcasm, put-downs, or hurtful criticism. With me you get useful and constructive teaching! ​

I promise to work as hard as you do. If you attend lessons consistently, bring an open mind to your lessons, and practice on a regular basis, we will accomplish great things together and you will make noticeable progression towards a healthy vocal technique.

I teach all voice types and ages 8 and older. The vocal repertoire taught in my studio includes; classical, musical theater, opera, jazz, and folk song.

Every lesson is for YOU. The time we spend together is time for you to explore your voice, your goals, and desires within music. I specialize in beginner/intermediate singers looking to expand their voice, repertoire, and love of singing. No lesson will be the same, and every lesson will be a shared experience in which we learn how your voice works, and how it feels.

Lessons include, but are not limited too, repertoire exploration, music theory, range expansion, vocal pedagogy/vocal anatomy, performance preparation, character coaching .....and much more.

Classical voice and Opera are a very unique style to sing. It takes much training and time for your voce to mature naturally. It is a beautiful art form. It is a foundational style. Understanding classical will help you to understand other styles. it will give you so many important skills, such as phrasing, breathing, form, understanding the song and character of the music and so much more. I would love to help you grow in your natural talent.
Lesson:
It is very important to feel comfortable when learning something new so that you are not afraid to fail. Getting over the fear of failing is the initial part that will free you to experiment with your voice and really grow. You will find a safe space here to do that.
In our lessons we will work on vocal agility, range, improvisation, healthy singing and healthy projection, diction, harmony, different genres and music theory.

No longer study with a teacher that is "set in their ways" - I have a plethora of teaching strategies that are current, and vibrant, geared toward the needs of the individual.

My extensive performing skills in addition to my vocal pedagogy training make my lessons well-rounded and highly effective.

I teach from a very technical standpoint. Form and function, physicality, and basic science can teach you a lot about singing properly. My goal is to get the student to a point where they can teach themselves when they build their voice and the lesson becomes a weekly or monthly check in of the progress. As singers we want good results, but we have to focus on the process and the result will follow on its own correctly without forcing the result we want. This process of optimal sound and beautiful tone can take some time, but when the steps are taken correctly, the results become ideal.
