Classical bel canto technique combined with principles of the Alexander technique.
If you are a seasoned performer, I will guide you in developing agility, musicality, range, dynamics, and phrase shape. If you are a first-time vocal student, I will provide an engaging, supportive environment to find your voice.
My instruction is based on professionalism, experience and range from more than 25 years of singing and 13 years of teaching. I have advanced education in vocal performance and am an AmSAT certified teacher of the Alexander Technique, which allow me to integrate the intellectual and physical aspects of singing. I use my energy, attentiveness and creativity to tailor lessons towards each student's unique needs.
I base my vocal technique on the Italianate tradition of operatic "bel canto," but also incorporate broad experience in musical theater, jazz, and early to contemporary classical music.

Very knowledgeable. It’s obvious he teaches often and can practice what he preaches. Learned a lot just in one lesson. Definitely recommend.

As someone who has never had a singing lesson before, I was a bit nervous and unsure of what to expect, but Tim made me feel incredibly comfortable very quickly! He has a ton of insight, listens to every question or concern, and I'd absolutely recommend him.
Classical technique in bel canto style, learn Italian, French, German and English songs 1600-1900
Hillary C. has been singing since joining the Sunrise Singers in elementary school. While singing in various choral groups, she also took private lessons to develop proper vocal technique. Her own students will appreciate the classical training she received as well as musical theater styles she has learned over the years.
At Washington and Lee University, Hillary participated in University Chorus, Chamber Singers, an a cappella group, and performed in musicals on stage. She studied music history, performance, and theory. Hillary earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Vocal Production and received the Choral Award upon graduation. She has performed with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, Dallas Symphony Chorus, and Incarnation church choir.
Hillary also studied piano for seven years during which time she won theory awards and was the star
pupil of her studio. She recently began a piano pedagogy class for continuing education credit.
Students under Hillary's tutelage can expect to gain an appreciation for classic works, learn basic music theory and ear training, and understand proper keyboard or vocal technique. She believes success comes from loving music and working hard to perform well.
Hillary is such a positive person and was so patient with my first time singer.

Hillary was very good with my 4 year old. He was reluctant at first, but she was able to bring him around and he ended up loving his lesson. He was so happy he called daddy and grandma on the way home to tell them about it.
I took classical vocal training lessons for 10 years, was a voice major in my university studies, and have sung various styles, from opera to broadway, to classical and gospel. In teaching voice, I employ a variety of techniques (breathing exercises, vocalises, vocal health tips, etc) to empower a new singer to first explore and understand their voice, and then strengthen and expand it. I always prioritize my students’ vocal health, and customize lesson exercises to their unique needs. Every voice is one-of-a-kind. Whether you’re just starting to discover your voice, or have been singing for a while, come uncover your vocal prowess!
In May 2011, I graduated from Texas Woman's University with my Bachelor's Degree in Music and a minor in Business Management. Music has been my passion since before I started taking piano lessons in third grade, and there was always an innate desire to master the keys. At age fifteen, I taught myself how to play guitar and started writing songs. In 2013, I became a published songwriter when my songs were produced on my church's Christmas Album ("Who Is This King?").
I have been teaching private piano lessons part-time from my home in Colleyville for seven years, and have instructed over 150 students. I have been blessed to be teaching full-time since January 2017, and it has been a dream come true to be able to invest all my time and energy into the precious gifts of my students. My students range from young beginners to intermediate a
nd advanced students, to beginner and moderate adults. Teaching is my greatest passion, whether it's of the classical genre, theory mastery, or equipping a student to use their gifts in worship.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and I will be happy to discuss. I believe with you that you'll find just the right instructor to impart to your family!

My goal as a voice teacher is to create a safe space for learning without judgment, a place to challenge the singer while being cheered on the entire way.
As a singer and performer of different genres and styles, I know how important it is to find a teacher who can help you understand just how singing works, giving you the freedom to sing whatever your heart desires!
I've studied voice for fourteen years, including two years of vocal pedagogy (the study of how to teach vocal technique). My students have gone on to place high in competitions, including three students who made first chair at the state level in the Texas All-State Choir auditions. I'm happy to see growth in every student, and it's not limited to competitions. Students can expect to see growth in their voice after the first lesson, which covers the foundations of singing technique.
In my lessons, I help you uncover the mystery of the voice so that you are prepared for whatever you'd like to improve: breath, posture,
placement, range, and performance practices. My knowledge is based in classical technique, which is backed by centuries of old-school teachings, and modern scientific discoveries, using exercises and information that are useful and skill-building. Every singer is unique, so it's my job to help you discover what works for you.
My goal is to create a fun and safe space for learning without judgment, a place to challenge the singer while being cheered on the entire way.

Hi! I am a classically-trained singer, pianist, active performer and music educator in Portland, Oregon. I started studying music when I was very young and earned my degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow, Russia. I started teaching in 1998. I have extensive experience teaching voice and piano for adults and children of different ability levels and in different music styles. Music brings so much joy into my life and sharing this joy is one of my most favorite things! Look forward to being part of your musical journey.
A student’s learning experience should be fun, exciting and inspiring, as well as stimulating and challenging. Over the years, I have come to realize that all students respond differently to concepts and materials presented in studio or class, depending on their backgrounds, interests, and learning styles. Prior knowledge has a significant effect on a student’s perception of new information, and therefore, instruction should be flexible and uniquely tailored to address each student’s needs, goals, strengths, and weaknesses.
In teaching the vocal technique, I frequently utilize my science background in my teaching, especially when explaining scientific concepts such as the acoustics of sound and its relation to singing; however, I also acknowledge the fact that some students respond much better to other teaching methods. I always aim to be well-equipped to present the information through multiple approaches and tools, which include imagery and metaphors.
I firmly believe that ...

"I started taking voice lessons with Wesley to help me with my college auditions, and I couldn't be happier! He really knows what he is talking about! I ha
ve become way more confident in my singing, and I am no longer nervous for my auditions next year! Thanks!"
"Pedro Tirado is a gifted, insightful voice teacher/coach. He knew exactly what was hindering my vocal development and how to correct it. His explanations
were clear and on point. Within only a few lessons my voice was significantly healthier, it was bigger and more flexible. He got me to sing up to an E6, five notes I didn't know I had after a lifetime of choral singing, mostly as a soprano. Although I had taken voice lessons before, I made more progress in three months with Pedro Tirado than I made in an entire year with another teacher. If you want to uncover your voice's full potential, go to Pedro."
"Donia was a great vocal instructor she was super patient and helped teach me proper breathing techniques that would protect my voice. Very reliable and pu
