Learn classical vocal production for art song, oratorio, operetta, opera etc.
Jessica is a fun, patient, passionate teacher whose mission is to pass on the wonderful knowledge and love for music that was instilled in her onto a new group of eager young minds. Jessica Winn has been studying and performing classical music for over 20 years. Her relationship with music started at age 9 with the Contra Costa Children's Choir and she has maintained her classical vocal studies ever since. Along with her vocal studies, Jessica studied classical piano privately with Keith Snell for 7 years, competing and achieving high marks in regional competitions. She went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Music at Mannes College of Music in New York City and finished her education at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she received her Masters, receiving training in vocal pedagogy and physiology, as well as vocal pe
rformance. Jessica graduated from SFCM in 2009 and immediately began perusing both a teaching and performing career. Jessica has maintained an active voice and piano studio since 2011, leading her students to high musical achievements in both fields, and is a Master Vocal coach at Acalanes High School. Other teaching experience includes Musical Theater Camp Director for the Heads Up Program at Head Royce in Oakland and Village Center for the Arts, giving private lessons, leading In-School Outreach Programs throughout the Bay Area, and heading their Musical Theater program. Jessica is an active performer in the Bay Area as well, performing with Opera San Jose, Phenix Opera, Berkeley Chamber Opera, Verismo Opera, West Edge Opera and Marin Baroque. Jessica has also been employed as a performer on the east coast, making her professional debut with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra in 2011 and with The Manhattan Opera Studio.
*** Lesson Details *** In my lessons, I feel it is important for my students to have fun and to and enjoy the learning process. However I believe in order for both student and teacher to get the most out of the lesson, practicing at home is extremely important and I expect my students to do so. I will always send them home with a goal or assignment that should be reached or completed by the next lesson to the best of the students ability.
For my voice students, we always begin with breath. Proper breathing is the foundation for all good singing. Then we move on to warming up both the voice and the body. During warm-ups, we will focus technical concepts such as breath control and support, vowel placement, and optimum vocal production. In most lessons (time permitting) we will work through a piece of music, one of their choosing or, if needed, I will recommend a piece. We finish each lesson with a review of the concepts we discussed during the lesson and practice goals for the week. For my piano students, I begin with finger placement and keyboard awareness. Depending on the students age and level, we will use both a music book and a music theory book (for very young students, I will hold off on the music theory and focus mostly on finger placement and keyboard awareness). Each week, I will assign two pieces of music and pages in the music theory book (again depending upon student's age and level). Students are expected to prepare the assignments by practicing at home and have them ready at the next lesson.
Communication is something very important to me as a teacher. I want my students to feel comfortable expressing their needs and/or concerns, musically or otherwise and hope they would appreciate me, as the teacher, to do the same.
*** Specialties *** Classical voice is definitely my specialty. I believe good classical technique is the basis for all good singing and can be applied to ALL musical genres.
The online lesson is something to get used to but Jessica was very kind and patient with my daughter! Looking forward to more lessons!

Patient and encouraging
I'm always impressed with how Jessica is patient with our 7 year old daughter and still is able to draw her out and motivate her when she is tired from school. Jessica always finds creative ways to be inspirational. Both my husband and I drive 15 miles to be able to have Jessica teach our little girl. We think she is worth it. She has been flexible and always tried her best to work within our schedule and has even driven out to our house to cover a lesson when things didn't work out in the schedule.

Jessica is teaching piano and voice to my 10 year daughter, and I am so impressed with her skills as a teacher. She is patient, encouraging, and inspiring, and her love for both music and teaching is apparent. She is also extremely knowledgeable about music theory and uses a teaching method that's very effective and gets students actually playing music right away, without shortchanging their long term development as musicians. Jessica is a rare find, plus she comes to our house for lessons!
I grew up doing Certificate of Merit in classical voice and went through all of the levels.
Glynis has been reading music since before she knew how to read words. Her mother started teaching her piano lessons at age 3, and she started taking voice lessons at age 7. She learned from an early age to practice every day. She has taught all levels and ages of piano and voice for many years. Glynis specializes in jazz voice, but has a very strong classical and musical theatre background. She is an arranger, composer, educator, and singer. She received her AA in Professional Music from SWCC (school for music vocations), her BA in Jazz Studies: Vocal Performance at CSU Sacramento, and her Masters in Jazz Studies: Vocal Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory at CSU Long Beach. She teaches college and high school vocal jazz ensembles as well as many private students in many areas of music. *** Lesson Details *** My teaching philosoph
y is to have a safe, positive, fun, and effective learning environment for all of my students. I believe it is important to be a well rounded musician, therefore I love my students to have a solid understanding of what they are doing. I strongly encourage all of my students to learn theory along with piano or voice, so they understand what they are doing. Each student is unique, therefore each student has a different lesson plan. I do expect that my students will practice during the week in order to grow, since this helps them reach their goals. I do let students pick most their own repertoire, since it is very important for them to be motivated and enjoy their assignments during the week. I can teach from early Baroque music to modern day and everything in between. Music is expression, therefore I believe it is very important for my students to love what they are working on.
*** Studio Equipment *** Lessons are in my house with my upright Yamaha piano.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can bring a keyboard, but it is necessary to have a piano or keyboard at home to pracitce on if you are a piano student.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in jazz voice, with a strong background in classical and musical theatre. I also specialize in piano, music theory, songwriting and arranging.
I have training in Classical Voice at all levels and begin teaching proper technique and songs in English, German and Italian. I love to see the improvement in my students and help them build confidence in themselves!
I am a vocal and piano instructor based in Doylestown, PA! I also teach essay writing. I went to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where I obtained a masters and bachelor's in voice. I have been teaching voice and piano for 8 years. I am upbeat and excited about sharing my passion for music with my students!
My teenager son loves his singing lessons with Kara. He has been going for a couple months and I have noticed a rapid improvement in his singing. I am a college level jazz musician.
My primary instruments are jazz guitar and upright bass.
Growing up I have always wanted to sing but never could find a qualified teacher.
Luckily, after extensive research online for vocal teachers I discovered Kara.
I have been taking lessons with her for a while now and she's wonderful.
I always have many questions for her in my lessons and she always has a knowledgable response.
I feel like I'm progressing and finally learning how to sing properly with someone who knows their stuff.
I would highly recommend studying with her.

I enjoyed our first voice lesson last week. Kara is a gifted music professional with great teaching ability. She has the ability to pick up on things that help facilitate the learning process. Great job!
With 15 years experience in teaching technique, I work strongly on breathing and vocal placement so that the student learns to sing correctly without hurting their voice. I have prepeared students for auditions to conservatories of music including Berkley College of Music, Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico and many more. I have also prepeared students that have auditioned to The Voice. I work classical and popular voices. I also give recording studio vocal coaching. You'll start learning immediately you start your lesson. I don't teach tricks, I teach processes.
Hi there! I have a BA in Music focused on percussion, voice and conducting. I have sang in choirs, opera choirs and small ensambles. As a soloist, I have been invited to sing with choirs and in the opera stage. I have also had the oportunity to travel to different countries singing opera as part of the opera choir for productions here in the United States, the Caribbean, Europe and Japan. I have been teaching and coaching voices for 15 years and have taught in Puerto Rico and in Vienna, Austria. Watching my students grow everytime they take a lesson is what I enjoy most! No matter their level, I help all my students develop great technique in order to free their voices and sing properly. I guarantee that you'll learn all the tools required to achieve your best as a singer and performer.
Pedro Tirado is a gifted, insightful voice teacher/coach. He knew exactly what was hindering my vocal development and how to correct it. His explanations were clear and on point. Within only a few lessons my voice was significantly healthier, it was bigger and more flexible. He got me to sing up to an E6, five notes I didn't know I had after a lifetime of choral singing, mostly as a soprano. Although I had taken voice lessons before, I made more progress in three months with Pedro Tirado than I made in an entire year with another teacher. If you want to uncover your voice's full potential, go to Pedro.

He will guide you and teach you what you need. The posture, the way you need to breath, the way you're supposed to "stretch" your voice, the exercises you need to practice and many more things. I started not knowing anything and singing horribly but he taught me that you need to trust in yourself and you need to let your voice just flow, don't hold it back. Believe it or not, your voice has a personality, that was something he always told me. Let him mold you and teach you what he knows. He's the best teacher ever. If you have the opportunity to take classes with him, I suggest you do so. You're gonna be surprised not only with him but with yourself. He's kind, humble, hardworking and a great person overall.
Music is a way of living that enhances your creativity, gives a hopeful vision and makes the life sparkling. After my professional opera experiences for many years, frankly I can say that you can't loose the child of your inside that makes you different than the others. During my education process, I realized that the key of loving your work was also related to your instructors. Being a mentor, leading a way of something that will reflect someone's life is so precious and requires some responsibilities and solid background. When I was a student, I was always passionate about looking to work with the best teachers, I was extremely interested in learning something new. So I believe If you're a teacher, you should have strong skills, knowledge, willing, a good human being, kind attitude , patient and passion. It sounds cliche but people deserve it. So my goals in teaching, causing to be loved the music, raising people who feel full of elements of singing, explore the abilities of ...
About Aysen Idil
Hi, I'm Idil. I’ve just received my master degree in Voice program from Mannes School of Music. I'm extremely interested in working with you! Shortly after my graduation from undergraduate studies, I started my professional career. I have been engaged with Turkish State Opera House as a permanent opera singer for seven years. In this role, I had the opportunity to perform leading roles with well-known orchestras, conductors and opera companies. It helped me to develop a professional attitude, discover leading research in opera at a younger age, develop good communication skills, musical discipline and responsibility at a young age. During this time, parallel to my professional duties, I assisted my voice teacher, who is a prima soloist in Turkish State Opera House, and had a chance to work with the students who provided me a chance to d
evelop my teaching skills to a wide variety of students. After the professional experience, I had a desire to further improve my music skills in the academic world. This led me studying and getting my master’s degree and complement my professional experience with academic research. The experiences I had has been invaluable. Teacher position requires ability to teach and communicate effectively, develop continuously and be responsible and disciplined with the tasks at hand. I believe my professional and academic experience have prepared me well in all of these areas.
While I was a young student, I always wanted to work with successful and well-equipped teachers who had significant and relevant hands-on experience. I believe, my experience and background prepared me to be one of those teachers who can help younger generation to build the skills necessary and grow in their area of study. This is what excites me the most about teaching.
I offer vocal training with a classical emphasis for beginning students of any age!
I am happy to work short term with students who would like audition or concert guidance.
Hello, I am Courtney!
As a teacher I strive to meet each student where they are at so that our lessons can suit their strengths and needs. I can be a little silly with my young students and believe that music, while sometimes hard work, is most importantly for our enjoyment and emotional expression. I am very patient and love nothing more than a student's "aha!" moment, when something that seems difficult finally makes sense. I've been told by administrators that I have a very calming demeanor with students, which I believe has helped me to create a open and welcoming classroom.
My teaching focus is on younger students (preK-8th grade) and beginners of all ages. I have focused my career and education about how to best teach the fundamentals of music to students in a way that is engaging and fun, but also builds strong music (and ac
ademic) learning skills. Whether students pursue an instrument for a year or for life, the skills we will focus on will help students gain a better understanding of the music they enjoy playing or listening to and the elements that combine to create the music they love.
I grew up in the mountain town of Stowe, Vermont, where I participated in music activities from the time I was a young child. I was part of our school's band, jazz band and chorus as well as participating in school and community theater both on and off stage. I've wanted to be a teacher since the age of 10, when my youngest sister was born. I loved babysitting, and took every opportunity I could to work with children as I grew up, including teaching Sunday School and being a music leader at a yearly camp. I chose to combine my two passions and become a music teacher, because I believed (and still do) that not only could I assist in their education, but that music is a wonderful tool to help students grow emotionally and socially as well. I now have been a licensed music teacher since 2012 and have a Bachelor's in Music Education from Hartt School of Music and a Master's in Music Education from Boston University.
After teaching in Connecticut for a number of years, my husband and I moved to our current home in Santa Monica, CA. We have a five-year-old fluffy corgi named Duke who lives a double life as a spoiled baby and a hard-working service dog. If you are in the Santa Monica area you may see us out and about at parks, people watching downtown, or generally enjoying the sun.
TRAVEL: I will travel for in home lessons in Santa Monica, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Mar Vista, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades. With prior approval I may travel to Culver City, Westwood, Playa Del Rey, Westchester, Malibu, or beyond depending on location and time/day of lesson. Contact me to ask about your specific neighborhood!!
With each individual student, I have 4 objectives: 1. Learn what the student's musical goals are 2. Set tangible actions to obtain goals 3. Give real feedback and track progress 4. Create opportunities for student to dream bigger
I have been actively singing and performing since I was three years old, playing piano since I was 7 and dancing for over 12 years.
Music: I graduated from Northwest University with a BA in Music in 2018. Most of my musical background began and remained in the church, playing and leading worship teams. I am now leading the worship teams for a church in Seattle and love getting to train and inspire others in their musical gifts.
My love for music blossomed from my passion for performing and creating. My whole life has been centered upon music... at home, at school, at work, at church, at my ballet studio, and more. My husband and I even met because of a band and a choir... just like a romantic movie! In our free time, we enjoy creating covers of songs together and playing in bands with one another.
I have experience in a varie
ty of vocal genres including classical, pop, choral, jazz, broadway, and recording. I was the biggest choir nerd you could meet in high school and college, spending my entire class day in and out of our choir room.
I began playing piano at 7 years old because I wanted to impress everyone during music class. I eventually fell in love with the instrument and prided myself on my ability to sight read music. My favorite form of piano is playing pop and worship music where you are given the freedom to create beautiful sounds out of very little written direction.
Dance: I have been dancing since I was 12 years old with a primary focus in ballet and lyrical partnered with exposure to all different forms of dancing. I began my training at Studio West Dance Academy in Olympia, WA where I performed over ten different roles in the Nutcracker, participated in four years of traveling galas, and more showcases than I can remember.
I attended Evergreen City Ballet's summer intensive in Renton, WA., Paradosi Ballet's summer intensive in Tacoma, WA. and was selected to take part in Boston Ballet's summer intensive for an entire summer. Unfortunately, I suffered from foot injuries that took me off pointe shoes and forced me into rest (when I was abel to focus on music). Since then, I have been able to take adult classes at Westlake Dance Center in Bothell, WA and love to be able to invest in the next generation of dancers.
My passion in life is to see people come alive and create something beautiful. My love for the arts and desire to create is something I hope to spread to others. The moment you see someone play a tricky note sequence or sing something they never thought they could hit is the most rewarding feeling there is.
My lessons are geared towards fostering a healthy, confident singer from beginner to advanced levels. Providing you with the necessary tools in order to adapt to any situation, whether on stage or in studio. Building your instrument to weather adversity comes from a grounded and functional technique that fits your individual voice. Most importantly, singing should be a joy! I want to give you the confidence to have fun, too. Through my over 15 years of experience singing professionally I’ve performed in every venue imaginable. From lead roles in operas to performing at venues like the Forum to singing on Disney soundtracks, I want to pass on the technique which has allowed me a career with longevity and flexibility. A singer’s unique voice is a huge asset. I don’t want you to sound like everyone else. I want you to sound like you. That’s where a healthy foundation can give you the guidance to sound like the best version of you.
I am a professional vocalist in Los Angeles with singing credits ranging from opera to Disney. With over 15 years of professional experience, I practice what I teach to maintain my voice and have been lucky to have had great teachers along the way.
I started my career in opera and choral ensemble work. Formerly I have been a young artist at Opera Tampa and an ensemble recording artist with Oregon Catholic Press. In my three years in LA I have expanded my resume rapidly. In addition to being a member of two choral ensembles (LA Choral Lab and Tonality) and have sung this past season with the Los Angeles Master Chorale under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel.
In session work, I maintain an active career. Most recently I sang for Disney's The Lion King. I have also sung for Game of Thrones Live at the Forum and Assassin's Creed Live for E3. Tw
o years ago I provided vocals for a Nissan national ad campaign. Not only do I sing, but I'm also a Voiceover artist represented by AB2 talent. There's not a day goes by that I don't practice vocal artistry.
Singing with a strong foundation in the classical style has given me many opportunities to perform in some amazingly diverse situations. Although I specialize in classical voice, the bel canto technique I employ encourages flexibility and can prepare you to feel comfortable singing in every genre.
You will love taking lessons from Michael! Not only does he have a lot of real-world experience performing in the music business here in Los Angeles, but he is also incredibly down-to-earth and inviting. You will have no problem feeling comfortable enough to start taking risks and improving your voice under his guidance!

Michael rocks! He's a fantastic singer and a wonderful person. He's supportive, encouraging, and an absolute pleasure to work with. He brings tons of solo, choral, and studio experience to lessons, which makes him well equipped to help you reach your singing goals.

I had so much fun taking my singing lessons with Michael! It can be somewhat intimidating and daunting to sing in front of someone at first, but Michael was very relaxed and has a very approachable personality.
From just a few of our sessions, I have learned so much about my voice. I have also been noticing a few desireable results while implementing techniques that Michael has introduced to me. I am very exciting to continue my voice lessons with him, and I highly recommend that you do so as well!
"Susan Fisher is a wonderful teacher! She is positive, kind and very encouraging. She is an excellent musician and my daughter has learned so much from h

He always has time and he's also perfected my music and made it better than I ever thought it would be. Thank you for making my dream come true."
"If your are looking to be the Best. Be trained by the BEST TEACHER! Frank Thomas has been my best vocal trainer for years. I couldn’t be the singer I am w
ith out frank. I wouldn’t be in operas, solos and many musicals journeys with out his ways of training me. DON’T look anywhere else. This is the best and also he is fun!!! I remember when I first started with him. In 3 days. Yes 3 days with me working on my voice with him I heard a big dramatic operatic voice come out of me!!!! I’m telling you look no further. Trust me."
