Reading the detailed "About" section below should give an aspiring singer all the information relevant as to how and what I teach, with regard to vocal performance and technique. I was classically trained as a vocalist, and from that training I was able to incorporate the various musical nuances necessary to navigate the world of Classical Voice. I personally feel that a singer trained classically, can cross over into other genres with relative ease, should that be their desire. You will learn the foundation to controlled singing. To capsulize my mission statement as an instructor: You WILL be a better vocalist AND performer. THIS I GUARANTEE!!

Hi, I'm Laura and I believe everyone has a unique and authentic voice that deserves to be uncovered. Whether you have stage aspirations or are simply interested in learning more about singing, voice lessons can be a great way to build confidence and grow in your sense of self. We'll work together to develop a language and tool box that will enable you to reach your fullest potential as a singer.

I am a high school choir director and have experience working with all voice types, ability levels and experience -- and I love every single one of them! One of my favorite aspects of teaching private lessons is that I get to find out and help shape my students' goals, whether it be recording their own music, auditioning for music programs/competitive music scholarships, or simply gaining confidence as a singer! The sky is the limit and it's important to me that I am helping each student in the unique ways that they need!

I was trained classically at University of North Texas where I received my B.M. and M.S. in music and drama. I've taught as a vocal adjunct professor at 3 universities and performed opera, oratorio, and art song.
