Having first hand experience playing in many bands and recording albums has taught me a lot. This kind of experience is only learned by working in the industry, but the things I have learned can be passed on to students with ambition.

With each one of my students, I take into account how much time they are willing to practice, what genres interest them, and what learning style works best. I then come up with a structured lesson plan that is specifically catered to their needs.

I started playing acoustic guitar when I was seven years old. I have been playing and teaching mostly bluegrass, old time, Irish, blues, and swing jazz styles for many years. I have taught both privately and have also done various workshops at festivals. I have taught guitar multiple years for instance at the Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival in PA.
My students learn to have fun with music. Students can work on rhythms, melodies, improvisation, song writing, getting into and/or hanging on in a jam session, etc.

I have performed on numerous TV talk shows including, Ellen, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Jimmy Kimmel show, Conan, and more.

I have performed headlining shows at some of the nation's most iconic music venues and festivals including Radio City Music Hall (NY), Red Rocks amphitheater (CO), The Academy of Music (PA), The Hollywood Bowl (CA), Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and more.

I have over a decade of teaching experience. I am trained in jazz but well-versed in all styles. I am a multi-instrumentalist specializing in guitar, pedal steel guitar, dobro, and beginner banjo. My teaching philosophy includes a tailored approach for each student's needs and learning style.

Josh, multi-instrumentalist for Norah Jones and many others graduated Berklee College of Music in 1995. He has been playing professionally and teaching privately since then. He appears on albums by James Taylor, The Lemonheads and has performed live with everyone from Brian Wilson to Miley Cyrus.I offer private guitar lessons to students of all ages and skill levels in a fun and patient environment.
