If you just want to learn easy riffs or songs or if you want to become an awesome player/rockstar that can shred, play in bands and stand out as a player, I can get you where you want to be!
I am a Rutgers University graduate with a B.A in Music Performance. I have played guitar for over 10 years, and currently perform all over the tri-state area as a solo acoustic performer and songwriter. I also play in several rock bands. I teach several students ages 5-65 right now, and have taught students how to play guitar for several years. In addition to playing in a rock band, I also am well versed in many music styles including jazz, pop, country and acoustic, songwriting, performance, music theory and recording skills/production.
*** Lesson Details *** I am a very flexible teacher and suit my teaching style and format to fit each specific student's interests and needs. My goal is to keep the student interested and make learning guitar a fun experience.
I like to find out the kind of music the student listens to, or what
they want to get out of playing guitar, and then mold my teaching around that. For instance, if a student or parent wants a formal musical education, I will teach how to read music notes and teach them from a book. If the student wants to learn simple songs and be able to play around the campfire for fun, I make sure to guide the student toward doing just that.
*** Studio Equipment *** Dedicated lesson space. Guitars. Music stands. Music books. Seating for parents.
*** Travel Equipment *** I provide my own instruments I would require them to have te instrument they want to learn available and the necessary power source and amp if needed.
*** Specialties *** Rock country jazz mainly though I know classical music theory as well as counterpoint etc

I am a classically trained guitar player who ventured off into a variety of styles such as Blues, Jazz, Rock and Open Tunings. The greatest thing about being a teacher as well as a performer is that I am able to recognize and hone in on your natural music skills and teach you how to incorporate them into creating your own style of playing.
I’ve been teaching guitar since 2006 and enjoy finding the time to help my students move forward through all levels of learning and always keep it fun! I studied music and theater at Hunter College and The New School Guitar Study Center and have performed with some of music’s greatest players. I was mentored throughout my career by the late great Hugh McCracken one of the music industries greatest producers and top 100 guitar players and also had the pleasure of performing with the late B.B. King,
Wyclef Jean, Dr. John and many more. I have written and recorded songs for Off Broadway, Film and TV as well as teacher/consultant for many actors behind the scenes for networks such as WARNER BROTHERS, NBC, ABC, NETFLIX, HBO AND SHOWTIME. I produced and recorded an Internationally successful CD titled “RESTLESS ANGEL” released in Australia and have been reviewed and featured in several top music publications such as PERFORMING SONGWRITER MAGAZINE, AUSTRALIAN MUSICIAN, AUSTRALIAN GUITAR, BEAT MAGAZINE, AMAZON AND MODERN DRUMMER. I can teach and play just about any style of guitar with specialties in Electric guitar, instrumental fingerstyle, Blues, flatpicking, fingerpicking, lead guitar, open tuning's, slide and Dobro. My style of teaching is unique and includes traditional and non-traditional styles of theory, rhythm and ear training combined with various styles of muscle techniques that I’ve developed in order to reach notes and not get bored and tired! I believe that ANYONE can learn guitar if they have the drive and desire. I'm a kind, motivated and patient person and my teaching style is straight forward, focused and fun! I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your musical dreams and goals!
I was certain It would take a long time before I would be able to play a song on the guitar.. Marie Gabrielle, the famous “Restless Angel” blues guitar player and singer- songwriter, who occasionally opened for B.B. King, proved me otherwise..After every lesson I was able to play a song, and understand enough theory to use those principals in other areas of my music.. I was creating, and writing, and playing and right away...oh what funnnnnn...Marie Gabrielle is a super talent and makes you feel like one too..any chance to spend time with her and learn your way around a fret or two is a real treat.. run, don’t walk... magic Indeed...
Andrew is an experienced educator, having worked as a private instructor since the age of thirteen. Performing in numerous bands playing music from jazz to rock and funk has given Andrew a wide variety of skills to offer to any student, regardless of style. His technical knowledge of the instrument can keep more advanced players entertained, while his patience, teaching experience and practical advice can help any beginner get started on the right path.
I am a guitarist, educator and composer based in New York City. I recently graduated from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, completing a BFA with Honors in December 2018. Since moving to New York, I have been able to study with some of the world’s finest musicians, including many I grew up listening to such as Lage Lund, Aaron Parks and Peter Bernstein. These experiences have given me an insight into music that I could not have gained otherwise, as well as opened me up to different varieties of jazz and styles of music. You can find me playing in jazz venues around the city such as ShapeShifter Lab.
Music has always been a part of my life, beginning to play my first instrument, the piano, at two years of age. Then, at the age of nine, I started learning the guitar. Like most young musicians at that age, I began this part
of my musical journey, focusing on rock, winning the Shredding Contest in the under 19 category at the Vancouver Guitar show when I was fourteen. It wasn’t until I was in high school that I became a dedicated jazz musician, discovering a true passion for this genre. During my high school years, I was featured in many honour ensembles and won numerous awards, the most notable being Most Outstanding Guitarist at MusicFest Canada, a national level high school music festival, in both 2013 and 2014. In the summer of 2016, I was selected to play in the Ottawa Youth Jazz Summit, an ensemble put together to feature Canada's top jazz musicians under the age of 25. I was honoured to have my musicianship recognized by winning the Stingray Rising Stars Award.

I knows that each student is different and has a different relationship with music. I like to tailors my lessons to fit the students specific needs. Having experience in many different styles, I'm able to explore what the student wants to learn, while still teaching them the fundamentals of the guitar and music theory.
Any style at any experience level, I can help you be the player you want to be and learn more about your favorite players and genres of music.
My name is Tim C and I'm a music teacher at North Andover High School. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016, majoring in Guitar Performance. I am well-educated and well-versed in many styles including blues, funk, R&B, classical, and rock. My only goal in teaching my students is to assist them in reaching their own goals and accomplishing what they want to achieve as a musician or guitar player.
I have been playing guitar as my main instrument for almost 20 years. I am a multi-instrumentalist who writes, records, and produces his own alternative/indie rock music (check me out on Spotify, Apple, Soundcloud, Amazon, Google!).
We can develop a lesson plan specifically for what you want to accomplish: covering your favorite songs, writing original songs, improvising, reading music/tabs, and "shredding".
Hello! My name is Taylor and I have been playing guitar since I was 10 (that puts me around 20 years experience at this point in my life). I have picked up singing, drums, piano, and bass since then. I write and record my own music in my own “studio” during free time from work. I occasionally will play cover sets at venues/events for $$$.
I have had 3-4 students in my life and I believe each has met their goals partly from my teaching, but mostly by their own commitment to put the time into practicing what I tell/show them. I have 1 student that just graduated ASU for guitar performance, and another student that writes/records/plays out with his band.
If you are willing to listen and put time in to what I ask you to practice then we should be able to accomplish what you are aiming for in music!
My approach as a music teacher is to first teach the student to relax and have fun with their instrument. I use backing tracks to help the student feel a beat or groove to a song. This is very important. Theory, technic and ear training are important but useless if the student doesn't first feel and enjoy music. We all sing along and dance to our favorite songs but in many cases, the joy goes away when we begin to actually study music. I don't want to take the joy away. First we have fun. Playing is learning.
Hello everyone. My name is Mitch and I hope to be your music teacher soon! I have been teaching music since 2000, I have a degree in Music Education. Music is undoubtedly my number one passion and teaching it to others is most fulfilling. I have been in various bands and musical productions and I am currently holding the position of Assistant Director of Contemporary Music at the Church in which my family attends. I don't use your lesson time as my "show off time". I expect students to practice daily and attend lessons prepared and ready to build on the previous lesson. I cherish the long term relationships I have with my students, former students and parents. I hope to welcome you into that circle and help you build the skills necessary to color your life with music.
I have been taking electric guitar lessons for a few months. I learned a lot in those few short months. He has a lot of talent and is a great teacher.

I have been taking drum lessons with Mitch for over 2 years. He is a great teacher!

Mitch is very attentive to a student's level of learning and is patient with the student. But if a given lesson is quickly learned, he moves forward right away. This means to me he pays attention to what is going on and is flexible to help the student get the best use of their time.
My name is Tim and I am a professional guitarist based out of the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. I have an undergraduate degree in guitar performance, and a Master's Degree from The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance.
BUT - I do not only teach jazz! I love all styles of music and started out playing bluegrass and fingerstyle guitar, which I still deeply enjoy.
In our lessons, we will work towards your own personal goals, while I keep an eye on your technique. I make sure you learn things the right way ~the first time~ so you don't have to re-learn things you feel like you already know. This is one of the hazards of learning the guitar from the internet that a great teacher (like me!) will help you with. I want to save you time, frustration, and hard work! Let's do it right the first time!
y, I work very often around town. I play places in Chicago like the California Clipper, the Green Mill, the Whistler, Cafe Mustache and the Green Mill. I work mostly in Jazz contexts but also do whatever I get called to do! I want to help you meet your performance goals (because I have met mine), or get you started from the beginning.
LASTLY - while I love jazz, I also love pop music and can teach any and all styles. No matter what you'd like to play, good technique and learning it the right way the first time is essential! Let's get started!
"Great teacher who really cares about the student’s success!!"

"My son was given a guitar by a family member and showed variable interest until Greg started to teach him - Greg has woven elements of what my son needs t
o learn to improve with how these elements are used by some of the biggest and best guitarists ever and really changed practice from being a chore to something that can be fun. This is the way Greg said he would teach and he’s sticking very much to it! A great instructor that my son really enjoys going to - thanks Greg!!"
"Greg is a best-in-class and excellent musician, and more importantly, he is able to translate those skills to his students in an easy-to-understand manner
. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for lessons, beginner or more, young or old."
"I have been studying with Ahmad for more than half a year now and it's been a great experience! Coming from wind instrument, my understanding of chords is
