Hire Concetta, especially to support a beginning violin player! She is warm, professional and very adept at finding your child's musical strengths and then identifying material to help them access and enjoy the music and instrument. AKA GOOD TIMES for all and excited to continue...as it should be. Thank you Concetta for your expertise and flexibility with schedule. Keri-Ann

I have been taking lessons with Nick now for a little over a year and it has been a great experience. I appreciate that Nick tailors lessons to my ability and musical interests and incorporates a little musical theory at times. Having started with little knowledge of the guitar, I think I've progressed a lot and that's due to his teaching. Lessons are also a joy. Nick has an easygoing teaching style, while at the same time he's focused on helping me progress. I feel lucky to have found Nick as an instructor, and I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn the guitar.
ellen
As an adult, I was hesitant about learning a new instrument. Nick has been amazing at helping me learn the banjo! He is encouraging, patient, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Nick to anyone at any age.
Peter
Nick is an amazing ukelele teacher! He has been teaching my 9-year-old son for about 8 months now. He is cheerful and enthusiastic, and an undeniable talent. His teaching style is at once relaxed ("feeling" the music over strict adherence to technique), and rigorous (dropping in some heavy music theory early on). He's teaching my son to be a "musician", not just a "ukulele player". He encourages creativity and tailors the lessons to what our son enjoys. He sends a great summary email after each lesson with notes and reminders and things to work on for the next week. And his lessons even carry over nicely to how my son is learning piano. We would recommend him highly.

Eric is infinitely patient. He's really attentive to detail and relaxed about it.

I’m a non-traditional music student, so I was a little nervous starting music at such an “advanced” age. Eric makes every lesson interesting, but, more importantly, he makes them fun. We laugh a lot and I’ve learned so much in the short time I’ve been taking lessons. If he’s this good with an old lady, he must be fabulous with children. I highly recommend Eric for any aged student. Call him!

Thank you Damien!!!! Patient, non-judgmental, slow, clear instruction. I had one particular song I wanted to learn and Damien walked me through, step by step, how to. And in the meantime, taught me a bit about music theory and reading ... at my level. Before I signed up, I felt frustrated and overwhelmed. Now I feel confident and inspired ... taking my "sweet time" to get that muscle memory. The best. Thank you.
Mona
Damien explains the concept very well and asks questions to find out how much I already know. He tailors the classes to my abilities (I used to play piano and guitar) and interests. I am inspired to practise the techniques so I can play the music I chose. Just my third lesson and Damien is already introducing “improvisation” and that I was ready as long as I practise my scales. Being taught by Damien is exhilarating. Very blessed.

My Teaching Philosophy

Left Hand-
Scales and arpeggios our the bedrock of music. They are the foundation of everything harmonically and melodically. We will begin with learning our major, minor and pentatonic scales and corresponding arpeggios. Once we have an understanding of those we will delve into our modes and more “exotic” scales.

Right Hand-
The right hand is our time machine. It gives us the ability to play in time and with groove and feel. We will work on rhythmic studies string crossings and practicing with a metronome. Remembering music is harmony, Melody and rhythm working as one.
For those who are new to playing music the hardest thing for some to master is rhythm/time keeping. It is the black and white right or wrong of the music world. Often times our want to progress quickly is hampered by skipping over the basic building blocks of rhythm and time keeping.
The first critical step is the concept of subdivision. Subdivision it the mind ...
