Justin is the quintessential professional in every way. His approach is to make you a better student of music not necessarily just learn guitar. He is patient with you and very positive and reinforcing. The passion he has for music is obvious from the first time you meet him. As with any good manager, just by the way he teaches, makes you want to be a better student.

My goal with my voice students is to teach them how to use their voice in a healthy and natural way while maintaining the sound that got them recognition, as well as help beginners find their style. With proper technique, singing becomes as easy as speaking. Using science and understanding a singers genetic abilities, I teach my students how to get a beautiful balance between air and muscle to create a resonance that a singer can grow a wide range and build strength on without having any breaks in their voice.

Private Classical Voice Teacher

Students who study with me learn a technique based on clear, focused vowels, with a ringing tone. I am able to teach art song in Latin, German, French, Italian, and English, as well as operatic and musical theater styles. I am interested especially that young singers begin on a good foundation with repertoire suitable for their voices. I help my students achieve goals such as placement in choirs and participation in vocal public performance.

About Mark

I am an active performer eager to teach organ, piano, voice, and provide collaborative keyboard accompaniment to vocalists. I teach youth and adults. Private lessons are given at my church in Worcester or online through the TakeLessons platform. I also teach in-home piano lessons. My students have gone on to undergraduate and graduate performance schools and hold full-time positions in churches, schools, and other performing organizations around the country. I believe music is not only an aesthetic pursuit, but also a primary way to develop one's sense of self-esteem, community, trust, openness, and character. Building skill as a musician exercises the brain, builds logic, and fosters discipline.

I am the Dean of the Worcester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Private Classical Voice Teacher

Having experienced playing Princess Jasmine, Mrs. Lovett, and Peter Pan (to name a few) in my musical theatre journey, I want to teach you how to do the same by getting the lead role in your next audition! There is so much to learn in how to use proper technique when singing and I am so excited to get to teach you the Do’s and Don’t’s of singing that so many people aren’t aware of! Let’s get started on your musical journey today!

About Maria

I am a professional vocalist, pianist, and guitarist.

Having played many lead roles including Princess Jasmine, Mrs. Lovett, and Peter Pan (to name a few) in my musical theatre journey, I want to teach my students how they can do the same by getting the lead role in their next audition!

Not only have I performed in lead roles, I have also lead worship at several churches, accompanying myself on the acoustic guitar and/or piano/keyboard.

I enjoy playing an array of other instruments as well including the violin, ukulele, mandolin, flute, saxophone, djembe, and whatever else I can get my hands on. (I love music!)

I have sung in Carnegie Hall, and have toured South Africa on a musical service learning opportunity with the elite choir at Mississippi College, Singers. I have performed on stage longer than I can remember, and am

the third generation of piano teachers in my family.

In my classroom (whether online or in-person), students can expect a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere in their lessons where mistakes can be had, but corrections will be made in both a respectful and caring way. I am here to encourage and correct, not to criticize.

All lessons begin with music theory training. Whether you are learning to sing, play the piano or guitar, music theory is the foundation of learning to play all music. The lesson will then go into the lesson curriculum I require for the specific instrument, and will then continue to the student’s performance pieces. Piano lessons have an added bonus at each lesson which includes a time of improvisation with the teacher!

I look forward to teaching and encouraging you along your musical journey that you are sure to love!

Maria is amazing on all levels. She is professional and builds a friendship with your children. Her faith and talent are a 10. I wish we could have kept her in south Mississippi but we know we had to let her go.

Maria is an amazing teacher who puts a lot of emphasis on building correct vocal technique and making sure singers are using their voice properly and not damaging their voice. She has been trained by the best teachers and has quite an extensive resume with performances in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York. As well as touring South Africa. She builds on what she has learned and shares that knowledge with her students. I highly recommend Maria!!!

"Mr. Barbosa is a very outgoing person who always checks in on his students before we begin the lesson. At the
beginning of the lesson, we start with warm
-ups so our voice is
ready to sing high or low notes. When you first start with Mr. Bar-
bosa, he will have you sing multiple songs and scales so he can
learn your vocal range. Mr. Barbosa makes sure that you understand
the content and if you don't, he is helpful and explains it in a way we
can comprehend. Lessons are a great way to improve your singing.
I’m becoming more comfortable performing in front of my peers."

"Holly is simply magnificent! She's incredibly talented and a wonderful teacher. My daughter took lessons from Holly for six years and had much success.
She placed in All State, Governor's Honors and Honor Choirs. The best part was when she received a scholarship for vocal performance, all four years of college (undergrad)! Now, she's studying for her master’s degree in vocal pedagogy and performance. Holly's influence went beyond vocal performance skills, she's a mentor and role model to her students. We have so much respect, admiration and love for Holly. I enthusiastically recommend her!"

"It's my pleasure to recommend Tania as a voice teacher without reservation. I had the pleasure of working with her as her accompanist/vocal coach for seve
ral years while we both lived in Florida. Tania possesses a beautiful soprano voice, is quite a talented actress and is quite facile with French, German and Italian diction. She's an excellent teacher; I've had the pleasure of hearing some of her students sing. If you're looking for a voice teacher, Tania would be an outstanding choice."

"My husband and I are both musicians and have studied music for many years. We were looking for a qualified voice teacher for our daughter, to prepare for
an important audition. She wanted to sing opera and did well learning the arias and studying various opera singers on You Tube; but sometimes her throat would hurt. She needed to learn healthy vocal techniques.

Michelle immediately, gave her several exercises to develop her breathing, an increase her volume, and worked on her diction in Italian, French and German; always enthusiastic an encouraging. Michelle went above and beyond to help our daughter gain the confidence that she needed and to bring out the best in her.

We highly recommend Michelle Kei I."

d Elena has help me to improve tremendously. I have now been working with her for three years, and I am always excited to learn in such a warm and supportive environment. Not only is Elena a phenomenal singer herself, she is simply an amazing teacher. I highly recommend her!!!"

"Jonathan is a great teacher! His method focuses a lot on body awareness--from the core torso muscles used for breath support, all the way to the muscles i
n the face where resonance occurs.

Jonathan is very intuitive about my individual needs, helping me find my voice through specific corrections, rather than just providing general instruction. He is also a warm and welcoming host and quick to offer a cup of hot tea!

Highly recommend, especially for students looking for greater body awareness while singing and hoping to get more out of their breath support."

"I am so excited about my voice lessons. I am a university trained classical singer with extensive operatic and art song experience who wanted to get back
to singing after a long absence. I was looking for a teacher that could help me to navigate the changes in my voice due to the aging process and provide me with the tools to steady a vibrato that had gotten out of hand. Michelle and Robert are exactly what I needed. They have extensive and commanding knowledge of the voice and support mechanism and teach from the Italian “Bel Canto School” perspective. That is to say pure vowels, open throated but focused sound and a healthy, low laryngeal position. I am loving my voice again and it has only been 3 lessons. They are exceptional at finding the beauty in the individual voice and not requiring a “carbon copy” sound. One of the best things about my lessons is that they complement each other as teachers and find a number of ways to facilitate a natural and beautiful sound by articulating suggestions in many and varied ways. If the student is unable to reproduce the desired outcome by one method, they will find another way to achieve it. Not one minute of a lesson is wasted and each week brings quick and substantial progress. It has been a joy to work with them and I look forward to each lesson and the progress they bring. In short, I am thrilled."
