I have been singing in public since 1976 (professionally since 1993).

I use a very practical and simple approach. I like to teach the natural voice.

Graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ with a degree in classical Voice Performance. I begin teaching with the fundamentals of healthy technique. While I am trained in and teach bel canto/classical voice, I believe the fundamentals of healthy, relaxed singing are useful in any genre and in ensemble singing. By freeing the voice in this way: singing feels easier, the tone becomes more colorful, and the singer is able to truly express the message of the song.

Learning to control your voice through proper breathing, pitch, ear training and learning to navigate through our chest and head voice.

With almost 15 years of teaching experience, I have come to watch many of my students go on to college and graduate school successfully. Most of them under full tuition scholarships. I am a classically trained singer myself and the approach to my lessons are over all focused on healthy emission of the voice with emphasis on breath suport and appropriate placement according to the style you want to perform: classical, musical theatre, jazz or any contemporary genre. I will help you reach your goals with vocal exercises and weekly routines designed specific for your needs. All you need is desire to learn and enjoy!

Hello! My name is Daniel, and I am a double major in Music Education and Voice Performance at the University of Southern Maine! I have studied German, Italian, French, Latin, and English diction. Our lessons can be personalized for your needs- are you auditioning for an honors choir? Want to land a leading role in a musical? Improve your knowledge of theory and sight singing? Something else? I'm a singer/actress/dancer and I started teaching because it brings me great joy to help students -- quite literally -- find their voices! I teach the pop, broadway, and classical techniques and place a large emphasis on musicality.

Typically in a lesson, I'll start off with technique warm-ups, and then we'll work on a song of your choice. Even if you have no plans to perform the song any time soon, I've come to understand that working on pure technique alone will only get you so far - in order to sing well, you must first... sing!

We can work on the same song for as long as there are improvements to be made and lessons to be learned. On that note, I am by no means a pianist... I play a bit, but don't usually do so during voice lessons. I prefer to focus on YOU and not the piano with which I might've tried to accompany you :)
