Hello! I have a passion for helping students feel empowered and confident through the use of their voice, whether personal or professional. As someone who has struggled with and recovered from a vocal pathology, I feel that I have a unique perspective on the emotional taxations and challenges that vocal work can bring up. I strive to use compassion and the "love and logic" methodology with all of my students. I am passionate about voice pedagogy and voice science, and use a more anatomically based approach in my teaching, rather than metaphorical.

I received my master's degree in voice performance from the University of Northern Colorado in 2017, and hold a bachelor's in music education which I obtained from Colorado State University in 2013. I am a performing mezzo-soprano in a variety of genres, and I have a passion for teaching many different styles including classical, jazz, and musical theater.

I have a passion for teaching music and sharing the joy of singing with my students! I plan my lessons around the individual achieving their personal goals by increasing the difficulty with each lesson and choosing songs that the student is passionate about. I always focus on building a strong foundation for vocalists to achieve healthful & free singing through various conditioning exercises that emphasize improving their breath control, tone, and resonance. In addition to teaching healthy vocal technique, vocal anatomy and music theory to my students, I also incorporate stage presence and musical expression into their lessons to strengthen their skills as a performer. Let's get started!

I'm a singer/actress/dancer and I started teaching because it brings me great joy to help students -- quite literally -- find their voices! I teach the pop, broadway, and classical techniques and place a large emphasis on musicality.

Typically in a lesson, I'll start off with technique warm-ups, and then we'll work on a song of your choice. Even if you have no plans to perform the song any time soon, I've come to understand that working on pure technique alone will only get you so far - in order to sing well, you must first... sing!

We can work on the same song for as long as there are improvements to be made and lessons to be learned. On that note, I am by no means a pianist... I play a bit, but don't usually do so during voice lessons. I prefer to focus on YOU and not the piano with which I might've tried to accompany you :)

My Singing lessons are deeply rooted in a passion for music and the joy that singing brings. I train from the ground-up with my students, and it is simultaneously a ton of fun and hard work. Obtaining a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from New York University really added to my extensive knowledge of Vocal Anatomy, Music Theory, and Repertoire. I want all of my students to feel vocally liberated and to maintain excellent vocal health, a priority in my lessons.
