About Daniel
What style do you want to play? I love to play it all. I mean it. So whatever moves you, we can work with that. I've played orchestral to hip-hop fusion, religious ceremonies to wine festivals, in motown, salsa, and funk bands, and with a jazz trio in a literal cave. So--it's up to you!

I can teach you all the basics in music (scales, intervals, basic melodies) so that they can be applied to any instrument you may pick up down the line.

Most of all, I'm happy to push you to be the best that you hope to be.

About the classes / What you will learn:
I welcome all students who are curious to learn and committed to practice. All levels and all ages are welcome; whether you’ve never touched the instrument before or you just need a little help fixing an embouchure issue, or even out those lip slurs (the never ending battle!!!). If needed I will provide a trombone for you to play during in-person rehearsals, as you find an instrument to rent or purchase.

These classes embrace a holistic teaching method, where principles of music are interwoven with observations about life on a larger scale. They can be taken taken in-person, in a rehearsal studio in New York, at your home, or virtually.

In intermediate lessons, and to solidify, build on, and better explain the basics, we will explore reading music, playing by ear, music theory (scales, chords, why they matter, and how to use them), how to practice, different genres of music (with and without trombone in them)

About the teacher:
I first picked up a trombone when I was 12, and have not put it down for the past 18 years. After being awarded an “Excellent Player” Award by the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society which led to the opportunity of performing with a professional Jazz Band, performing with a number of honor bands in middle and teaching at a music camp 3 summers of high school career. I decided to pursue music in College. I received a Bachelors of Music Classical Trombone Performance from California State University, San Jose. I’ve been performing professionally for 7 years and have played in every genre I could get my hands on (Classical, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Musicals, Ska, Electronic).

"Daniel has been teaching trombone to my teenage son. There are many aspects of his way of teaching that make him such an excellent teacher. First of of all, he is a true musician. He has an uncanny ability to share his passion for music before getting into teaching technicalities. He takes care of every musical aspect: musical knowledge, breath control, tone quality, tonguing, dynamics, and mutes. I highly recommend him. My only regret is that, since he left California, he will only be a treasure for New Yorkers...

I really like Daniel. His love for music is infectious. As a teacher, he's patient, crazy smart, and easy to be around. He's also a deep thinker, which makes him really good at using simple analogy to help me understand complex concepts. It's a fun way to learn. TBH I was very surprised to leave lessons not just having learned new ways of thinking about music, but also about myself, and how I can start moving out of my own way. I recommend Daniel without hesitation.

Such a great teacher, and you can be sure that she knows her stuff. But what I appreciated the most was the fact that she always made sure that I understood the lesson before we moved on to the next. Teachers this great, that truly care about helping their students reach their dreams, are hard to come by these days!

About Dylan
Hi! My name is Dylan T., aka Dyluxe, and I'm available for in-home, in-studio, and even online music lessons worldwide! I offer tutoring and mentoring on electronic music production with Ableton Live software, Ableton Push Hardware, and other software plug-ins, as well as DJing on the professional standard Rekordbox software with the Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus DJ system. All lessons are taught on a one-on-one basis and will be customized to your specific needs. Whatever your knowledge level or ability, I can teach you anything from the basics of electronic music to advanced production, engineering, and mixing techniques. My innovative hybrid curriculum will teach you to both create and perform your own original music. I have a complete in studio set up with all of the premiere tools you will need to achieve your goals. My goal is to help you
expand your knowledge of electronic music and DJing so you can bring your artistic visions to life.

I am an Ableton Certified Music Producer and Graduate of Dubspot Electronic Music School with a degree in DJing and Music Production. I also have a Bachelors Degree from San Diego State University. I am currently a resident DJ for OMNIA San Diego & Hakkasan group as well as an Internationally Touring DJ. I have performed at over 300 nightclubs, music festivals, and events worldwide alongside artists like The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Dillon Francis, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Steve Aoki, & many more.

Aside from my DJ career, I have a ton of experience teaching and working with children. I have always enjoyed teaching people and helping them to reach their goals. I started out at a young age as a babysitter for family friends. In high school, I took a job managing a local skatepark and giving skateboarding lessons. Once I moved to San Diego to attend SDSU, I took a side job as an activity leader for Harmonium, an after school program for elementary school students. During the summers, I also managed and taught skateboarding at the local YMCA Skateboarding Summer Camp.

Anyways, after I started to excel in my music career, friends and acquaintances started reaching out to me for advice and information. Ever since then I have been tutoring, mentoring, and helping my peers learn how to DJ, produce music, book shows, boost their marketing & much much more. I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your goals!

About Ben H.

Seattle, WA

I studied music production with Berklee School of Music and was awarded a professional certificate in Production with Ableton Live. I have used Ableton extensively in my home studio and my recordings have been licensed for use in tv and radio. My latest full band production (State Center by The Hasslers) has received radio play across the country and attention from notable music blogs such as Northwest Music Scene.

In our lessons I will pass on all of the Berklee techniques for Ableton as well as my own little tips and tricks. We'll begin by assessing your studio situation and your goals for Ableton and then build a lesson plan from there.

About Ben
I have taught bass, guitar, ukelele, recording, and rock band classes in several contemporary music school programs for over three years. I have discovered that I have a strong passion for teaching. Watching my students progress as musicians is the single most rewarding experience of my music career.
I studied bass guitar with renowned bassist Ryan Beck for 8 years and also took lessons on guitar, upright bass, and voice. I hold two certificates from Berklee School of Music; a Specialist Certificate in General Musical Studies and a Professional Certificate in Production With Ableton Live. From my home studio I produce my both my band and compositions for tv and radio. My song "City Lights" was recently used in a television spot for The Federal Way Chamber of Commerce.

My most notable performance work is with alt-country rocker
s, The Hasslers, in which I am the audio engineer, producer and bass player. I single-handedly recorded, mixed, and
produced our 2016 album, "State Center", which has received radio play across the US and positive attention from notable music blogs such as Northwest Music Scene. Stephen Carradini of Independent Clauses placed the album in his Top of 2016 list. With The Hasslers I have shared the stage with national touring acts such as Jason Isbell, Blitzen Trapper, Langhorne Slim and The Law, and The Cave Singers

I have also been an in-demand session player in numerous professional musical theater productions including Hair, Grease, and Phantom of The Opera.

Finally, after giving all my credentials, I'm a fun easygoing person! I want to build lessons around music that you are passionate about and have fun playing these songs with you. I love to teach and I would love to share my musical knowledge with you. Contact me for a free trial lesson!

My BA from the Berklee College of Music focused on using Ableton as an Industry Standard DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), and using it to produce music in a way that fits you and your style. Lessons on Ableton focus on how to use the program in all aspects, as both recording and production software.

About Eric
I think music is the most beautiful thing in the world, so lets take time to learn and play music together.
I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years, and been in over fifteen bands in the course of that time. I have a degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music were I studied music theory and focused on Music Production and Engineering. I have been playing Piano, Bass, and Guitar for about ten years in addition to the drums, and have been recorded in sessions on each. I have a deep passion for synthesizers and electronic music, so lets make some bleeps and bloops together.

I am extremely kind, friendly, and funny so lessons with me are very relaxed and have an easy to learn environment. However I am very passionate about teaching to fit student needs; so if a student likes deadlines and homework, if that is w
hat will help them learn the best, then that is how I will teach.
Lets make some sweet music together!!

Modern technological tools are revolutionizing the possibilities for musical artists. By learning about music production, you can have the sounds of the orchestra, rock band, and beyond all at your finger tips. I offer instruction in Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and other related plug-ins software and hardware equipment.

Depending on your goals, music production lessons can include instruction on synthesis, realistic sounding manipulation of samplers, recording, mixing and mastering. If these terms sound like Greek to you, that's fine too! All that is required for music production lessons, is an interest in creating music with a computer and other pieces of music technology.

I also offer lessons in composition, music theory, arranging, and piano performance. These subjects may also be included, if applicable. On the first lesson with a new student, I'll always go over the options for potential areas of study and work with the student to develop an appropriate course of study ...

About Ryan
Ryan is a composer, improviser, author, music theorist, pianist, music producer, and teacher. He has won awards for his original music, such as his first place award for Best Original Film Score in the Montgomery County Film Festival in 2011. He also has performed in prestigious venues like the Takoma Park Jazz Festival and the Siemens Competition Awards Ceremony hosted in the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.

Ryan writes and performs in a variety of styles ranging from classical to jazz to electronic. He has experience writing music for large ensembles such as orchestras and jazz big bands. As a music producer, he has worked with big and small groups of musicians alike in professional-level recording studio environments. His expertise also extends to the mixing, mastering, and synthesis applications of music technology that have become so
central to the modern music industry.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production. He was accepted in 2013 with a scholarship and finished the four-year program only two and half years later. He has studied with great teachers such as the amazing composer and concert pianist Jeffrey Chappell. He has also studied guitar performance on the side and experiments with different instruments whenever he can. In recent years, Ryan has focused on teaching workshops, classes for small groups, private lessons, and on creating his new book The Theory and Creation of Music.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Ryan also has a profound passion for self-growth, psychology, and spirituality. He is well-versed in a number of different self-development practices including Vipassana meditation, circling, and re-evaluation co-counseling. Complementing his practical experience, he has also developed a deep understanding of related intellectual fields like integral theory, developmental psychology, and eastern philosophy. Ryan plans to write his next book on his newly created system of self-growth: Adoga.

Ryan has a passion for creating and playing music that he clearly wants to share with those new to the art as well as those with experience. His joy is greatest when he is able to foster musical connections for others and help them grow in their own enthusiasm and understanding. Ryan is a an excellent teacher; patient and kind. If you are looking for a task master, Ryan is not your guy. But if you are looking for someone who can spark passion and a deeper appreciation for the craft of creating and playing music, there is no better person I can recommend.
