Hi there! My name is Andy and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2002 and have loved helping my students to become good guitarists and musicians. I went to Berklee College of Music and earned a Bachelor of Music in 2002 (Magna Cum Laude).
I'm an open-minded and optimistic person. I have taught hundreds of students over the years and have developed a lot of my own teaching materials along the way. I'm very flexible in the way I teach and I always try to find out what type of learners my students are, so I can design a personalized practice plan for fast progress. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
He was amazing! My son could not be happier. Super great guy and wonderful teacher.

Andy was my guitar instructor for more than year. He is a master in theory and practice and is able to bring you to the highest levels. The breath of learning opportunities he offers in terms of techniques, styles, rhythms, songs etc is huge and allows for training and development in the desired areas at every possible level. And he can back up the lessons by the underlying music theory as needed. In practice, Andy quickly spots where issues lie and provides useful hints to overcome technical problems. In addition he offers useful material which helps when practicing at home.

Andy taught me a lot about playingstyles (Rock- & Jazz) and chord- & songbuliding. He was my teacher for more than 2 years and i wish i had taken my lessons a lot earlier.
Various lessons available focused on the guitar as an extension of the player. Emphasis on tone and style, over technique - it's not how many notes you can play, it's what you do with them.
I can't wait to work with you! I am passionate about the subjects I teach, and find nothing can compare to seeing a student "get it", so they may too enjoy the passion that comes from learning and doing something they love.
Everything I teach I've learned most completely by doing as a Professional, and find great reward in sharing my experience and knowledge with my students.
When the "aha" light goes on, it's truly a wonderful moment for me, and encourages me to drive my students to build towards more of those moments as students, and then ultimately, for themselves as they learn to grow for themselves.
Richard is so patient and knowledgeable. I am very happy with our lessons. Because of my background with classical guitar he wondered if the fact that he doesn't read music and I am renewing my mind back into it would not be a good teaching set-up. Not at all. I now have an electric guitar and the five years spent playing classical, now fifteen years ago, did not give me a good foundation for understanding music theory unfortunately. I have a genre I had already picked out fingerstyle electric and now with some thinking my way through the basics I did have I still need to learn just basic strumming etc. I understand what he is referring to in music so we still speak in the same key. Also and lastly my daughter has a severe seizure/dementia disorder that is very unpredictable and our caregiver's mom just passed away so there will be times when I just can't do a week/day. He has been very understanding. I am smiling from my soul because music is my healing path for difficult stuff I couldn't pay any doctor/therapist to even call me back for. Thank you so much for your assistance. Sincerely Teresa

Thanks again for your time and info yesterday. I will email you soon, and we will figure out when we should meet for our next class.
Areas of Focus: - Solo Skills & Improvisation - Music Theory - Technique - Learning Songs & Solos
*** PLEASE MESSAGE ME PRIOR TO SIGNING UP FOR LESSONS TO DISCUSS GOALS, ANY BACKGROUND YOU HAVE IN YOUR TOPIC, AND ARRANGE THE BEST TIME & PLACE FOR MEETING. ***
Are you looking to learn Guitar, Singing, Beatboxing or Songwriting? No matter what style you are in to, I can help you build the skills, confidence, & practice strategies to become a successful musician. Beginners, Intermediate, & Advanced all welcome!
Majoring in classical guitar performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts I was a part of many performance opportunities. These included solo classical guitar recitals, weekly performance class, a collaboration with the Columbia City Jazz Dance Company, and a performance at the Columbia Museum of Art to name a few. Now I frequently participate in songwriting showcases, street performances, and collaborati
ons with bands and music groups of many different genres.
In a lesson with me you will be focusing on four main areas:
1] REPERTOIRE: Songs you are working on in preparation for performance or just to play for fun! 2] MUSIC THEORY: Exercises in ear training, note-reading skills, sight-reading skills, and overall knowledge of how music works. 3] IMPROVISATION: Learn drills to improve solo skills and increase your confidence jamming with other musicians. 4] TECHNIQUE: Guitar lessons focuses on how to properly use the left and right hands in a way that that is relaxed and tension free. Voice lessons entail learning how to breath properly, prevent vocal strain, and expand your range.
In addition to instrument lessons I also provide Songwriting Lessons, Music Theory Lessons, and Music Performance Lessons for more advanced students + I teach Recording, Web Design, and Graphic Design subjects for Artists or others looking to learn how to promote themselves or their projects. (Subjects Include: Logic Pro X, WordPress, Web Design, Graphic Design, HTML, CSS, & More!)
Get started on your path to better musicianship today!
Expect to learn the vocabulary for parts of the guitar as well as the amplifier. This class is cool because we get to talk a bit about frequency’s, the range of guitars, and how it pertains to the knobs on the guitar and amp. Oh yeah, and shred distorted licks! The class will require an amp, and I can provide one if needed.
I am a jazz guitarist based out of beautiful Los Angeles, California. I received and Associate of Arts degree in Music in 2015, and have been pursuing a bachelors in Jazz Studies since then.
While in community college I really grew into my own as a musician and discovered that I love jazz and the language of bebop. Not only the music, but the history of how it formed as well as the differences from classical music. When at school I stood out from the other guitarists because I was hungry to learn and that attitude will hopefully follow me for the rest of my life.
Thats what I'd hope to pass on the students; that knowledge, be it music, english, math, physiology, etc. is the key to everything. And that it doesn't have to be all stuffy and boring! I tailor my lessons to the student whether its guitar, piano, ukulele, etc. and my main
objective is to learn and have fun, so the learning is reinforced with good natured thoughts. This will set up the student to actually want to practice!
As a musician I've been in a couple of groups, and lately I have been concentrating on my students as well as continuing school in 2020. I also try to utilize the computer to produce when possible so I can learn about that aspect of music. My passion is improvisation/composition, because I hope to one day leave songs behind that people can play forever and be influenced by them like so many have influenced me.
Any style at any experience level, I can help you be the player you want to be and learn more about your favorite players and genres of music.
My name is Tim C and I'm a music teacher at North Andover High School. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016, majoring in Guitar Performance. I am well-educated and well-versed in many styles including blues, funk, R&B, classical, and rock. My only goal in teaching my students is to assist them in reaching their own goals and accomplishing what they want to achieve as a musician or guitar player.
I have been playing guitar as my main instrument for almost 20 years. I am a multi-instrumentalist who writes, records, and produces his own alternative/indie rock music (check me out on Spotify, Apple, Soundcloud, Amazon, Google!).
We can develop a lesson plan specifically for what you want to accomplish: covering your favorite songs, writing original songs, improvising, reading music/tabs, and "shredding".
Hello! My name is Taylor and I have been playing guitar since I was 10 (that puts me around 20 years experience at this point in my life). I have picked up singing, drums, piano, and bass since then. I write and record my own music in my own “studio” during free time from work. I occasionally will play cover sets at venues/events for $$$.
I have had 3-4 students in my life and I believe each has met their goals partly from my teaching, but mostly by their own commitment to put the time into practicing what I tell/show them. I have 1 student that just graduated ASU for guitar performance, and another student that writes/records/plays out with his band.
If you are willing to listen and put time in to what I ask you to practice then we should be able to accomplish what you are aiming for in music!
We'll work on guitar fundamentals, sound, technique, combined with learning music from the artists that inspire you. We'll decide on a couple short-term and long-term goals, which will help you see your progress and keep you motivated! I can also teach you the fundamentals of music theory and ear training; perfect for someone planning on applying to music college.
I'm a professional guitar player from Norway and a recent graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music. I'm currently doing my graduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music. I have toured in places like Argentina, Norway and Japan, and have played some of New York's most famous jazz rooms like Smalls and Dizzy's club at the Lincoln Center, and other notable east coast venues like the Side Door, Scullers, Regattabar and South Jazz Kitchen. I am comfortable showing you the ropes for any style you enjoy within contemporary music, such as rock, pop and jazz. I have won several notable awards and scholarships for my playing and writing, including the notable Berklee Jimi Hendrix award. I am excited to be working with you!
Lesson topics could be: - Guitar fundamentals, technique and sound - Pop/Rock/Jazz guitar playing - Impro
visation - How to learn from your heroes and favorite recordings - Ear training - Preparation for music college auditions/entrance exams
Schedule notes: As I am a full time graduate student, I try to keep most of my teaching to Saturday and Sunday, and possibly Friday. However, you are free to contact me for other times, if these days are very inconvenient for you of course, and I'll try my best to work with you!
Age/experience notes: If you're booking for your child I'd recommend booking 30min lessons, maximum 45min lessons. I'll recommend the same time frame for any age if you are a complete beginner, as I can show you more than enough helpful material in 30mins, that'll keep you busy!
Tim is an amazing teacher! I recently started playing guitar and Tim has helped me improve with each lesson. He is kind, understanding, patient, and knowledgable. Tim teaches students of all levels. If you do well in your lesson, he might even treat you to a homemade Norwegian cat cookie:)

Had a great lesson with Tim! I got a lot of helpful advice and while having a great time!!
I am totally passionate about teaching, and I provide that spark that motivates my students into getting the best out of themselves.
I follow a modern customer-oriented approach based on win-win and long term success. The guitar student is an aspiring virtuoso, and I am as patient as possible with the students and following their own desires.
As long as he/she focuses on the image of the perfect player he/she wishes to become, I am committed to the full extend to motivate, encourage, help, assist, suggest improvements, correct mistakes, answer questions and everything that will speed up the student's ramp-up into becoming that perfect player.
Master professional guitarist with 25 years of experience playing a large variety of genres such as classical, blues, jazz, country, heavy-metal, flamenco, and more.
Cosmopolitan modern musician, songwriter, and improviser with a worldwide background including European, Latin, African, Middle-Eastern and Asian genres.
Exceptionally trained musical ears allowing seamless integration and pairing with bands and music setups.
Experienced guitar instructor and mentor focusing on achieving personal goals of each of my students coming from various skills, ages, backgrounds, and locations
Great band leadership and team-building skills based on goal driven and a win-win approach.
As a music guitar lover, I have been sharing my passion for my art gradually as soon as I ramped up my instrumental mastery. I have been free
lancing with guitar mentorship and tutorship for about 10 years now, and have had students from all over the world.
I mainly specialize in 2 types of students: - Entry level students who are just getting started. Sometimes these students don't even own an instrument, sometimes they barely know what a guitar is made of. - Players with a few years of playing guitar abilities who stalled for various reason: not enough practice, not enough motivation, bad habits initially acquired that hindered their progressions.
I can play a large variety of genres, from blues to jazz, metal to flamenco, classical to folk, etc. I stress on acquiring good habits early on while adapting to the student specific skills, or sometimes, limitations.
I usually group all guitar skills in 3 different categories: - Chords - Arpeggios - Solos I then break all the unique intricacies and specificities based on the student interest and existing skill. Everything else depends on the student's favorite genre. My standard procedure is to pick 3 songs from a genre that the student wants to play, ordered by level of difficulty, and break them down into fragments that subsequently constitute the homework for the next sessions.
My specialty is to make sure the student eventually becomes self-reliant and independent. I teach them the power of their ears. I teach them techniques to help them improve their ears to be able to play any song that they would like in the long term. There is a bit of theory involved, but it's mostly practice.
I am totally passionate about teaching, and I provide that spark that motivates my students into getting the best out of themselves.
I follow the students own desires. I use a modern customer-oriented approach based on win-win and long term success. The guitar student is an aspiring virtuoso. Best instructor ever
June 2, 2019
Mr. Allouch is an excellent instructor. For me, placing my fingers on the guitar is hard, but he taught me to put my fingers in a perpendicular position and to make sure to press hard on the string so it will make a good sound. Thanks to that advice, it is easier to play the notes correctly. He has made it fun for me to learn guitar. He is an excellent guitar player and I am very happy that he has shared his passion with me. Merci beaucoup Mr. Allouch!
"Jonathan is a great guitar teacher, he's very knowledgeable and does a good job of helping you understand the guitar. A great aspect of Jonathan's guitar
lessons is that he shows you how to apply technical information (chords, scales, arpeggios, triads, etc.) to actual music.
Book your next guitar lesson with Jonathan, you will be glad you did!"
"Greg had ne understanding more advanced techniques like sweep picking and tapping, he also introduced me to new musicians work that I would've likely miss
ed, and these artists gave me further inspiration."
"Morgan teaches theory from the beginning. Because of that I was able to fill in the gaps in my knowledge and have improved my soloing and riffing a lot."
"Jerry's a great teacher with a lot of patience. He's easy to connect with and always makes the lessons fun."
"Hands down a great teacher. Very experienced, and knowledgable about anything you might want to learn. Great with all ages. He always finds a way to make
lessons fun so you want to come to the next one every time."
"Jeff is great! Very well prepared. His lessons will help me improve and reach my guitar playing goals."
"Matthew is a great teacher. He is very knowledgeable & patient. He always answers my son’s questions, gives him advise and homework. My son has learned a
lot from Matthew and he always looks forward to his Guitar lessons. We are both very happy with matthew. If you need guitar lessons, contact Matthew. You won’t regret it. he is an excellent teacher."
"Ahmad is a fantastic teacher. No matter what skill level you are coming in, he can make you better. He makes sure that lessons focus on the songs/topics t
hat you are interested in and has great patience.
Many times we think of learning guitar, or music in general, as a daunting task, but Ahmad has shown me how to think about playing guitar in a way that is approachable. He does a great job of mixing in theory where appropriate/necessary and will give more confidence in your ability to learn this great instrument than you have ever had!"
