Hi there and thanks for visiting! I have been playing guitar, singing, writing and producing music for the greater part of my life. My endeavor is to guide you to an understanding of one or many of these facets and give you the tools you need to become your own teacher as you continue down this path.
Below is a brief synopsis about the lessons I teach:
Guitar/Songwriting:
There will be very little music theory. I never needed much of it to write my own music, other than a few basic theories to get around successfully, so it’s not something we’ll spend a whole lot of time on. I have organized and constructed a course book to keep things lively and moving along efficiently. I call it NOTEbOOK. It’s also great refresher material to revisit in the future.
I teach basic guitar with accented professional appeal and rhythmic structure. My intention is to guide you to create your own original music using straightforward techniques. My goal, once we part ways, is for you to leave ...
About Lorin
I’ll never forget my first singer/songwriter experience when I was 17. I watched my neighbor play guitar and sing on his porch. That moment changed my life and set me on the road I’m on today. Music and poetry can be transcendent when there is truth and love behind it.
At 18, I formed a transitory first band, The Screaming Poets. Shortly after, while attending Columbia College Chicago for creative writing, I organized another project called Satori. This group featured an accoutrement of musicians and styles over the course of its existen
Post-Satori and a plethora of songs later, I fell into the world of electronic music production and engineering, getting hands-on with computer software and a keyboard controller. Furthering my advancement in the technological arts, I attended SAE Institute of Technology located in the heart of New York City. I graduated from the program with high standings.
The introduction to electronic music was a seed planted many years ago working with a friend producer and DJ. Over the years that seed developed into a unique cohesion of computer production with organic guitar songwriting. The electronica artist Loryn was born from this elemental form of designing music. Jointly, signed as Loryn with GoDIY Records, I began offering a licensing/production service for other artists, pitching my original remixes of their songs to opportunities in television.
Under Loryn, in 2011, I began releasing monthly newsletters to my fans and subscribers. In addition to artist updates, my passion for writing naturally crept in and became part of the newsletters. I have recently compiled these newsletters, as well as other works, into an anthology of poetry, prose, and flash fiction published in 2015.
Music… Writing… Teaching… Production… Whatever reason you’re here today, I’d love to learn more and possibly join you on your journey.

I have been using Ableton for over 5 years, with a lot of experience using it in live performances as well as composition/production. I personally love ableton, I think it is the best DAW out there and definitely the one I'm most familiar with. I used it for most of my Electronic Production & Design projects at Berklee. Additionally I taught kids ages 13-18 how to use Ableton at the West End House Boys & Girls Club in Allston, MA for 2-3 years. I currently teach music production to quite a few students at my home studio, doing in-home lessons, and teaching online - my current students range from teens to adults. Furthermore, I've had tracks which I have produced (in Ableton) selected by Berklee's Electronic Production & Design Dept. (EPD) to be played for internationally acclaimed sound designer/producer/composer Richard Devine, during his 2014 seminar at Berklee. I was also selected as a finalist for a remix competition at the 2nd International Csound Conference in 2013 (for another ...

About Dylan
I am an Ableton Certified Music Producer and Graduate of Dubspot Electronic Music School with a degree in DJing and Music Production. I also have a Bachelors Degree from San Diego State University. I am currently a resident DJ for OMNIA San Diego & Hakkasan group as well as an Internationally Touring DJ. I have performed at over 300 nightclubs, music festivals, and events worldwide alongside artists like The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Dillon Francis, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Steve Aoki, & many more.
Aside from my DJ career, I have a ton of experience teaching and working with children. I have always enjoyed teaching people and helping them to reach their goals. I started out at a young age as a babysitter for family friends. In high school, I took a job managing a local skatepark and giving skateboarding lessons. Once I moved to San Diego to attend SDSU, I took a side job as an activity leader for Harmonium, an after school program for elementary school students. During the summers, I also managed and taught skateboarding at the local YMCA Skateboarding Summer Camp.
Anyways, after I started to excel in my music career, friends and acquaintances started reaching out to me for advice and information. Ever since then I have been tutoring, mentoring, and helping my peers learn how to DJ, produce music, book shows, boost their marketing & much much more. I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your goals!

Even if you've never touched Ableton before, I will get you creating right away :) As a self-produced synth-pop artist under the moniker mini bear, I have experience teaching at both beginner and advanced levels. Having taught one-on-one in various environments, including at Apple, I have the ability to translate seemingly difficult concepts into relatable information. I have a strong background in music theory, songwriting, and synthesis, and I will show you how you can best use Ableton as a creative tool to reach your artistic potential.
About Lauren

- Music Production
- Drumset / drumming
Before we get into my lesson structure, a little about me and why I know I can help. Why should you listen to me if I don't know my background? :)
I am a full-time music producer, musician, and DJ. I started playing percussion in 6th grade, which was 14 years ago. Since then, I've literally immersed myself in music about as much as you can!
I've competed in honor and all-state band for 7 years in a row throughout middle and high school, was 1 of 6 awarded into the Governor's Honors program for percussion in 2010, and was the only recipient of a jazz drum set scholarship at Georgia College in 2011. Our high sch
As far as music production goes, it's now my main focus. I started learning the ins and outs of music production in high school in 2010. Since then, I've taken courses in music technology throughout college, made music as a hobby, then took the full leap in January of 2016. I'm on the journey now and since that time I've had some pretty amazing things happen. I produce music almost every day, so everything you learn from me is what's current and what works!
Music has always been my life. I was INCREDIBLY lucky to have been fostered and taught by some of the most passionate and selfless music teachers in the state. Now that I am old enough to realize it, they literally shaped my life and helped me become the person I am today. What if I can give back in the same way and help students learn to discover what they truly love?
Flash forward to today and I'm hustling harder than ever. After graduating from The University of Georgia in 2015 with a degree in Management and Music Business, and a minor in Music Technology, I am a full-time, touring music producer and DJ. I reside in Virginia Highlands (very safe, family-friendly area) in Atlanta and have my own house, studio, and drum set, in which I can tutor you. In person - or online!
My expertise:
* Drumming / Drum Set
* Music Production (Ableton)
-----------------------------------------
DRUMS
Because of my extensive background in percussion, I can teach the fundamentals of drumming, whether on a pad or on drum set.
Drumming styles I can teach: Jazz, Latin , Funk , Rock , Swing , Metal, Classical
Drumming techniques I can teach: Syncopation , Chop-Building Exercises, Coordination , Double-Bass Drum technique, Rudiments, prep for Honor Band or All- State, scales on the piano
Can even teach you the drum part to just about any song! Yes really, if that's what you want!

That's when I found Joey - and this guy knows his stuff. He's been producing for a few years now and after listening to his music, I could tell he was the real deal. I just started my lessons not long ago, but so far he's helped me in Ableton tremendously. I'm able to understand the various plug-ins, create new sounds when I get that creative "spark" instead of just bumbling around, and now I can actually finish a song.
I fully recommend Joey, he's super patient and has made this process just so much easier for me.

What I truly love about Ableton is that it offers anybody the opportunity to create music without any formal training. Like myself, you may not be a skilled concert pianist, or have the ability to shred guitar like Jimi Hendrix, but thats Ok! Thanks to Ableton anyone can music at the drop of a hat. I have been using Ableton for 8 years now, producing in the genres of Hip Hop, Trap, Indie Rock, Nu- Disco, Bass House, and many more. Unlike other DAWs, Ableton offers its user's the ability to experiment with limitless possibilities. Its ease of use and dedication to efficient performance make it a staple to any modern studio.
