There will be very little music theory. I never needed much of it to write my own music, other than a few basic theories to get around successfully, so it’s not something we’ll spend a whole lot of time on. I have organized and constructed a course book to keep things lively and moving along efficiently. I call it NOTEbOOK. It’s also great refresher material to revisit in the future.

I’ve been a writer and musician since I was a teenager, and have been teaching music lessons for over a decade. I began journaling at 15, mostly free-writing and poetry. This was my segway into guitar and songwriting. Over the years, piece by piece, I’ve gathered many angles to my myriad profession.
I’ll never forget my first singer/songwriter experience when I was 17. I watched my neighbor play guitar and sing on his porch. That moment changed my life and set me on the road I’m on today. Music and poetry can be transcendent when there is truth and love behind it.

Furthering my advancement in the technological arts, I attended SAE Institute of Technology located in the heart of New York City. I graduated from the program with high standings.

Over the years that seed developed into a unique cohesion of computer production with organic guitar songwriting. The electronica artist Loryn was born from this elemental form of designing music. Jointly, signed as Loryn with GoDIY Records, I began offering a licensing/production service for other artists, pitching my original remixes of their songs to opportunities in television.
Under Loryn, in 2011, I began releasing monthly newsletters to my fans and subscribers. In addition to artist updates, my passion for writing naturally crept in and became part of the newsletters. I have recently compiled these newsletters, as well as other works, into an anthology of poetry, prose, and flash fiction published in 2015.

I personally love ableton, I think it is the best DAW out there and definitely the one I'm most familiar with. I used it for most of my Electronic Production & Design projects at Berklee. Music has always been my life. I was INCREDIBLY lucky to have been fostered and taught by some of the most passionate and selfless music teachers in the state. Now that I am old enough to realize it, they literally shaped my life and helped me become the person I am today. Flash forward to today and I'm hustling harder than ever. After graduating from The University of Georgia in 2015 with a degree in Management and Music Business, and a minor in Music Technology, I am a full-time, touring music producer and DJ. That's when I found Joey - and this guy knows his stuff. He's been producing for a few years now and after listening to his music, I could tell he was the real deal. I just started my lessons not long ago, but so far he's helped me in Ableton tremendously. I'm able to understand the various plug-ins, create new sounds when I get that creative "spark" instead of just bumbling around, and now I can actually finish a song.

What I truly love about Ableton is that it offers anybody the opportunity to create music without any formal training. Like myself, you may not be a skilled concert pianist, or have the ability to shred guitar like Jimi Hendrix, but thats Ok! Thanks to Ableton anyone can music at the drop of a hat. I have been using Ableton for 8 years now, producing in the genres of Hip Hop, Trap, Indie Rock, Nu- Disco, Bass House, and many more. Unlike other DAWs, Ableton offers its user's the ability to experiment with limitless possibilities. Its ease of use and dedication to efficient performance make it a staple to any modern studio.

From working with hip hop producers like Metro Boomin & Araaab Muzik, to recording a 20 piece orchestra, one thing they all have in common is an undeniable passion for sharing their story.
