Berklee College of Music student who majored in Electronic Music Production & Sound Design, as well as Music Business. I was also mentored by a platinum selling producer. I love helping others and giving back the knowledge I have in music. I grew up classically trained on the clarinet. I can help you take your career to the next level by understanding audio, mixing, production, mastering, and more.

About Jarod

I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a dual major in Electronic Music Production & Sound Design, as well as Music Business. I actually learned from this site in the past and it taught me so much about music and production. I discovered the joy of giving back and teaching, and would love

Jarod is a great teacher. He knows how to tailor lessons to the students preferred learning methods. Sessions with him will make you feel like you have a mentor more than just an instructor. You can tell he is invested and passionate about helping people acheive their goals.

As the other reviewers wrote, Jarod is the real deal! You can see some of his work on Google Play Music under Jarod Glawe.

Currently, he does audio engineering and mixing for Rapper Twista, nothing to sneeze at, right? He's signed as a pop dance producer, working in EDM and house. So he focuses on more of the electronic top 40, i.e. he's worked with The Chain Smokers. Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. In Chicago, hip hop is the main thing. Some of the biggest rappers come out from Chicago, but most of his music comes out of Amsterdam.

He gave me the basics of Ableton, which was GREAT. I learned about EQ, compression, reverb, delay and phasors. We took a song by Bonobo (Ketto) and tried to reverse engineer all the tracks. This was hard, but in so doing, I got exposure to Splice and a host of amazing plug-ins. Every lesson was eye opening for me. I felt like I was dipping my toes into a vast ocean, and like a kid in a candy shop. These were awesome. Highly recommended.

I'm a vocalist, and Jarod knows how to encourage me, push me, and get the most out of a recording session. He is a perfectionist and won't allow for mediocre sessions. I will return to his studio in the future!

I have used Ableton Live for over ten years. I use it for recording, producing, and live performance. There are many Ableton controllers that I am familiar with such as the Push, Push II, APC40, and Launchpad. My education comes from a self taught practice, as well as having a Music Technology B.A. from Cal State San Bernardino.

I was one of the first 4 Ableton certified trainer's world-wide and have been re-certified several times since. You can find my CT profile on the Ableton website.

I started the first US Ableton curriculum at the legendary Dubspot in NYC, where I was also teaching for 8 years, both in the physical school and online.
i've been teaching Ableton at Garnish Music since 2017 where I co-wrote the curriculum.

As a long time electronic music producer I'm familiar with Logic, Po-Tools and I'm also a Native Instruments specialist, having created curricula for sound design with Komplete and Maschine at the above schools.

Over the years I worked in many musical style, from hiphop to house, techno, synth wave and downtempo bass music styles, having been an active artist/producer with major label credentials myself since the beginnings of electronic pop music while also collaborating in the studio with many artists.

I speak English, German, French and also some Italian.

I have been using Ableton for over 5 years, with a lot of experience using it in live performances as well as composition/production. I personally love ableton, I think it is the best DAW out there and definitely the one I'm most familiar with. I used it for most of my Electronic Production & Design projects at Berklee. Additionally I taught kids ages 13-18 how to use Ableton at the West End House Boys & Girls Club in Allston, MA for 2-3 years. I currently teach music production to quite a few students at my home studio, doing in-home lessons, and teaching online - my current students range from teens to adults. Furthermore, I've had tracks which I have produced (in Ableton) selected by Berklee's Electronic Production & Design Dept. (EPD) to be played for internationally acclaimed sound designer/producer/composer Richard Devine, during his 2014 seminar at Berklee. I was also selected as a finalist for a remix competition at the 2nd International Csound Conference in 2013 (for another ...

Josh is always easy to be around and is able to form any lesson around what I wanted to do, as well as teach me loads of new ideas if I hadn’t planned anything. He has greatly helped improve my own production and give me insight into what professional producers do to set themselves apart. He’s great to work with and always in an uplifting mood.
Chris
Josh is an awesome teacher. He is patient and supportive and always comes up with ways to connect me to the concept he’s teaching. I asked to learn drums “the right way” so we spend a ton of time on fundamental exercises that i suspect are boring for him but he never shows it. He is always upbeat and positive and I enjoy our lessons a lot. Could not recommend him more highly.

My son has been taking lessons with Alex for over five years. They have developed a fabulous rapport and mutual respect. Alex challenges my son and helps to further his skill level and technique.
