Great first day!

I recently started taking lessons with Kenny to try to learn some basic lead guitar in a one on one setting. I've been very impressed with his preparation, taking the time to tailor the lesson to my level of play and the music I am interested in playing. He also is very encouraging and is interested in my learning and progress, even going beyond the one hour lesson time to ensure that I have the tools necessary to continue to work at home.

I haven't played the violin since I was in middle school, and I wanted to re-learn to play it. I am so glad I picked Dave, he is very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I jumped in with both feet and Dave made the instructions at our first lesson easy for me to understand. Excellent location and studio is awesome.
Rushia Hendricks
Excellent lesson. Does a wonderful job at taking older students and gently holding their feet to the fire to bring out the best- even under the most challenging of circumstances. Kudos to being such a uniquely great teacher!
Tom L.
I realize it was the first lesson but I was a little disappointed that we spend nearly the entire time on housekeeping items, like canceling and re-scheduling appointments. I think that could have been covered with an e-mail or handout. I also thought we spent too much time going over the differences between acoustic and electric guitars - considering my age and background. Would have liked to see him demonstrate what I was asked to practice before the next lesson instead of just being told to refer to the workbook.

My lessons are designed to get my students playing songs and building technique as soon as possible. Because, that’s fun!
I’ve been playing professionally for over 35 years and teaching for over 25 years. I’ve been fortunate to play in several high-profile signed bands (Over the Rhine, Monk and Pay the Girl) and toured all over the world and played on lots of recordings. Fun!
As a teacher, I’ve founds many ways to explain and share this wonderful world of music; because not everyone learns the same way.

Mike is an amazing guitar teacher. We started out having face to face lessons but then Covid-19 made that impossible. We started online lessons and the way Mike teaches online is the same way he does face to face. My son has learned so much and is playing better every day. Mike is vigilant when teaching and is able to show and correct hand movement, eye movement and posture when playing the guitar. I highly recommend Mike Georgin for online guitar lessons for anyone who is wanting to learn the guitar!
Malina
Mike has been the perfect teacher for my 11 year old daughter as she is learning to play bass! He has concentrated on proper technique, reading music, hearing the music, and nuances of what to expect when she gets a “gig” one of these days. He does an excellent job of building on basics and sprinkling in the fun songs so she can also play along with a couple songs she hears on the radio to keep her inspired to learn. I have been amazed with Mike’s ability to relate to someone brand new to the instrument while it is obvious that he, himself, has a very in-depth formally trained skillset himself and knowledge base. I would highly recommend Mike to both new and advanced players alike, for this very reason!
Jim
Mike Georgin is an outstanding instructor. He truly has a gift for teaching. I never stopped being amazed at the depth of his knowledge and professional musical capabilities. His music education plus years of on-stage and recording experience come together in each and every lesson. Mike is very patient, understanding, and works to be sure the lesson concepts are mastered without any pressure. If you just want to play some bass, Mike's your guy! If you want to play bass and learn music theory, Mike's your guy! Mike has the knowledge and experience to go as deep as you, the student, wish to go. I promise you will not regret having Mike as your instructor! He is awesome!

Expect to learn the vocabulary for parts of the guitar as well as the amplifier. This class is cool because we get to talk a bit about frequency’s, the range of guitars, and how it pertains to the knobs on the guitar and amp. Oh yeah, and shred distorted licks! The class will require an amp, and I can provide one if needed.

About Chris

I've been teaching guitar for over 30 years, and several of my students have gone on to perform professionally in various musical styles over the years, and a few even own music stores! Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play your favorite songs, and as time goes on you'll be able to build up a set of songs to perform, if you so desire! I specialize in rock and metal guitar, typically use several different books and lesson pains of my own creation, and have the following tools available for your lessons: an amplifier. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

"Ahmad is the BEST! I usually feel pretty self-conscious when learning something new, but never the case with Ahmad. Weekly lessons were always super fun and a great escape from work. He individualizes his classes and keeps your preferred genre in mind. He even wrote out the music based on youtube videos of my favorite songs (guitar or not!) Very talented and knowledgeable about his craft. Cannot think of one negative thing. SUPERB!"

"As someone who has played guitar for over ten years and taken lessons from several other accomplished guitar teachers, I can safely say that Ahmad is the best guitar teacher I've taken lessons from.

He determines what you hope to take away from the lessons and what your goals are as a player and is very dedicated to finding a way to get you there that is both educational and enjoyable. His instruction is very flexible and has no hesitation dropping one exercise and focusing more on styles of learning that are suitable for you as a student.

For someone who has been playing for a long time he was quickly able to open up a whole new set of possibilities and refresh the instrument for me as well as better my understanding of music harmony and melody in general."
