I hope to help students of all levels with technique, interpretation, and musicality. After a 30-year long career singing opera internationally, I hope to share my knowledge and experiences with students with a similar passion. I have worked with and learned from world-renowned musicians including Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, Richard Boning, Edita Gruberova, and many more.

A recent Berklee College of Music Graduate, with over 4 years international experience, I teach a wide range of genres ranging from Classical to Jazz and Pop. I am a performing vocalist with two bands and play frequently in the SoCal region. Using this experience I will help you build a solid vocal technique with my vocal exercise regime. I am a firm believer in healthy vocal training to help keep your voice in great shape and free from strain. Wanting to sing that impressive song, but felt you haven't got the skill set needed? I will assist you on your musical journey, step by step to help you reach your full singing potential.

I have taught classical vocal lessons in the past, and I feel they are a strong foundation for any type of singing style. I like to focus on breathing techniques, pronunciation, scales/vocal warm-ups, getting a nice tone, note recognition, head voice vs. chest voice.

As a teacher, I strive to encourage, inspire and create an atmosphere for learning that is uniquely different for each of my students. My teaching style focuses on important skills but also emphasizes self-exploration and perhaps discovering a passion for something new. Cherilyn has had 40+ years experience as a working actor-singer, performing leading and supporting roles Off-Broadway, in regional and local theatre, on national and international tours, TV, concerts, commercials, cabaret and voice-overs as well as internationally with the USO. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA. She has appeared with Hollywood and Broadway celebrities Joel Grey, Alexis Smith, Ron Perlman, Kelly Bishop, Randy Graff, John LaMotta, Janna Robbins, J.P. Dougherty, Merlin Olsen and Victoria Principal.

For four years, Cherilyn was a popular radio talk show producer and host, featuring an arts and entertainment show weekly. She is an experienced speechwriter, acting-speaking coach.
