I teach you to be a musician, not just an instrumentalist. There is a huge difference. I give you material to learn while doing my best to make it fun as well. I teach you the basics and build on that foundation. You can learn the material as fast or as slow as you want. However, it is not a canned approach because every student is unique and your learning styles reflect that. My goal is your success, truly!

I'm 26 years old and have been playing the guitar for 20 years. I will teach you what you want to learn. Whether it's scales, theory or some of your favorite songs. I've performed with the original Beatles drummer Pete Best, I've shared the stage with Greg Hawkes from The Cars. I play in 2 Beatles tribute bands and I have my own original band. I currently teach at 2 music schools and have experience teaching all ages and all levels. I can teach you the tools you need to really connect with the instrument.

Music is an exploration. Human beings are musical by nature. We walk to a beat, we dance to a beat, we communicate to a beat, and our hearts beat to a beat. My goal as a music teacher is provide knowledge in how we can use music to express ourselves. Through our musical exploration it is important to learn from everyone, follow no one, watch for patterns and most importantly to work every hard!

My educational background is from Arizona State University, where I studied music therapy and guitar. I received guitar instruction from Frank Koonce who is internationally acclaimed as a performer, teacher, and writer.

Through my studies as a music therapist, I have learned and practiced various way to provide the best instruction and musical experience to students of all ages and learning styles.

Due to covid-19 it is important to continue to grow and learn new skills. I have invested in high quality video cameras and audio equipment to provide the best quality lessons.

Through the foundation I've gained by the influences of Mel Bay, Hal Leonard, and Suzuki musical instruction methods, I compile my own teaching materials. Using personally constructed guitar lessons, I demonstrate, instruct, and guide the student based on my assessment of their individual needs, skill level, and progress. Lessons are formulated in Modules, and advancement through them is based on the student's personal aptitude, skill level, and practice commitment. Learning is accomplished by ear as well as through essential methods of musical notation (tablature, 5-line staff, rhythmic comprehension). Students are trained to perform written music as well as to write and express the music within themselves.
I'm an encouraging and motivating guitar teacher with a casual relaxed approach. Teaching new guitarists is very rewarding to me. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience.
