He points out specific technical good points and bad points, and offers concrete suggestions and examples for improvement. The lesson material is progressively challenging, but not overwhelming, and is targeted to the student's interests, and lessons are fun and interesting. Fantastic instructor.

I have been a student of Tim’s for a little over a year now. I started playing guitar at age 52 and when I started with Tim I was very close to giving up or settling on just being able to strum a few chords. I have had many hand injuries in the past that have resulted in arthritis and lack of dexterity in my wrists and some of my fingers and I started doubting I would ever be able to progress in my ability to play. From the very first lesson where I told Tim about my hand issues and my frustrations, he told me he was sure we could work around any physical limitations I had, and he was right. Tim has been able to work with me on alternative ways to play the chords I was having trouble with and has shown me that these alternate techniques along with the bit of music theory he sprinkles into lessons can really expand my ability to play.

In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.

Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him.

"I first got to talking with Zach back in 2015, I had been looking for an accomplished musician to play at my husbands birthday party. He did not disappoint! ! Everyone was very impressed with his music style and professionalism. Through that connection we got to talking, and I also learned that he teaches music all over the south bay! Years later now in 2019, My 16 year old son had been wanting to take electric guitar lessons, but we had not been finding a good fit with a teacher. My son is very smart and artistic, however struggles with a mild learning disability. I reached out to Zach, and we discussed giving it a try. Zach is very patient and breaks up the music information in a way that is very understandable for my son, and is hands on pointing out the best techniques to help him excel, and stay engaged. My son has been taking lessons from Zach once a week for a few months, and I cannot believe my sons progress!! "Ahmad brought my playing to a new level in a very short period of time. I had been stuck and not making much progress with my improvisational skills for the better part of a year when I first started lessons with him. I was impressed by his ability to quickly analyze my playing and knowledge and suggest some focus areas. After working on various intervals, I began to feel a magnetic pull in my fingers when playing. The intervals enabled me to make the connection between the licks and lines in my head and the physical fret board on the fly during improvisational sessions.

Ahmad is extremely organized. He has exercises for every topic imaginable. His exercises are clearly written with specifics on how to effectively practice them, and they progress in an incremental and logical fashion. This level of organization allows you to get the most out of your time with Ahmad. He can quickly retrieve exercises for a topic, without having to stop and think, or waste time on transcription.

I leave every lesson with more than enough material to keep me busy. Ahmad has been very flexible working with me and changes that arise in my schedule. On top of all of this, Ahmad is a genuinely pleasant person to spend time with and I really look forward to our time together. For me, I was an intermediate player looking to get to the next step. But I'm confident that Ahmad could accelerate anyone's playing at any level."
