Welcome to my Guitar, Bass Lesson, and Clarinet page. I can provide you with professional, quality, and affordable lessons. I'm very passionate about music, the guitar and bass, and love teaching! I am a Masters Degreed Educator who has been teaching for over 20+ years. I can provide you with lessons on proper technique, music theory, chords, scales, songwriting, and more. I currently teach with Guitar Center/Music Arts in the local area but I am looking for more students to fill out my schedule.

My focus is on providing the best quality lessons for the student and believes in the motto that the customer always comes first. Let me provide you with my professional service and make sure that you are 100% happy. Thank You.

Guitar lessons with me are unique because although I am young, I am a very experienced teacher already. I started learning guitar at 10 years old. By the time I was 16 I was gigging and teaching kids in my neighborhood and any Craigslist clients I could find. At 18, I took a 1.5 year program at the Los Angeles College of Music, where I graduated with an AA in guitar performance. Since then I have worked as a professional musician, and also as a teacher /consultant with Adopt the Arts, a non profit started by Matt Sorum (drummer of Guns N Roses, Hollywood Vampires) and director Abby Berman. In my time at Adopt the Arts I have amassed over 4000 teaching hours of teaching kids ages 4-13, so I am very experienced with kids and get along with them great since. I have also been giving other private lessons to people of all ages since 2011. Hi, I’m Norman, and I teach guitar and all other fretted instruments. I have maintained a weekly schedule of about 40 studio and online students since 2010. Lessons with me are fun, streamlined, and filled with music.

My students can play their instruments well, and they know their chords, scales, arpeggios, songs, and other compositions. Using the state-of-the art music learning theory I studied at Eastman School of Music, performers gain the confidence to play in solo recitals, or with a group, or even to teach others to play, too.

My philosophy as a teacher is to not only give every student a solid foundation of good technique and practice habits, but to most importantly foster their sense of musicality and expressiveness on the guitar. Having played and been dedicated to mastery of the guitar since the age of 10, I have found that the two greatest joys of playing regardless of skill level is 1. To find your "voice" on guitar and create your own music and 2. Playing and making music with other musicians. I aim to help any player of any age achieve these wonderful benefits by teaching music theory in a fun and practical way alongside developing their technical skills in engaging ways. I still consider myself a student of the instrument even after 14 years of playing and learning many styles, so students will also enjoy learning about (and from!) other great players and musicians as part of their curriculum, giving them an insightful history into the playing of various great guitarists and the timeless music they

Music is a journey of creative exploration with as many different paths and destinations as there are styles of music and musicians. Students will benefit from a personally customized approach to learning, exploring musical styles that range from rock to pop, blues to country, punk to folk, and at every level of musical experience. I am a former classroom music teacher, with an MA in Music Education, and I have been a working musician/recording artist for 30 years. I am patient and experienced in getting results. I believe the recipe for music education is Knowledge, Practice, and Fun = Joy. Spreading joy is a valuable service for good community.

I can help every student achieve his or her goals, whether it's to lead a campfire circle or play Carnegie Hall someday. (One of my students opened for B.B. King, and most of my students will play music for the rest of their lives. Some have grown to lead their own bands.)
