Hi there and thanks for visiting! I have been playing guitar, singing, writing and producing music for the greater part of my life. My endeavor is to guide you to an understanding of one or many of these facets and give you the tools you need to become your own teacher as you continue down this path.

Below is a brief synopsis about the lessons I teach:

Guitar/Songwriting:
There will be very little music theory. I never needed much of it to write my own music, other than a few basic theories to get around successfully, so it’s not something we’ll spend a whole lot of time on. I have organized and constructed a course book to keep things lively and moving along efficiently. I call it NOTEbOOK. It’s also great refresher material to revisit in the future.

I teach basic guitar with accented professional appeal and rhythmic structure. My intention is to guide you to create your own original music using straightforward techniques. My goal, once we part ways, is for you to leave ...

About Lorin

I’ve been a writer and musician since I was a teenager, and have been teaching music lessons for over a decade. I began journaling at 15, mostly free-writing and poetry. This was my segway into guitar and songwriting. Over the years, piece by piece, I’ve gathered many angles to my myriad profession

Thank you so much Lorin for the remote classes!! You were amazing and I learned more from you than I did from my in-person teacher here in town. Thanks!!

I had a great experience learning song writing with Lorin. I would highly recommend his teaching services to anybody eager to learn music.
Rob
Lorin helped me hone my songwriting skills immensely, by not only teaching but collaborating with me when necessary. It was refreshing to find someone who put his teachings into practical learning, where I could see the outcomes become apparent. He’s a nice dude, and is experienced equally across his fields. He guided me to making intelligent choices for equipment purchases, both instruments and pro audio gear. We first met while he was living in New York, and boy has he traveled since. I think living in so many different states, and being that well journeyed has given him good cultural depth to his work. Check out some of his own collabs with singers and musicians from all over the world...that really says it all.

I picked my son up and he immediately wanted to show me all he learned and a new song he had just created with Joseph, and when we got home he played it again and walked me through the software...success...;-)
Noelle
Im learning from the best! Joseph is incredibly knowledgeable and has worked on a wide range of projects involving Abelton. His friendly and helpful personality makes him easy to learn from. He pays attention to how I learn best and implements that into the learning flow. His in-home studio is the perfect place for a quiet, one on one learning session. He even met me before the class started to discuss where I was at within the program. He really does go above and beyond in many ways! Thanks Joseph!

About Ryan

Ryan is professional and easy going at the same time. So far so good. I'm excited to keep going.
Shelly S.
Ryan takes his time and tailors my lessons specifically to my level and to the type of music I’d like to play. He covers everything from the basics – like the proper way to hold the pick – to more advanced teachings like music theory. Ryan is flexible, patient, easy going, and he consistently teaches at a pace that I’m comfortable with. He provides take-home practice after every lesson and always has helpful suggestions any time I have questions. What I find incredibly helpful is that at the end of the lesson Ryan will run through the take-home practice on his guitar and let me record it on my phone so it’s easier for me to remember. When I’m ready to practice the next day I just pull up his notes and the video and I’m ready to go!

It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation.

"I really enjoy learning from Russ. He is good at relating things back to a way I can understand and improve. He is so versatile in his music knowledge that I can litterally throw anything his way that I'm curious about and he points me in the right direction. I've taken guitar, bass, vocal, and even production lessons from Russ. By far the most value I have ever got from an instructor. At first I was a little hesitant because of the higher price than others, but when you start noticing that you are learning stuff other teachers had no idea about, it makes sense to pay a little more for the quality you get out of his lessons. Thanks Russ for all the lessons over the last few years! Wouldn't be where I am today without ya!"

"Milton has been a really good fit for our son, because he is easy-going, knowledgeable and always comes ready to teach something new. His relaxed style suits our household without seeming unprofessional, and he is extremely encouraging. These lessons all started during a rough medical situation for our son, and Milton just rolled with it, making sure our son created music and didn't focus only on his health. It also gave our son something positive and creative to work on, making him feel less like an invalid and more like a musician. Overall, we have been so happy with Milton and would highly recommend him to anyone."

"Paul is an amazing teacher and mentor. Today we tackled harmonies while recording and it was so special to me. Paul is dedicated to his craft and his students. He prepares for each lesson, whether vocal or piano, and pushes me further along while reinforcing what we learned previously. He's just the perfect balance of strict and encouraging, always leaving me with a lesson that I had not anticipated and a whole lot of fun. I am so happy I found a teacher as great as Paul, he is truly one of a kind!"
