I enjoy working with students of all ages and ability levels. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I’m confident that I can help you learn how to play more proficiently on the guitar and gain more satisfaction from your playing. I do not think that there is one “correct” approach to learning and I find that working on a variety of genres helps students grow the fastest while enjoying the process.

With an efficient combination of exercises, technical development and song learning, you'll see yourself improving on your instrument faster than you thought possible.

About Andrew

Hi, my name is Andrew. I'm a professional guitarist, bassist, and recording artist located in Virginia. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with a B.A. in Music Performance and Technology. I have over 10 years of experience teaching and enjoy working with students of all ability levels. St

Andrew is an excellent instructor and group director. He understands his craft very, very well and is able to instruct in a clear and effective manner. He has the ability to teach all ages, from young beginning musicians to senior citizens of all experience levels. His instructions lead to learning how to play very quickly. He matches his level of instruction both to the student's needs and desires. Andrew does not get locked into strict methods that can become quite boring like some other instructors, but rather tailors his instructions to the individual. If you have the desire to learn, Andrew will take you where you want to go with music. It is important to note that, as well as guitar, Andrew can play and teach drums, keyboard, bass guitar, and trombone. Thus, Andrew knows well how to blend these instruments into an effective group. He knows how to lead a band and get the most from the group.
Andrew is well educated in music. In addition to his teaching and directing abilities, he demonstrates exceptional professionalism in all he does. I have seen him work with venues to set up performances. He is clearly respected by the venues as well as his peers. I have seen his peers seek his advice on music matters relating to instruction, direction, and arrangements. While serious in his endeavors, he also demonstrates a great empathy for people and a terrific sense of humor. I have seen parents and students request him specifically because of these fine qualities. Some people are born to do certain things in life. Andrew was born to inspire and teach music to anyone interested in learning.
People enjoy music in different ways. Andrew is able to understand people's musical interests and abilities and is able to adapt his instructions according to the individual's talents and desires. He responds well to his students questions and needs. He is interested in seeing his students grow and keeps adding more challenges as his students advance. If a student prefers to go in a different direction with lessons, Andrew quickly revises his approach. I was taught by Andrew for 4 years in private lessons and group band. He presented many different types of music, riffs, and styles. It is not a stretch to say that learning from Andrew is exciting and challenging.

Teaching guitar lessons is something I’m particularly passionate about. I still recall the feeling I had the first time my dad put a guitar in my lap and taught me to play "Sweet Home Alabama" at the early age of seven. My ultimate desire is that my students would have a similar type of musical experience through my teaching.

Are you tired of not being able to play YOUR songs? Want to learn the basics of tone, pedals, effects, amps, etc.? Want to learn to play something other than Wagon Wheel? Hit me up!

Want to learn guitar your way? As a self-proclaimed student for life, I’ve spent years in the private guitar environment as both the student and teacher, learning equally as much in both roles. Graduating from Belmont University on a full scholarship, I took advantage of my time in the guitar-Mecca of Nashville to understand the roots of American guitar music, as well as the scope of guitar in music around the world. Whether you’re just starting and want to learn your favorite songs, or are looking to dive deeper into jazz, theory, and beginning your career, I’m certain I will help you find the inspiration you need to learn to become a better guitarist today.

About Ryan

As a professional musician who has pursued the guitar as a dream for much of my life, I feel incredibly indebted to the community of musicians who helped me find the resources needed to turn this vision into a reality. Because of this, I feel equally indebted to the younger generation and my peers

"I've been working with Ahmad for a little more than 2 years. I'm one of those folks that had the intention to learn guitar for many years, but never got over the hump. The Summer that I started taking lessons with Ahmad, it really took off for me. He's fantastically talented and skilled, but he makes it clear that his abilities came with a ton of work, and he gives you a system to get the best results out of your own practice time. He'll work with you on any song, and seems to have a taste for just about any genre of music (especially if its got some good guitar). He'll teach you some theory and get you to read music, but patiently diet this out while recognizing your excitement to learn songs (at least, this is what I'm putting him through, and I imagine others would to). He'll give you practical drills for learning scales, chords, rhythm, etc., and find ways to overlay them so you can start to stitch things together. "Putting it all together" is still a work in progress for me, but I've been pretty happy with the results over the past 2 years, and I've iteratively "ratcheted up" my expectations for where it can all go, heavily due to Ahmad's encouragement. I hope to keep getting lessons from him for a long time!"

"After working to live for many years, and after purchasing all the books, apps, and YouTube channels that seemed promising, I could never find the approach/perspective that could make the process of learning/playing the guitar not seem like an impossible amount of effort at the end of my day.

I've always wanted to be a musician, but it seemed impossible now that I turned 30 and had a corporate job. Eventually, I bought a new guitar, thinking it would my catalyst. 6 months passed and it had only become a talking piece in first dates, so I decided I needed to look for a musical aficionado.

Walking into Francesca's Studio, I felt immediately like I was in the right place.

In what I thought would take weeks, the 45 minutes I scheduled with her, we were playing and singing to some of my favorite songs.... I can't even explain how great this made me feel. I suddenly felt like I could actually achieve this bucket list dream of mine.

Francesca clearly has a talent in helping others pursue their musical dreams, and I'm excited to continue working with her to realize mine."

"Francesca is a wonderful teacher! She's very knowledgeable but shares that knowledge in a way that's easy to understand. I've been an amateur musician for over forty years and I've read a lot of books and watched a lot of videos. None of them explained the concepts we went over during our class as clearly and simply as Francesca. In fact, one of the things she explained had been staring me in the face for twenty or more years! She pointed it out and I had a "duh!" moment! She also has a great way of putting a student at ease and making you feel comfortable with her right away. It didn't feel like our first lesson together. Thank you, Francesca!"

"Jordan was very helpful right from the start. He listened to me on where I am at and where I want to be. He showed me a few things that we will work towards and then helped me understand my instrument much better. Gave me some fun new things to practice before the next lesson. If you're looking for a lesson that is interactive and fun I recommend Jordan and the online thing is supper easy and handy. I don't think it could have gone any better. The lesson was 45 minutes and it felt like 10."

"I had the pleasure of having Adam instruct me the basics of acustic country guitar for a few months. "I have been taking guitar lessons with Ahmad Since 2011. Music has always been important to me and my lessons with Ahmad have been a continual source of inspiration and joy. I love Ahmad's musical philosophy and regardless of what I'm interested in he is always able to help me better myself. I continue to be very busy in my life but always find myself coming back to music. Through taking lessons with Ahmad I have been able to achieve many of my musical goals and know that if I keep practicing I will be able to achieve even more of my goals.

Ahmad is extremely talented, intelligent, and friendly and is always there to support me in whatever new musical concept I wish to learn next. He can help anyone looking to better themselves in a wide variety of areas regardless of the style of music you are interested in. I have been studying country and jazz with him primarily, as my goal is to be able to write my own music and put together a band some day. I have no intention of stopping music lessons with Ahmad as they continue to be something I look forward to every week. Anyone would be lucky to have such a great teacher."
