Accordion:
I make accordion easy by first teaching one hand at a time . Once the student feels proficient we will begin to incorporate coordination between the right hand, which plays the piano notes and left hand which pulls the bellow and plays the chords. In no time at all the student will be playing accordion songs. I encourage the student to bring in songs they like want to learn.

I will definitely be expanding my accordion skills & of music theory . I’ll also be adding some 😎 Jazz Standards to my repertoire ☺️.
Kelly S.
Karen was not prepared for the lesson. She spent 15 minutes trying to send me photos from a beginner Tabla book available on Amazon. She did not own a set of Tabla drums. She ensured me she could teach anything, but could not pronounce the words used for proper Tabla technique, knew no history and could not even teach me to tune. She literally was reading out of the book figuring it out along the way. I lost a lot of trust from this and asked for a full refund for future lessons.

Music college graduate, with plenty of experience in real-world musical settings and five years of teaching experience. When it comes to teaching I have plenty of patience and no judgment!
My goal is to help you define realistic goals and then, how to obtain them. If you are unsure of what your goals are, that's okay too. We can cover the basics and in time, find out what your musical interests are. However, I expect my students to work towards improving their skills by practicing a little each day, or as I like to say students need to be hitting the woodshed.
My lessons are tailored toward each student's goals but I always include certain topics. The core of my teaching involves a clear understanding of rhythm, scales, chords, and music notation. In addition, I enjoy music theory and always work it into my lesson. Personally, knowing the form and function, or the why of song structure is important for musicians to understand.
In addition to theory, we will work on ...

I've been taking lessons from Andrew for almost 2 years now. He's a great teacher; he's patient, encouraging and accommodating. He builds a strong foundation for playing and understanding music by focusing on the fundamentals first and foremost. I highly recommend him as a teacher!
Gare
I came to Andrew as an intermediate-to-advanced level pianist looking to learn jazz piano. Andrew does a great job pacing his lessons to push new ideas and techniques without being overwhelming. He will also relate the techniques he teaches to how he plays in real life, which is extremely helpful. Andrew is very easy to get along with and is also very responsive between lessons. I'd recommend him for any skill level

I began taking piano lessons when I was 5 years old and continued through college where I received my BA with a focus in Music Theory and Performance.
When I was 10 years old my parents bought an old accordion at a garage sale and I was fascinated. Growing up outside of a rural Missouri town with deep German pride was the perfect setting for me to hone my polka and waltz skills. I would play for all the german festivals.
I find great joy in meeting your individual learning needs while helping you achieve your goals.

About Adley

The piano is a wonderful instrument on its own and a valuable foundational instrument for future musical successes. I find great joy in meeting your individual learning needs while helping you achieve your goals. My piano career began when I was 5 years old and continued through college where I
