Oboe Lessons in Coolidge. Amazing Teachers.

Experienced teacher having taught all levels from beginning to graduate level students. I am a professional musician who has performed with professional orchestras, including under the baton of an internationally-renowned conductor. I studied oboe with a performer of the New York Philharmonic and the principal oboe of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. My oboe lessons focus on all aspects of musicianship and real-world expectations, and cater to each student's individual learning style. You will be well prepared for any performance situation you will encounter.

I am very passionate about music and oboe, so I can provide lots of important info about college auditions and prepping for an upcoming concert! I have played many pieces from the standard oboe repertoire and have learned many of the prominent orchestral excerpts for oboe! I can also help with any reed making questions!

I started playing the Oboe in the 3rd grade. I have played in orchestras and on a cruise ship. I know what it takes to learn this beautiful instrument.

Lot has performed with LA Opera, LA Master Chorale, Musica Angelica... She is a Fulbright scholar, has a Doctoral Degree in Oboe Performance and holds the position of Lecturer in Baroque oboe at USC. Lot lives in Arcadia with her husband and children.

Experienced in bassoon and clarinet as well as other band instruments. Beginning band to high school students welcome. Focus on long tone exercises, scales, articulation, and more. Lessons are customized and student led. Students will learn about rhythm, melody, form, and other musical skills as well as instrument skills.

Oboe:
A family of double reed woodwind musical instruments, they are usually made of wood, but there are also oboes made of synthetic materials. The Oboe is commonly used in concert bands, orchestras, chamber music, film music, in some genres of folk music, and as a solo instrument, and is occasionally heard in jazz, rock music, pop music, and popular music. I will begin by teaching the basics of breath control, apeture, fingering, the reed, notes, rhythms, reading, songs, theory, and soloing.
