Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Whether you are starting out on oboe, switching from another instrument, preparing for an audition, or simply looking to brush up on your skills, I can help you reach your oboe goals!

All lessons are customized to your interests and needs. My teaching experience ranges from complete beginners to advanced students. We can work on everything from the fundamentals and etudes to advanced recital and audition repertoire! For those looking to branch out, we can also cover instrument adjustment, English horn and reed-making in the lessons.

Great reeds are vital for oboists and I can help with buying advice or learning to make your own reeds! I can also adjust your reeds or sell personalized reeds in person or via mail.

For students wishing to broaden their musical insights, I also can incorporate music theory and history into the lessons - subjects that I teach at the college level.

I am a professional oboist residing in New Orleans. I perform with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Rapides and Lake Charles Symphonies and many other ensembles. I have a master's degree in oboe performance from the University of Akron, bachelor's in music from Tulane University and am a graduate of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, with recognition for excellence in oboe and piano.

I believe that the study of music is one of the most rewarding pursuits we can undertake! Whether a total beginner, college student or adult looking to brush up on skills or learn new ones, I will help you reach your goals!

As a lecturer with the Tulane University Department of Music in New Orleans, LA I primarily teach music theory and history. As a private oboe and piano teacher, I have taught students of all ages and levels.

I received my Master's degree in Oboe Performance from the University of Akron where was a graduate assistant for oboe and music theory. I currently perform professionally, including with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Jefferson Performing Arts Society, and Rapides, Acadiana, and Lake Charles Symphonies. Having studied piano since the age of 8 through graduate school, I enjoy performing as a vocal accompanist for Tulane students as well as for local churches.

I am able to offer lessons at Tulane University and am able to travel throughout the metropolitan area. As I am frequently performing throughout the state of Louisiana, I can also arrange special lessons in other cities. Feel free to contact me about scheduling a lesson!

I am also happy to assist you in finding an instrument, supplies, sheet music and method books. Having the right setup is the best way to ensure success!

I like his technique to teach piano; I only have had 5 classes with him and I already play few songs.

Did a lot of work on technique, which should really help my playing (especially pitch).
