Prophet’s teaching style focuses on the primary learning method of the student. All students are either Visual, Auditory or Ki
nesthetic learners or a combination of the three. By adapting teaching methods to these learning methods, great results can be produced in a short time.
There aren't too many schools for rapping that I know of. I learned the way most people learn: on the streets of the city they live in. I've listened heavily to records across Hip-Hop history and I practice MCing regularly as part of my work as a song improviser. I combine techniques from Classical Poetry to modern vocabulary to raise the ceiling on what is possible for an MC.
Things you can expect in rap lessons from me...
-Freestyle: we'll build your confidence and toolset for off-the-top rhyming -Verse-writing: I'll examine your verses and teach you to refine the writing and delivery to help you reach your audience -Music Theory: most rappers don't even consider this, but I emphasize understanding music and knowing how to improve your technique and writing through deep understanding of poetry and music theory -Career Advice: I make sure you get the most bang for your buck when you study rap with me
I studied music therapy and music theory at Temple University from '06-'10. Learned a lot. Then again, I learned even more teaching at a school for kids with learning disabilities and working as a traveling street performer. Once you see the world and work with some unexpected challenges, you learn how to open up and knuckle down at the same time!
I am currently a full-time YouTube Creator, sidelining in cover bands and a solo act. Teaching is a big part of what I do online so I see my work as a private teacher as 'research' for the lessons I create. Although I'm firmly grounded in a classical music training, there's nothing you can ask about that I won't try to figure out. My favorite thing about teaching is using unexpected questions to develop new ideas that I then integrate into my original compositions. Check out my intro to the B
lues Raga video if you want to hear a good story about what I mean.
Recently I've had several articles published by the TakeLessons Blog. Check out my most recent post here. http://takelessons.com/blog/how-to-play-acoustic-guitar-like-john-mayer-z01

Bernard was awesome! So knowledgeable and so passionate about teaching. I was impressed by how much he really wanted me to "get it." And, WOW.... that guy can hear the intricacies of a rap song after ONE listen through.
Probably seems a bit far-fetched, but I am a highly studied rapper who runs my own hip-hop collective.
I write rhymes, produce beats, and bring my conservatory style academic learning to hip-hop. If you want to learn the culture, the rhyme schemes, the science to making hip-hop music if you will, I'm your guy.
It won't be some abstract "na man that don't feel right" type of vague, get you no where lesson. It will be very concrete, defined lessons, to give you the freedom to write dope rhymes and say them in a variety of different styles/feels/and grooves.
I'm 25 and a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a degree in Jazz Guitar performance. I currently work full-time as a freelance musician, I play in wedding/corporate bands, jazz groups, hip-hop bands, funk bands, pop bands, original music projects, and I also run a hip-hop/jazz group. I'm a funny, easy-going guy and I want lessons to be fun and inspiring. With that being said I definitely like to set and accomplish realistic goals with my students, cause why not be the best you can be, right?
My teaching style follows the "Music is Easy" mantra. Basically, I look at it as my job to take the intimidation factor out of music, and let it be what it should be, FUN! It's not to say we won't be learning theory, or getting our skills together, but it is to say that we'll be taking all the fancy lingo and breaking it dow
n for you in concrete practical ways.
In terms of what I teach that really runs the gambit, I teach most styles of contemporary guitar playing, and additionally can teach voice as well. I also have taken extensive marketing classes at the University of Rochester, which means that I can offer some key advise on music business and marketing strategies for your band. I also run my own booking agency, so if you want to talk shop on how to get gigs, which avenues of gigs make the most bread, and other things of that nature, I'm your guy as well!
Hope to hear from you and start some fun learning together!
Blake is a great instructor. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed right away. He went at the pace I needed (glacial) and encouraged me every step of the way. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Blake is a seasoned musician with experience in just about every genre imaginable. Whether it's technique, harmony, theory or aural skills, he can explain any seemingly difficult idea in a concise, logical way. With all the knowledge of a conservatory trained guitarist and gigging musician, he's a down to earth teacher who simply loves music and is passionate about sharing it with his students.

Blake is a dedicated teacher who helped me improve right away! I wasn't at all sure what I wanted (or needed) to work on next but he picked up right away what was best for me. So grateful to have worked with him.
I have been rapping for ten plus years have charted on Itunes at 12# with Chris rivers and Sadat X and have recorded with multiple multi platinum rappers. I wish to pass what I have learned on. Not only about the art of rap or its history but about the industry as well. I can give you some insights on record deals (ive signed a few not all of them so good) . I would love to meet you.
I am an award winning artist who has worked with multiple multi platinum artist, as well as rubbed shoulders with some of the most accomplished musicians in Dallas Fortworth. I have charted on the Itunes chart at 12#.
I want to connect with my students. I think the industry is about who you know and thus networking and learning about what individuals need and expect is paramount. I would also love to talk about the contract side of the rapgame. as the business is the thing that will make you or break you. The music world is a long game not a short one and those who don't stretch before the race starts will cramp up.
I am best suited for beginers who want to learn how to rap and those who are working on their first projects. There seems to be a art to ordering an album and placement of vocals that makes or breaks it for people.
y favorite artists? Notorious B.I.G.,Big Daddy Kane, Eminem,Ludacris,2pac,AZ,Kool G Raps,Loose Ends
I am a vocalist, therefore, I can develop my tone to a specific rhythm or pattern.
I have a bachelor's in Biology from the City University. My talents excel from the performing arts to knitting. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Even small questions can make a change in your grade. Sometimes we need to ask our selves where our direction is in life and therefore I can give an explanation to these ideas.
I work with popular, local (Atlanta) based rappers as well. I teach flow, rhythm and breathing techniques and basic singing techniques for "hooks".
Bio: "Gold Record" Year 2000 with X-Cell Records "Take My Heart" I was born in Germany and moved to the US about 10 years ago. I speak and sing in several languages! Attended the world famous Hanns Eisler Music / University in Berlin, Germany My credits includes singing on records with Usher, Mary J, Toni Braxton & Tamar, Christina Aguilera and several other major industry artists. She’s an R&B Recording Artist and works with Babyface and other producers. I'm very versatile and can sing any popular Jazz, Gospel or R&B songs. I'm also lots of fun with great energy and positive vibes!
I was able to train with Alice (@AlicjaTheSinger) not too long ago while I was preparing for an upcoming concert performance (I sing "Luther Vandross" tribute concerts). Her training was awesome as she had me concentrate on the basics of "runs", scales, breathing, etc. She's super fun to work with and has a positive attitude. It was clear to see the results after some practice and I couldn't be more pleased with her help and guidance. Her inside information and experience in working with Top Artists in the studio really helped and gave me a head's up as I'm working on my first song/EP!
I highly recommend Alice as your voice instructor!
"My son really enjoyed his first rap lesson and is looking forward to continuing on!"

"I want Fawn to know how much I appreciate her. I don't think I say it enough to her, so I am writing it here! I have grown musically and as a person so mu
ch from knowing her and having lessons with her the past 4 years. I appreciate everything she has done and continues to do! Thank you Fawn :)"
"My first lesson was awesome - so excited about the rest."
"Prophet is just that. A prophet spitting gods bars and teaching in the process. In all honesty, he is a student and master of music, lyrics, and beats, an
d I will exclusively work with him because of how effective he is. If you need science, he has it. If you need feel, he's got soul. 10/10."
"First off, Prophet X is not only a great musician, but also one of the best mentors I've had in my 5 years of rapping. He has encouraged me to write bette
r, perform with excellence and continually up my game in a live audience. His prestigious wisdom is very impactful regarding audio engineering as well. He has definitely been a part of my shaping process as an artist and person. Moreover, his rates are lower than deserved. He deserves to be paid a lot more for his understanding of various topics in the arts."
