Steel Drum:
A modern pan is a chromatically pitched percussion instrument made from 55 gallon industrial drums that formerly contained chemicals. The pan is struck using a pair of straight sticks tipped with rubber; the size and type of rubber tip varies according to the class of pan being played. The student will learn the basics of notes,
reading, rhythms, how to play songs, theory and improvisation.

My experience as a performer and teacher spans over 25 years of just about every musical style. I believe in creating an environment that is focused on playing music well and where the student can have fun while gaining confidence. It is important to develop functional musicians with good technique, reading, time, and listening skills. We will cover all styles of music that use steel drums, including jazz, classical, and island music.

Attacking the students aspirations and goals of their personal requests to the trainer, and getting to know the client and where they would like to see themselves in a limited time of training so the clients money and time isn't left in the mud!

Drum lessons are unique with me because of my background with all percussion makes lessons flexible and fun. I tailor my lessons to the students wants and desires while also building their technical skill in all areas of percussion so they can play everything while excelling at what they enjoy the most. This makes a very fun and educational experience.
