I have taught private guitar, piano, bass and drum lessons since the late 70s in Salt Lake City, where I majored in jazz guitar performance, and since 1980 in Los Angeles. I make the lessons fun. I attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, and I have a BA in Music. I am a working pro musician, regularly playing all different kinds of gigs with different bands, as well as solo, and regular gigs on TV. I have taught music lessons, and guitar in particular, for 18 years. I play all styles, but my favorites are Rock, R&B, Country, Rockabilly, and Blues (I also enjoy playing jazz, classical, and other styles as well). Here I was also introduced to Jazz, and around the same time began experimenting with synthesizers. I've been making my living playing all kinds of music for over ten years. I feel that working on and creating music night in and night out with bands and artists from rock to hip-hop, pop to jazz, folk and country to disco has given me unique insights into what makes a good bassist. There's a balance to be struck between theory and instinct, as well as technique and emotion. I tailor each lesson to each student, creating most of my own lesson materials.
