Rachelle G.

Valley Village, CA

About Rachelle

Hello! My name is Rachelle and I'm a professional singer, songwriter and pianist from Victoria, BC, Canada. My background in music is a blend of Pop, Rock, Jazz Classical, Blues and R&B. I was recently featured in Keyboard Magazine’s November 2012 Issue as one of the 6 Best Keyboard Heroes to watch out for. Some of my performance highlights have been opening up for Nelly Furtado in 2001 in our hometown Victoria BC, and again on her "Loose" tour in 2007 at Roger's Arena in Vancouver, BC for an audience of 15,000. I've taught for six years helping foster my student’s talents and reach their musical goals. Past students have attained lead roles in high school musicals, toured in professional bands locally and internationally. When it comes to teaching music a “cookie cutter" approach ...

Rachelle is extremely personable, knowledgeble, and communicative in her technique training. She is really helping me to unlearn all the bad habits that have naturally developed over the years, and I'm already more cognitive of my vocal projection. She's at the top of her game. Would highly recommend her to ANYONE in search of the best instructor.

A fantastic teacher

In just my first few lessons with Rachelle, I learned more about the anatomical aspect of singing than I had in 10 years of choir/singing. She put great emphasis on the technique and skill aspects, while still balancing it with emotional connection. Perhaps my favorite thing about Rachelle is that instead of giving you songs to practice or telling you exactly what kind of songs you need to be doing, she allows you to bring in any music that you like and allows you to pick the focus of your lessons (whether you want to work more on breath support or volume or tone quality etc.). She maintains a flexible, laid-back and supportive attitude and has been a wonderful help for me.

Rachelle is a great teacher!

I took lessons with Rachelle for about 2 years and I'm so glad I did. I have improved so much vocally as well as performance-wise. It was a lot of fun to be able to work on my own favorite songs instead of purely classical. I would definitely recommend taking lessons with Rachelle!

Super Helpful!

I am always hesitant to take lessons from anyone. I have had bad experiences in the past where I leave a session feeling defeated because the teacher was impatient. I must say, after leaving my first lesson with Felice, I felt excited about the next!

About Jennifer

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Jen T. was 13 years old when she picked up her first guitar, rescuing her mom’s dusty old acoustic from the family’s attic. Quickly developing a love for the instrument, Jen headed west to sharpen her craft at LA’s esteemed Musicians Institute, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in music performance. While studying at MI, Jen formed the folk-pop duo Jen & Abby with vocalist Abby Miller. With their quirky style and catchy tunes, the band soon gained a devoted following through gigs at many renowned LA venues, including The Key Club, House of Blues, and Hotel Café. Best guitar teacher I have ever had

Jen is a fabulous guitar player that has an innate ability to teach with understanding and patience. If I am not understanding a certain exercise, she is able to break it down for me in multiple ways so I can better understand how to perform.
I tend to get nervous to share new songs I have written but Jen's down-to-earth personality has definitely helped me begin to break out of shell.
I highly recommend Jen as your next music teacher.

Awesome passionate personality with ton of knowledge

It has been a total joy being instructed by Jen. Jen's passion in playing the guitar is extremely radiant, so you know you're in good hands with a passionate instructor. Myself not being the fastest of learners, totally felt comfortable by Jen's style of teaching. She provided a very relaxed and confident atmosphere :)I came in with an idea of what I wanted from the guitar, and Jen provided structure and guidance from the ground-up. You will totally feel your money being used on a superb, passionate, and knowledgable instructor! :)

Highly recommended: Amazing teacher!

Mike is a patient, supportive and incredibly talented teacher. From music theory to practical application, he's got all the answers... And he makes learning fun!

I took guitar lessons more than ten years ago and found it frustrating and I was terribly uninspired. Recently I took my old guitar out of mothballs and was determined to make some progress on the dang thing. A good friend recommended Mike and I've been taking lessons for nine months with him.

What's great about Mike is that he customizes my lessons. I'm not learning out of a book (which, I could if wanted) but I'm learning the songs that I love and learning the theory behind the chords, too. Then he keeps building on what we just learned. I go home from my hour lessons and play for another two hours because I'm so inspired.

I can't recommend Mike highly enough. He's a gem of a music instructor in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles.

Corinne D.

Valley Village, CA

I've been teaching Music Performance for three years and have experience performing in several professional musicals. The curriculum I use is based on the wealth of music in my personal music library that is available for students to use. Students are also welcome to bring in their own sheet music. My teaching philosophy is content-based. I like to demonstrate the songs for students, and then let them fly with their own ideas.

About Corinne

Corinne is a friendly, caring, instructor and provides a stress-free learning environment. All styles, levels and ages are welcome. She teaches pop, musical theatre, classical, and jazz. Corinne holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Vocal Studies from Michigan State University and enjoys teaching children and adults how to sing. All levels, styles, and ages are welcome. :) Corinne was a vocal director for Rock and Ridicule, a rock and roll musical performed at the Acme Comedy Theatre in Hollywood. She also was the music director for Act I Children's Theatre in Sherman Oaks. Currently, Corinne is music directing an after school musical theatre class at Wilbur Elementary School in Tarzana. *** Lesson Details *** Lessons with me are fairly laid-back. I have been training with Corinne for a couple of weeks now and I've already learned so much! She is such a friendly and warm person and also has huge amounts of knowledge about singing. She hears what is going on with my voice and guides me towards the right direction. The 30 minutes I come in are effective and we already have a few songs that I can sing at future auditions.

I highly recommend Corinne as a voice teacher!

So, I've been singing for years, but after deciding to produce a professional project as well as perform more, I wanted to get training to have a better command of my voice.

I not only had a breaktrhoughs in my singing ability, but also in my professional career after working with her!

Corinne helped me to gain confidence, power and precision in my performance and I would recommend her for ANY singer of ANY again and ANY experience level!

My 11 year-old daughter has been taking voice and piano lessons from Corinne for about two years and she loves it. Corinne is so encouraging, but doesn't push too hard, so my daughter really enjoys the lessons. For voice, Corinne is always open to letting my daughter sing the songs she's interested in, but has also broadened her interests with new and classic pieces. My daughter had taken piano before, but her skills have improved so much since she started working with Corinne. I highly recommend Corinne for voice and piano lessons!
