I've been teaching acting for more than 20 years and my students (and I) have gone on to work in theater, film, TV, commercials, modeling, voice overs, and more! Within the first few lessons, you'll you'll learn acting basics and start creating and acting as different characters. I have a large library of acting materials as well as acting literature. Acting techniques may include: The Meisner technique, method acting, classical language interpretation, improv, and acting for the stage, and more! I love working with students of all experience levels to learn how to "professionally pretend."
Always wanted to act? I focus on helping my students build their characters, give realistic performance in a nurturing and collaborative environment. Come learn scenes, monologues and full roles to help you get the experience and skills needed to perform on stage, in film, television or commercials.
I am trained in the Chubbuck Technique, Viewpoints, and Method Acting. I work with my students to better their understanding of the art of acting, and the power they have as a person and performer.
My instruction in acting encompasses all levels from beginning to advanced using a strong base in Stanislavski while blending it with many other theories in order to take students to the deepest levels of characterization and realization â finding the truth in the moment and in the story. The goal of this eclectic approach is to be able to extract something useful from each theory, something that works best for the individual actor thus aiding them in creating their own essential actorâs tool box - a box which holds the keys and secrets to their soulâs inner workings and the mechanisms used to retrieve them.

I have been a performing artist since the age of 7. Over the years, I have worked under dozens of production companies for film and stage. As world-renowned author, Malcolm Gladwell, states in his book: "Outliers," it takes 10,000 hours of experience to be considered an expert of any field. After hitting that mark around Christmas 2012, I began to write a curriculum and had my first student a few weeks later.
To give you an idea of my general class structure, it is typically a balance of the following:
and Method Discovery
I pull from a wide array of past learning experiences, (from the academy, to the set/stage/studio, to my personal library), to produce the best exercise technique for each individual student's uniquely-structured learning path in the art and craft of Acting.
We will study personal development, (how to prepare your slate for each new story), ...
My students can work on emotional access or monologue/audition prep. I use a mixture of Stanislavsky and Meisner as well as other methods to access real emotion.
