I am a full-time professional dancer who has performed nationally and internationally including the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, DC's City Rhythms Festival, the VelocityDC Festival, as well as others. In my dance lessons, students will strengthen their technique, creativity, individuality and showmanship through a warm-up, movement activities, and challenging movement combinations. Students will increase their knowledge and physical vocabulary and leave each lesson a better dancer, performer and person. In the midst of learning students will also be required to have fun! I am able to teach ballet, modern, jazz, step and gumboot dancing.

When I was learning to dance I was often frustrated with myself for not being able to remember the things I did in class - and I've talked to many students who feel the same! I've developed my teaching style to focus on "how to dance" and not just "these are the steps."

Dances I can teach include, but are not limited to: Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Social Waltz, Social Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Kizomba, Zouk, Fusion, Blues, West Coast Swing
Bob's classes focus on improving technique and performance ability, proper execution, injury prevention, and working directly to address areas of the student's concern. Classes are given in a Broadway style of tap dance, theatrical jazz dance, and musical theatre dance. Bob is also available to choreograph or coach for college and theatrical auditions.
Bob's teaching is based on the work of his master teachers - Matt Mattox in jazz dance, Bob Audy and Paul Draper in tap dance, and Lee Theodore in musical theatre dance. His students have appeared in Broadway shows, film/tv productions, major dance companies, and So You Think You Can Dance. He holds the MA in Jazz Dance from New York Univ.
