Yves L.

Chino Hills, CA

I played music professionally and have been playing guitar for over 25 years. I teach both practical and technical guitar playing teaching my students not only how to play guitar but also how to read guitar music charts.

About Yves

I grew up in Quebec City Canada, where I only spoke French during those growing years. From a very young age, I was always attracted to music and particularly playing drums. My mom has told me that before I could even walk, I was already banging away on whatever I could put my hands on. I would sit down with pots, pans, and spoons and bang away. My parents bought my first “real” drum kit when I was about five years old. It was a Mickey Mouse drum set that they ordered from the Sears catalog. I was ecstatic. Unfortunately, because of the poor quality of the drum, this particular kit only lasted a couple months, but it was on that very drum kit that I gave my first live performance. The concert took place in the basement of my house. This memorable concert included one song, a French ...

Yves truly qualified in experience and teaching ability

Selected Yves as a drum teacher for my son based on his profile. Yves is an experienced, patient and fun instructor that has been effective making drumming fun and interesting to my five year old. Yves is good at making sure parents understand how to help their child in the learning process. Yves is a bit further out from me but I am not disappointed. Thank you Yves.

Yves is THE BEST instructor!

My son is 5-years-old and quite an active little guy! When he said he was interested in learning to play guitar, I wasn't sure we would be able to find a teacher for his age. We did; Yves is the best! Yves is always patient with him and understanding of his age/ ability. He instructs him with kindness and holds his attention. Yves also has a wonderful home studio in a nice home/area. He is flexible with scheduling as well. He goes above and beyond with extra help and recommendations for helpful materials. My son looks forward to seeing him every week and sharing with him 'how much I practiced'. We would highly recommend Yves to anyone.

Vic A.

Upland, CA

I've been teaching Guitar and Bass for the last 24 years. What sets me apart from the mainstream is the years of experience focused on solving student problems and developing specific courses of action that help them achieve their goals. Not all students are alike so it stands to reason that no one approach fits all. I enjoy developing custom exercises designed specifically for individual student needs. So if you're ready and you've got questions, I've got answers.

About Vic

My musical journey has taken me to some interesting places, It hasn't always been easy and the challenges I faced as a professional musician and educator have brought me to the skill level I have today and provided the foundation for my Method Book Series "Techniques In Applied Theory" My curriculum is based around student goals. All elements of music are taught in relation to their likes and dislikes. There's a lesson behind every Song.

Jeremy T.

Glendora, CA

About Jeremy

Hi! My name is Jeremy. I started playing guitar at the age of 14 and by 16 I knew I wanted to play music for a living. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a performance degree in May, 2013. While at APU I performed with various groups including the APU Jazz Ensemble, which has won awards at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, and studied with many great teachers. Some of my favorite guitarists are: Oz Noy, Django Reinhardt, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jim Hall, and Steve Lukather. Playing music has taught me to be open-minded and I love (or appreciate) all styles of music. My favorite artist is D'angelo. I am currently a working musician with guitar as my primary instrument. I have been very fortunate to perform with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves, and ...

Joseph C.

Upland, CA

As a guitarist, I have played with many ensembles. I have earned a degree in music theory with an emphasis on guitar performance from San Juan College in New Mexico. In addition to that, I have performed professionally for over 5 years.

Students of mine can expect many things from me as their instructor. The first and foremost is that I will do my absolute best to make learning the instrument enjoyable and challenging. They can expect to gain a solid foundation on which to build their personal technique and style. They can expect to be shown how music theory is used to craft the music that they are playing and how these concepts can benefit them as a musician. Finally, they can expect to set goals for themselves that we can accomplish as a team.

About Joseph

Hello! My name is Joseph C. and I want to help you start your musical journey. I have been playing guitar and bass since I was 15 years old and started playing payed performances in my early 20's. I have had the pleasure of playing everything from heavy metal guitar to country and blues bass. I am currently performing with a Ramones tribute band as well as a internationally recognized, and NAMMI award winning Native American flute artist. I have taught guitar and bass since 2009 as well as tutored music theory students at San Juan College under the expert supervision of miss Linda Edwards. As an instructor, I have but one philosophy. Music is supposed to be fun. There is supposed to be passion. I don't believe in doing tons of work out of books or methods. My preferred ...
