About Jennifer
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Jen T. was 13 years old when she picked up her first guitar, rescuing her mom’s dusty old acoustic from the family’s attic. Quickly developing a love for the instrument, Jen headed west to sharpen her craft at LA’s esteemed Musicians Institute, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in music performance.
While studying at MI, Jen formed the folk-pop duo Jen & Abby with vocalist Abby Miller. With their quirky style and catchy tunes, the band soon gained a devoted following through gigs at many renowned LA venues, including The Key Club, House of Blues, an
d Hotel Café. Following the release of their 2008 debut album Cannot Rearrange, the band’s music was featured in multiple films and television commercials.
Jen has been sought out by many other artists seeking her particular blend of expertise and performance savvy.
She relishes the chance to put her skills to the test in a wide variety of musical genres. In addition to writing and performing, Jen keeps busy as a private instructor to dozens of aspiring guitarists. She also has done over 1000 online instructional videos totaling up to more than 40 million views for YouTube and Mahalo website. Any style, any level!

I'll help you reach whatever your goal is. I've had SO MANY different students over the years and I use my training from my Master's Degree to design a perfect curriculum just for you. If at any point you want to move a different direction, just let me know and we'll shift gears. I'm uniquely proficient in many styles and am not a one-trick pony, so I'm a great teacher for you if you want to dabble in many styles from an expert, but don't want to keep switching teachers.

About Jaxon
*See further below for lesson details!*
Jaxon the Guitarist: I am a Doctoral Guitar Major at USC studying classical guitar. I have been playing the guitar for 19 years and teaching for 10. My main style is classical, and due to the technical training I have had since I was very young, it has been very easy for me to learn and master other styles such as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Country, and other styles of guitar. I have a passion for performing and have played hundreds of solo and ensemble concerts. As a classical performer I was the Oregon State champion in their guitar competition for bo
th 2005 and 2006 and won 4th prize at the Sierra Nevada International Classical Guitar Competition 2014. I have played concerts all over the United States as well as in Spain and Mexico. As a performer of other styles I have played in many bands and have won high school battle of the bands competitions and recently placed 2nd in BYU's battle of the bands 2011. I was a regional finalist in Guitar Center's "King of the Blues" competition as well.

Jaxon the Teacher: I really love spreading the knowledge I've learned over the years about the guitar, bass guitar, songwriting, music theory, and everything music related to my students. I find a huge sense of fulfillment in seeing my students understand and enjoy learning and making beautiful music. I have a high level of knowledge and skills that I am very willing to use to teach students from the most beginner to the most advanced. Former students of mine have achieved lofty goals ranging from making it into a music program at the college level to winning their school's talent show to being accepted into their school's jazz band.

*** Lesson Details ***
My curriculum is based around YOU. I push my students hard, but I make sure they're always having fun and enjoying playing. I like to get my students playing real songs as fast as possible so they can see results immediately and get excited!

Note: I am trained and specialized in teaching children fingerstyle guitar. I have taught hundreds of kids in schools, privately, and in groups over the last two years. The method I use is proven to give kids the best possible start to music and maximize their potential. If you have children and you want them to learn good technique and music principles through guitar, you don't want to look any further, I promise.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have stools, music stands, and an amp here so all you need to bring is your guitar!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I do not provide any equipment.
Student must have their own guitar and amp if they play electric.
I do have guitars available for rental.

*** Specialties ***
-Children's fingerstyle guitar
-Proficient in Suzuki method
-Specialist in classical guitar, though proficient up to highly advanced in any guitar style (blues, rock, country, jazz, pop, etc)
-Also very experienced teaching songwriting and music performance

I am extremely happy with my first five lessons. I feel that my instruction is individualized well to my short term goals, which is to develop a solid theoretical foundation that enables me to understand compositional approaches and methodologies and prepare me to create my own compositions and arrangements. Currently the format of our lesson is to analyze/discuss a piece in detail with a compositional or arrangement exercise to reinforce the main techniques of the piece. (which is reviewed at the subsequent lesson). The exchange of ideas (as well as the exercises) have resulted in me learning something fun and interesting every single lesson. I highly recommend Jaxon as a music theory instructor.

Jaxon is the most motivating as well as competent and friendly guitar teacher my 16-year-old son has ever had, and he has had two previous guitars teachers that were very good.
As a professional in the music industry in Hollywood for a very long time, I can assure you that Jaxon is extremely versatile and knowledgeable in all styles of guitar performance, be it classical, electric rock or blues, and I"m sure many more acoustic guitar styles that I have not heard him demonstrate.
Take it from a music professional......you can't go wrong in having Jaxon teach you or anyone in your family.

Wether you are shooting for the big stage or playing around the camp fire, I am here to help you reach your goals! We will work on everything from learning chords and melodies to basic theory and your favorite tunes.

About Moa
Short version:
I sing my heart out. I slam the guitar. I turn my feelings into songs. I help other people make music.
Lover of the beach.
Swedish native in California.

Long version:
My story began in my neighbors’ backyard in the deep woods of southern Sweden where we would lip sync to Spice Girls in the late 90s. I would kick my foot in the air, as the true Sporty Spice I was. Or was trying to be.

A few years later, when I was 12, I discovered a worn out, leather hard case covered with stickers laying around in my house. I opened it and discovered this big chunk of wood with fo
ur strings on it.
Disappointment arose when I tried strumming it and it didn’t really make any noise. However, turned out we had a similar looking thing at my school and my teacher showed me how to plug it in to a speaker. Noise: check. Since then I told everyone that I was gonna be a rockstar when I grow up.

I spent my teenage years playing in bands and eventually moved on to the guitar. I played actively all over Sweden but told everyone that I was gonna move to LA to further my career. And in 2012 that dream became reality.

Since then I’ve been fortunate enough in this rollercoaster called the music industry/life to combine my two biggest passions in life, music and traveling, and have toured all over the US, the UK, played Warped Tour, US Air Force Bases in the Middle East and Japan and even cruise ships in the Caribbean (my favorite place on earth), all with several different bands. Somewhere along the way I also started passing on my knowledge and coaching music, with a contemporary pop/rock approach and focus on getting more girls into music.

When I’m not performing or teaching, I write music for film and television. You can hear me on the latest season of Vanderpump Rules on Bravo.

I am looking forward to working with you! :)

I've been taking lessons with Moa for a few weeks now & she has been incredible. In such a short amount of time I have improved significantly as she is hard on me & forces me to do things the right way. Always friendly & fun, the lessons are exactly what I have needed.
Not only does she know what she is talking about, how to effectively instruct, but she also is active in the music industry herself.
Very happy with my lessons & I look forward to learning more & improving with Moa as my teacher

Obviously also depending on your specific goals and experience, besides learning your favorite songs, we'll discuss techniques, music theory and creating music yourself (improvisation and songwriting).

I can also provide helpful advice on guitar related aspects like sound/equipment, instrument setup /maintenance and recording.

About Nils
Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, age 5 or 500, in my experience, with just a little bit of practice each day anyone can learn to play guitar.
Maybe your goal is to simply learn to play your favorite songs or maybe you want to learn to write your own music, improvise, or perform live.
Like all good things in life, there are no shortcuts, and learning the guitar takes time and effort, but in return you get the ability to express yourself through music, which is one of the most rewarding skills anyone could ever learn, at any age and in any situation.

My main focus is on helping
you reach the point where you are actually playing music, instead of endlessly going over exercises or theory.
I want you to be able to play music you would enjoy listening to, because this is when you will start to truly appreciate your accomplishment, and progress will start to come much easier.

Together we will discuss your personalized course, based on your goals and situation, and along the way I will provide materials/tools and a summary or a recording of each lesson as needed, for you to take home to work on.
Different aspects we'll discuss are technique, chart/sight reading, music theory, ear training, soloing/improvisation, and developing a strong sense of rhythm, most of which will be done through simply learning to play the songs you like.
Besides the basics, it's very important to learn how to independently keep challenging yourself, learn from your mistakes and continue growing musically, simply using your ears and whatever information you can find online or anywhere else, even without my help.

Besides teaching you how to play I can also help with finding the right instrument and equipment, provide advice on guitar/amplifier maintenance and setups, as well as recording techniques, or any other practical matters related to playing music/guitar.

Lessons can be either at your residence or at my fully equipped home studio in the Hollywood Hills/Studio City area. In a beautiful and private environment, with plenty of (free/safe) street parking available.
Lessons via Skype are obviously available as well.
I look forward to hearing from you!

If you are ready to take your guitar skills SERIOUSLY then stop wasting time and money on teachers who don't fully understand the instrument themselves. My name is Russell Steedle and I have been playing guitar professionally for 19 years and teaching music and producing records for over 10. I have worked with artists such as Sean Kingston, Lifehouse, Disney's Caityln Taylor Love and have composed music to 100s of your favorite TV shows! Want to learn to shred? produce? write? dive into theory?

About Russell
Russell is an incredibly gifted music producer born in Las Vegas, NV. With his first #1 Billboard record (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rookie_(EP) ) under his belt and endorsements and support of major music companies such as Fender and Dean Markley strings, Russell has toured the US opening for National Artists playing for audiences as large as 30,000.

In 2012, Russ inked a deal with Mach 1 Music and learned the rough ropes of the music industry as a part of a team selling over 19 million records worldwide. Soon after, Russ joined TV/Filmsound powerhouse “Signature Tracks” (signature-tr
acks.com) through which he has produced over 550 songs for networks such as Disney, MTV, VH1, BET, ABC, NBC, CBS, and many many more

Russ is a truly exceptional individual and very knowledgeable in all aspects of music theory, production and the industry. Not only is he an great at what he does, but he can also relate and impart that knowledge onto others - a skill that is surprisingly rare among high-caliber performers. The price per lesson seems higher than average at first glance, but I feel that the speed and amount of knowledge you acquire per dollar is actually lower than that of other instructors. Really.

He is also active in the industry, so the skills he teaches are current.

I take lessons with Russ online through Skype for EDM production in FL Studio. He is always punctual and promptly communicates if anything comes up. His teaching style carefully balances the need to provide guidance, while allowing freedom for individual artistic development. Every week, I start a composition or track analysis project that applies what I've learned in previous lessons, and I will submit it to Russ to discuss things that went well and things to work on in the future. In this way, you are not just being lectured, but you are actually learning to collaborate with an exceptional musician. I've personally experienced how constant application and feedback facilitates rapid learning.

He certainly is a serious musician, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a fun personality. He is engaging and inspirational.

I would, without reservation nor hesitation, highly recommend Russ to anyone who is interested in professional music production.

I really enjoy learning from Russ. He is good at relating things back to a way I can understand and improve. He is so versatile in his music knowledge that I can litterally throw anything his way that I'm curious about and he points me in the right direction. I've taken guitar, bass, vocal, and even production lessons from Russ. By far the most value I have ever got from an instructor. At first I was a little hesitant because of the higher price than others, but when you start noticing that you are learning stuff other teachers had no idea about, it makes sense to pay a little more for the quality you get out of his lessons. Thanks Russ for all the lessons over the last few years! Wouldn't be where I am today without ya!
