"Mozhgan is an amazing tutor!! She tailors the course to you pace and level so that you can move as fast or as slow as you want, and constantly asks for fe
edback. Her course structure is very organized, and she gives the student time to understand the concepts very clearly. She reviews what both student and teacher went over in the beginning as well so we're constantly building knowledge instead of just learning new things. She also does the EXCELLENT JOB to give cultural context for the lessons, which helps understand why certain words are used in certain ways.
I met her in person, but she is so flexible and based on my request, she sometimes helps me with online tutoring. I really appreciate her for both the online sessions and in person classes because sometimes traveling is hard for me after work. She is flexible and will work to make sure nothing gets in the way of learning. I am really lucky to have had Ms. Mozhgan Hudiburgh as my knowledgeable Persian Farsi tutor."

Music Director of the Chicago Philharmonia Orchestra since 1985, Farobag has also served as Managing Director of the University of Chicago Performing Artists Series from 1989 through 2002 and principal conductor of its resident professional ensembles. A skilled interpreter of Baroque literature as well, Farobag continues in his capacity as Artistic Advisor to the Baroque Masterplayers, a virtuoso ensemble that concatenates period performance techniques with modern instruments thus creating a unique voice within the realm of 17th and 18th- century repertoire.
A double graduate of the Eastma
n School of Music and the University of Rochester, Farobag studied under Anastasia Jempelis, a pioneer of Suzuki violin pedagogy in the United States. In addition to the Suzuki curriculum, he is also associated with the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program that sets a national standard of musical achievement in various fields.
Befitting his penchant for encouraging artistic interest amongst younger members of his community, Farobag is also the principal conductor of the Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra that offers a unique mixture of young and seasoned professionals sitting side-by-side in a strictly professional setting. Since the year 2000, the ZSO has staged highly successful performances at various venues in Houston, Chicago, and Toronto. A New Year's eve performance in Los Angeles is scheduled for 2014.
Having also taken graduate-level coursework in educational psychology, mathematics, and philosophy at the University of Chicago, Farobag offers tutelage in various areas of elementary and secondary education as well as in SAT, ACT and GRE test preparation.
Additionally, as a certified Reiki Master, therapeutic and/or educational sessions are also extended to those who may be inclined to alternative healing techniques.
*** Lesson Details *** Sheer technique is necessary but insufficient to play an instrument well. Aural skills, that include the study of functional tonality and voice-leading are important factors that impart musicality. This is of great import if the prospective musician wants the audience to truly enjoy his or her performance !
Whether it be the 3 Rs or preparation in the performing arts, a remarkable instructor must go well beyond the subject matter at hand and help imbue the student with a spirit of wonder that, in due time, will foster enthusiasm necessary for excellence.
A child emulates and learns to communicate in his or her mother-tongue through a supporting and nurturing environment. Likewise, a student needs to be sufficiently motivated to embrace learning in a familiar supportive manner.
*** Studio Equipment *** The In-Studio lesson take place in the living room. Driveway parking. No pets.
*** Travel Equipment *** None; I do expect a reasonably good piano / keyboard at a student's home.
*** Specialties *** Traditional and Suzuki-based education. Performance and musicality training is open to all instrumentalists.
*** CD's*** Classical Energy, Triton Sound, TS 8501 Salut D'Amour, Triton Sound, TS 9014 Epiphanies1, The Halford Company

I have extensively studied vocal performance and opera for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master's in vocal performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I have studied other vocal genres, such as jazz, rock, and pop. I have previously taught at The School of Rock in Indianapolis Indiana. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. Several of my students have recored albums and are currently performing all over the U.S.
I have a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full
-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectations that are placed on students in order for them to succeed. In college, I was the head student researcher on a two-year lab project. I took several upper level science courses including: biochemistry, calculus, organic chemistry, calculus based physics, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology. I studied marine biology in the Virgin Islands and am CPR certified.
*** Lesson Details *** Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music
*** Specialties *** I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.

As a singer/songwriter looking to improve my vocal chops, I needed to find someone that I could jump right in with and start improving right away. Benjamin provided me with a really comfortable environment and laid back teaching approach that has given me great confidence in myself as a performer.
From the great, useful warmups to the very insightful critiques, Benjamin has taught me a lot about my own voice and what I have to work with. I've improved drastically over the last few months, and his suggestions and ideas about how to approach various singing techniques are without a doubt the reason why.
I look forward to continuing my lessons with Benjamin, and I have very high hopes in myself as an artist after learning from him a great deal about what it takes to be a good singer!

I've had a great time taking lessons with Benjamin. He knows what he's talking about and has been incredibly helpful. He's straight-forward, in a very good way, as he wants to get the most out of your voice a quickly as possible. Highly recommended!

Ben is fantastic! My two daughters really enjoyed his lessons.
With a bachelors in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and experience tutoring and mentoring students, I am able to provide students with a broad range of subject knowledge.
Bethany is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, where she majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. She is certified to teach all subjects for elementary grades, including middle school Social Studies and Spanish, and bilingual and ESL classrooms. She is fluent in Spanish and has a passion for languages, having started learning French and Spanish when she was 11 years old. She also started an after-school sewing club at her school for 3rd-5th graders, which has grown immensely in popularity. In her spare time, Bethany enjoys roller skating, crafting, and playing b
oard games and tabletop games.
An experienced teacher, Bethany started her career teaching for two years in Elgin, IL. In 2014, she transferred to Mannheim School District in Melrose Park, IL, and has been teaching bilingual 2nd grade there for two years. As a teacher, Bethany is patient and calm but sets high expectations for achievement. She believes strongly in the importance of setting a welcoming, learning-focused tone so that they feel comfortable coming to her with concerns and setting goals.
I have the education of a professional teacher, but my passion is for one-on-one tutoring. My goal for my students is that they come away from each session with a deeper understanding of the subject that enables them work out problems in the future without my help. I like to think about math as a language, and myself as a translator.
I consider myself a part-time math tutor and full-time stay-at-home-mom to two little girls. I enjoy playing board games, watching Star Trek, baking pies, and... of course, doing math.
