Monica K.

San Tan Valley, AZ

About Monica

As certified teacher in three states and over 30 years of music experience, I am comfortable with students of all ages in developing their musicianship and love of musical expression. Playing semi-professionally since the age of 16, my performance background includes symphony orchestra, mariachi, acoustic rock, chorus (alto), and various small ensembles. In college, I studied piano and currently play keyboard with a classic rock group.
My overarching goal is to share the benefit of a lifetime of experience with my students so that they will find their own 'voice' in the wide world of music.

*** Lesson Details ***
My approach to teaching is to customize lessons to meet the needs of individual learners and to make learning fun: It is always okay to make mistakes as long as you are willing to do the work to overcome them. I will be there every step of the way to help you meet your musical goals.
The curriculum used will depend on your current level of playing and the particular style of music you are interested in. From that point, I can provide you with basic theory, techniques, and self-selected pieces to guide you towards your personal goal.
It is my hope that our lessons will develop into a lifelong teacher/student relationship: There is nothing that brings me such joy as seeing my students move forward and develop their own independence as a musician.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have my own violin; students must have their own instrument. Violin students that have a piano in their home is preferred but not required.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in working with beginning students to develop basic techniques and notation skills.

About Dale

As a performer I have been playing for over fifteen years on the piano. I have received training at Vanguard University where my teacher's were graduates from Juilliard and Yale. I am now attending Arizona State University where I will be teaching music theory and receiving my Doctorate in Music Composition. I am a published choral composer, and have had my music premiered in the U.S. and Europe.

In August of 2012 I began teaching piano on a part-time basis. My teaching philosophy has always been to make sure the students understand why and not just how to perform something. I emphasiz
e music theory along with piano lessons and expect the students to take the time to practice every week. I have taught children of all ages from 4 to 16 years old.

If you would like a female teacher please contact my wife who is also a teacher on take lessons:

My son was failing in statistics. I was not very happy because this is his first year in college. We discussed his options and I began to search for a tutor. Many came to my attention and yet one to me stood out, Ouray. Reading the reviews helped and purchasing one session then speaking with him gave me the assurance he could help. We made the correct decision. Ouray helped my son go from a failing grade to a B in statistics. Upon asking my son about Ouray's performance he said, he helped me to understand what I was doing thus giving me the confidence. I would recommend Ouray as a tutor in statistics. He definitely made the difference for my son. Thank you.

I was disappointed that the instructors page stated she would be able to meet in my home and she is not. Trang was flexible with her schedule for us to meet at her home, but that does not suit our needs at this time. Otherwise, she was kind and accommodating with her willingness to help teach.

Daniel B.

Tempe, AZ

About Daniel

Daniel B. is available for home, public, and online lessons worldwide to prepare for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT/ACT college entrance exams, and or otherwise study general math and persuasive writing topics.

Daniel has been helping students develop their skills and improve their test scores for almost 10 years. One student even improved from 40th to 80th percentile and got into his dream school of MIT. Another student said his relationship with his significant other improved as he learned how to listen carefully and critically to what other people were saying before responding. Daniel teaches
students from high school, to college, to several years of professional experience. All students are guaranteed to improve their academic/career performance by at least 10% within 90 days or their money back.

Daniel was trained in standard teaching methods, but has since developed his own methods to make sure students are positively engaged in the content. Knowing is not enough, we must do. And it's a lot easier to do things that are fun and relevant than things that are boring and don't seem to matter! Daniel's goal as as an educator is specifically to help people realize their personal and professional goals.

Daniel attended Carnegie Mellon University, and holds an MS in Civil Engineering. He is constantly continuing his own education as a professional researcher working to improve our critical infrastructure systems. Daniel regularly writes complex reports for engineering, business, and public policy.

Another nice feature that you might enjoy from one-on-one sessions with Daniel is learning techniques to refine your own long-term professional vision for yourself. It's a lot easier to run through the obstacle course when you have a clear visions for your future self on the other side.

Lessons are scheduled to best fit to the student'€™s availability when possible.

Students receive complimentary goal-setting worksheets upon their first or second session. Daniel is a very patient instructor and understands that different students have different strengths and different obstacles to overcome. Everyone has a unique story, and everyone is highly capable to create their own future!
