Hello!

I am a 2014 graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. I have completed 2 internships, both in 1st grade, then taught Kindergarten in Seminole county Schools for one year and have since discovered my love for teaching in one-on-one situations. I believe that building relationships is an important and integral part of effective teaching, and the learning stems from that.

I have a passion for music, and have been playing flute since 2003, piano since 1998, and guitar since 2006. I played the flute thr
oughout middle and high school, and I continue playing for weddings, holiday performances, etc. to this day. I have consistently auditioned for All-County performances all throughout middle and high school with flute, and have received top positions.

I have been playing piano since 1998, taken piano lessons for 7 years, and performed in several recitals.

I have taught myself guitar and ukulele and have performed in a few festivals and coffee shops around Orlando. When I was teaching, I often brought my instruments with me to play for my kindergarten class!

I've also enjoyed venturing into the world of graphic/web design, and since Fall 2015, have been running my own tiny little design business at lilyliseno.com. I taught myself how to do some basic coding using HTML and CSS, and how to use adobe photoshop and illustrator to create website designs, social media graphics, logos, flyers, and t-shirt designs.

**TEACHING STYLE**

My teaching style is laid back and casual in nature. I believe the most productive learning comes through relationships, trust, and fun! I strive in cozy environments and hope to create a welcoming space for our lesson time. (Check out my pictures to see my lesson space!)

I work from home doing graphic and web design, so I am very flexible and will work around your schedule.

**LESSON DETAILS**

Piano lessons will be held in my home in Orlando (college park). If you are a beginning piano student you will need to purchase your own book (about $5 on amazon), and notebook in order for me to write down what to practice for the following week.

Flute lessons will be held in my house in Orlando or online (via TakLessons Classroom, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, or Skype). You will need to have your own flute for lessons and practice. I will also have you purchase a fairly cheap lesson book on amazon (book will be depending on your skill level) and suggest having a notebook so I can write down what you need to practice for the following week.

Guitar or Ukulele lessons will be held in my house or online (via TakLessons Classroom, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, or Skype). You will need to have your own instrument available for lessons and practice. Depending on your age/skill level, I may have you purchase a fairly cheap guitar lesson book on amazon. I also suggest having a notebook in order for me to write down what to practice for the following week. I do not require books/notebooks for ukulele, everything we need will be a free print out (chord sheet, strumming patterns, songs).

I started tutoring student-athletes when I was in college. After I graduated with my BS in microbiology with minors in chemistry and Spanish, I was a tutor at a state college working with high school and college students. I have also been privately tutoring students of all ages and levels.

I am 24 years old and have recently finished school for my degree in Music Therapy and recently completed my 900 hour (6 month) internship at a behavioral health hospital.
I have been musically involved for eleven years, gaining experience from many avenues including band, private lessons, choirs, and musical gigs. I taught music theory and ear training at an after school music and arts business for 1.5 years and worked with a variety of students ranging from 6 years old to twenty years old. As a music therapist, I am requi
red to be proficient on my main instrument (flute) plus on guitar and piano. I am also required to be proficient in the creation and implementation of goals and objectives, people skills, and to have an empathetic, understanding, and positive approach in all I do. I believe these skills contribute greatly to the effectiveness of my teaching. I am also qualified and willing to teach adaptive lessons for students with all types of disabilities. This includes mental and physical.

PSYCHOLOGY:
I have a minor in psychology and have always been interested in the subject which has lead me to much research of my own. I have completed a practicum at a behavioral health hospital and an internship at another behavioral health hospital. I have taken multiple psychology classes- a few being abnormal psychology, clinical and counseling psychology, and brain and behavior. I will also soon be pursuing a masters in mental health counseling.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
Education experience: I taught music theory for 1.5 years in Tallahassee, Florida. I am currently a certified substitute teacher in Volusia county Florida for elementary through high school and I teach flute sectionals at local middle schools and high schools. I have also been a teachers aide in two kindergarten classrooms. This job required me to teach students individually and in small groups. I also provided music groups with the kindergarteners once a week. Prior to this I have been a regular dividend in a kindergarten classroom for a semester, have lead flute choir and flute sectionals, and have volunteered often in an elementary art classroom.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY:
My teaching style is organized yet laid-back. I am sympathetic and positive in my approach. I am understanding of your busy schedules so am very flexible if you need to reschedule or move around your lesson time!
I have access to lesson books/textbooks and can make suggestions for you based on your needs and desires. If you are a beginning piano student you will need to purchase your own book. (It's about $6.00 on Amazon.)
Our first lessons will be based around assessing your strengths and weaknesses. From there I will create a schedule customized to your specific needs. Your input is important to me as I am always willing to be flexible based on your personal needs and preferences.
Learning is FUN so I will make sure you are enjoying the lessons as well as getting the most out of them that you can!

PRICING INFO:
Flute, piano, and guitar lessons are $25/30 minutes and ukulele is $20/30 minutes. This is a set price. I do not haggle. I DO provide sibling discounts!

Teaching non-English speaking students the basic AND advanced fundamentals of English. The seven parts of speech are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.

I work at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels as an adult education instructor providing English instruction to classes or individual students.

As a ESL teacher, developing a curriculum that takes an overall approach to English study that focus on a specific aspect of language use, such as life skills, literacy, or vocational and workplace

The Pedagogical Foundations Of EnglishCentral
