Daniel B.

Saint Louis, MO

About Daniel

My name is Daniel B. I have my A.A. Degree and I am currently a junior at Washington University in St. Louis. I am majoring both in Psychology and Biology with a strong emphasis on counseling, research and medicine.

Since its founding in 2006, I have been involved Neighbor to Neighbor Outreach (NTNO), a non-profit organization whose goal it is to insure that the children, youth, and adults of inner-city St. Louis are provided tutoring for every imaginable subject.

My teaching style is quite simple and effective. I initially gauge the student's level of understanding of the subject or s
kill that he/she wishes to master. I then create a comprehensive learning plan which pushes the student to his/her limits while making the learning process both enjoyable and rewarding.

If you find yourself in need of my assistance, just let me know. I am able to work around your schedule and I am available to be contacted anytime.

Daniel was the perfect tutor for my son's prep for the GED. He was patient, prepared to help with test taking skills along with the actual content of the tests, and made himself available on a very short notice. In addition, Daniel is just a nice, respectful person that was a pleasure to interact with. I can not say enough. Highly recommend him!

Becky D.

Saint Peters, MO

About Becky

Hi!

I'm a certified teacher and private tutor based in the St. Louis, MO area. I work one-to-one in a face-to-face format for students in the St. Louis, MO area and online one-to-one for students outside St. Louis. My personal goal is to foster academic success in the student in your life. In addition, I strive to teach the necessary skills for every one of my students to become independent learners.

I first began tutoring music while in college and gradually shifted my focus to academic tutoring. I considered myself a teacher since my first part‑time job as a swim instructor.

From
reading comprehension and algebra to study skills and English, my mission is to tutor students who have fallen through the cracks in our educational system. Meeting my clients’ specialized needs is an essential part of each lesson I create.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education (emphasis on reading and reading comprehension) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. My teaching experience includes 32 years of tutoring, 10 years in the public school system teaching first grade, 10 years in both the public school system and private schools teaching music and 1 year at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) teaching basic computer use.
