Linda L.

Tucker, GA

About Linda

*** Travel Equipment ***
I do not typically provide any equipment - but I am willing to select and purchase books for the students to learn from (cost of books to be reimbursed by the student/parent) when requested to do so.

I am also willing to provide stick-on note-names for the keyboard, for young children.

The students must have their own instruments, music stand, paper and pencil, and provide a folder for sheet music and notes/instructions.

*** Specialties ***
On guitar, I specialize in the following styles: jazz, rock, blues, folk, bluegrass, and children's songs.
Piano: I pr
efer electronic keyboard to acoustic piano, but am happy to teach beginning students on a regular piano as well. I teach note-reading, playing by ear, and theory. When using an electronic keyboard, I include more rhythm development, arranging, chord theory, and use of the many features of an electronic keyboard, in the lessons.
English: I am qualified, by years of tutoring, to tutor/teach English (spoken, written, and reading comprehension) to both native English speakers and to those learning it as a second language.
*** I am particularly good at working with children who have a.d.h.d. and other learning disabilities!

Linda is easily the most patient and welcoming person I've ever worked with. She has incredible knowledge over a vast array of topics and she is eager to share with others. This, in my opinion, is the most important quality of all teachers. Her lessons have proved a great way to build a solid base in my field of interest. as well as providing me with a well rounded and wonderful mentor that I'm sure to rely on for many other lessons in the future- banjo or otherwise!

Gary B.

Atlanta, GA

About Gary

I offer 15 years as an educator, scientist, and technologist. In 2008, I was recognized by AYA Educational Institute in Stone Mountain Georgia for going above and beyond the call of duty to help children in their education. I am neither a pure academic, nor a pure pragmatist. Instead, my subject matter expertise comes from academic training, self-learning, and real world professional experience. My experience includes international teaching & tutoring in Bermuda, Trinidad, Kenya, Barbados, and Korea. I love to learn, and I love to teach.

David S.

Canton, GA

About David

For years, I have been the go-to person in my family and for my friends for tutoring. I suppose friends and family liked that I wouldn't charge them anything to teach their children (or themselves) how to write, spell, or play the guitar. Teaching is a passion of mine--I love to see the sparkle in a student's eye whenever they finally understand a matter that maybe they have struggled with. I am an aspiring author and I love to write just for the fun of it. I still teach cursive writing, though I do understand that it's no longer taught in schools. Being that I love writing, teaching othe
rs how to do so comes easily for me. If you or someone you know is struggling with any of the subjects or activities I have listed here, reach out to me and allow me to help you! I would love to help in any way that I possibly can.

Prince S.

Austell, GA

About Prince

Prince have had experience teaching students who have successfully passed their GED, ACTand SAT Mathematics. For 2+ years, I worked with a Not-For-Profile organization called 'Reach 2 Empower' to tutor GED and SAT students on Mathematics. I'm currently a senior student at Kennesaw State University studying Computer Engineering Technology. While in school, I have successfully helped students pass their Pre-Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-calculus, and Statistics and Probability. As an engineering student, I have taken college algebra, pre-calculus, calculus 1, calculus 2 and other higher maths co

For students needing help with standard exams such as SAT, ACT, and GED Mathematics, I will give them a test the first session that we meet in order to help me determine which area of math to focus on for the student. I am very patient when it comes to teaching students.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies.
