I have been teaching students of all ages for 17 years. My principle instrument is Trumpet, but I teach multiple instruments. I received my BS in music from Radford University in 2000. I moved to Miami in 2001 to attend school and perform with artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Micheal Brecker, David Sandborn, Diana Krall, as well as numerous corporate bands in the Miami area playing for such people as Donald Trump and opening up for Lionel Richie and Elton John. Through out my entire educational and professional career I have helped many students reach their personal and professional goals. As a teacher I understand the importance of patience and persistence, I utilize positive reinforcement and encouragement. Music is meant to be fun so therefore I make the lesson FUN! My teaching ...

I teach beginners how to make a musical sound, how to have a good embouchure as well as learning proper breathing techniques. We will also learn to play songs. Intermediate students will learn how to rapidly improve their overall ability, as well as learn how to play different styles correctly. Scales lip slurs and arpeggios will be learned. Advanced students will address individual problems as needed. Common problems include poor intonation, weak endurance, needing to acquire more range and playing stylistically correct interpretations (ie-symphonic vs jazz vs funk). In addition, with ALL levels, we will advance the student's knowledge and comprehension of music theory.
