Randall K.

Clearwater, FL

Students begin with the Rubank method and add in Arban's. A strong emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of scales, ear training, sight reading, and music theory. Along with this we have fun playing the music student enjoys.

About Randall

I have been teaching music for over 20 years and playing as a professional musician for even longer. I know how to get the best out of my students and have fun doing it. I'm a University of South Florida grad and I have worked and studies in Las Vegas and at the Berklee school of music. My students constantly win superiors at contest and sit in the upper chairs in band and orchestra. Lets have some fun and make some music. *** Lesson Details *** In a laid back fun way we will learn the fundamentals of our instrument. I start out with the All For Strings series of books and add the Suzuki method books for some tunes. In 3 to 6 months you will be playing the music you like and having fun and learning new things while you do. *** Studio Equipment *** Lessons in the living room

Randall was fantastic. He immediately engaged with my son, and interspersed history and anecdotes into the lesson that made what he was saying even more relevant. Vlad is nine, and new to the violin. He couldn't wait to get home and practice, and is already looking forward to his next lesson.

Walter M.

New Port Richey, FL

All levels

About Walter

I teach beginners how to make a musical sound, how to have a good embouchure as well as learning proper breathing techniques. We will also learn to play songs. Intermediate students will learn how to rapidly improve their overall ability, as well as learn how to play different styles correctly. Scales lip slurs and arpeggios will be learned. Advanced students will address individual problems as needed. Common problems include poor intonation, weak endurance, needing to acquire more range and playing stylistically correct interpretations (ie-symphonic vs jazz vs funk). In addition, with ALL levels, we will advance the student's knowledge and comprehension of music theory.
