Matthew K. Clearwater, FL

About Matthew

Cheers. My name is Matthew. It's a pleasure to meet you. I play guitar, bass, drums and percussion all on a professional, weekly-gigging level. I would describe my style as motivating, tactful, patient, and both traditional and up-to-date / modern. I teach all styles, but I most enjoy transitioning North American rock musicians into the world of jazz, and especially SALSA / Latin, believe it or not! I have a Bachelors in Psychology (University of Central Florida), have toured Japan with my band, and I also release solo music. I have recorded in famous Tokyo studios and actually ended up living in the Land of the Rising Sun for 4 years! I am Spanish, Japanese, and Portuguese speaking as well (English as my native language), having visited Colombia, Bali (Indonesia), Hong Kong, Japan, and ...

Matthew is a laid back instructor who really knows what he is teaching. I am learning Jazz on the bass and I enjoy it very much. In just a short time i learned more with him than I did with my previous instructor . Would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn jazz.

Best instructor I had so far.

Matt definitely knows his stuff. I had 4 classes with him and I'm shocked at the things I've learn with him. Great schedule flexibility and makes you feel comfortable from the time you meet him. Has a great and spacious place to teach compared to other I had. Hes willing to help anytime with questions. I decided to keep him as instructor for now on. Thanks!

I think he was to scared to teach my daughter. I also think he needs a better place to teach, and he needs to make the classes more fun for kids. Our first lesson wasn't a good experience.

I worked in New Jersey with adults teaching English but last school year I taught Spanish in PK as well as in 3rd and 5th grades a school, and enjoy it immensely. I constantly make sure that I expose students not only to the language but also to the cultures of the Spanish speaking world. I am extremely reliable, courteous and energetic and love to have fun with my students. I aim to promote tolerance toward all cultures and beliefs. While classroom learning is the reason that school communities gather, I believe that strong school spirit, pride, and connectedness are the values that bond a ...

Christian R. Palm Harbor, FL

I was born in Barcelona, and while I was raised here in Tampa Bay, I have always had a special ear for the language that has helped me develop and maintain my Spanish over the years. I have successfully tutored in Spanish many times over my 4+ years of tutoring, including help in developing proper pronunciation. For those who wish to learn how people really speak on the peninsula, I offer colloquial Spanish lessons, which I have loosely adapted from an actual colloquial Spanish course that I took while studying abroad in Madrid.

I graduated from NY’s Vassar College with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Hispanic Studies. Before that, I graduated from the IB program at Palm Harbor University High School.
