Debra L.

Ambler, PA

I teach piano lessons, from beginner through early intermediate. Ages range from kindergarten-aged children though adult, beginners to those returning to piano. I'm a member of MTNA and keep my skills current. I offer recital and performance opportunities to students who are interested.

About Debra

I love teaching and providing a supportive and creative environment where my students have fun learning to make music. I work with students at their own pace to make their musical experience both enjoyable and educational. My students look forward to their lessons, and our time together each week passes by quickly! I'm skilled in playing and teaching classical music as well as theater and pop repertoire for students of all ages. I enjoy working with young students who are beginners, and also with teens or adults who are “coming back” to piano, or learning for the first time. I've developed a Pop-Piano Method based on learning chord structure and music theory for playing by “ear” for students with 2-3 years of piano or other musical instrument. In addition to teaching ...

I took lessons from Debra Lee on a weekly basis for about 6 months. It was a very rewarding experience for me. Debra got me to a level of confidence where I could sing at my niece's wedding just two weeks ago today. It was a spectacular success. Debra is kind and patient as a teacher. She helped extend my range at both the top and bottom.

I cannot say enough good and positive things about Debra. On a scale of 1-10, I would give her a 9.

I sought out Debra for help with my speaking voice and soon made, with her help, a surprising discovery - that I can actually sing! Somehow I spent a lifetime believing that I "couldn't carry a tune in a bucket", and made it a point always to sing SOLO - "so low nobody can hear you!"
Debbie set me straight - she taught me the mechanics of singing, and helped me realize I CAN carry a tune - without a bucket! With her cheerful patience and encouragement I feel like I have been given a gift - an ability to sing with confidence and joy, whether in the pew at Church, with the radio in the car, to my grandchildren€¦.now when I sing "unto the Lord" I no longer fear I am simply "making a joyful noise", and am so grateful to have this pleasure at a later stage in my life. I hope to find just the right choir to join to thoroughly enjoy this new-found gift€¦.Thank you, Debra, for being such a great teacher - it has been a delightful experience getting to know you and working with you!

Debra is a fantastic voice coach for my daughter! She is extremely knowledgeable, caring and patient. She teaches the basics and builds on those fundamental skills. As a result, not only has my daughter's singing voice improved--so has her stage presence, speaking voice and overall poise. I would highly recommend Debra as a singing teacher.

About Jonathan

I started my musical education in a children'€™s choir at age 6. When I turned 8 years old, I began piano lessons. I started violin at 9 and trombone at 10. I am now proficient on the guitar, bass, and piano. Having completed my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, I am currently on the Dean'€™s list as a music/audio production major, and plan to continue my music education until I earn at least a masters in performance and composition. I started my teaching career at Milestones in Music, a local studio, as an independent contractor, where i was able to gain valuable experience and fine tune my curriculum. I am a member of the Grammy U Recording Academy, and have had opportunities to work with a lot of different musicians. (The Recording Academy is the organization that created the most ...

I'm a self taught player but I couldn't figure out how to play solos, and I never understood jazz concepts to be able to play it. After my first lesson, Johnathon gave me many fundamental points to begin to understand performing a solo. In order to move forward, I need to move backwards and master fundamental techniques. Johnathon was focused, detailed, and clearly communicated the points he was explaining to me. He laid out a detailed plan of what to practice, and I was very happy with my first lesson!

My daughter was taught by Sharon for 2 month's.I felt the lessons were too strict and too rigid. We were then referred from a friend of a wonderful teacher. What a difference!

A Sharp Music School was the right choice!

Helped me step up my playing

I had been teaching myself piano for many years when I reached a point where I was not improving and realized I needed a teacher. Sharon helped me work on my weaknesses as a musician and had a good eye for pieces that helped me build on my strengths. We always had fun working together, and she was always good about working around my busy schedule.

Sharon is doing a great job, she is well organized and knows what she's doing. I am pleased that she gives my daughter concrete feedbck and lessons to practice at home. The only problem is my daughter could use a little more practice time with her.

Ben was fabulous! He taught me music I wanted to play at a speed that fit for me and simplified harder songs for a beginner like me to still be able to play a song I loved! Great teacher and picks up on your strengths and weakness. I would highly recommended him as a teacher! He's also funny and would make lesson's enjoyable! He was friendly to my dog and birds as well :)

Allentown, PA

Students of all skill levels are welcome. I tailor the lesson type to the student rather than use a cookie-cutter approach.

About Nicholas

I am a second generation music teacher for piano and violin. I have been teaching for over 15 years as well as playing both instruments for about 30 years. I have an Associates in Music. Making lessons both fun and educational is what make my students successful in their instruments. My lessons are custom made to how the student learns, not cookie-cut. We also do bi-annual recitals in October and April to showcase the students' accomplishments. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons are both fun and educational at the same time. I compromise with my students by having us each pick a piece to play on top of the usual learning pieces. My students play anything from Katy Perry to 80s music and rock ballads and in between. I use John Thompson and Fingerpower as well as a notespeller for
