Todd has been teaching my 14 year old son for several months now. I have to say he has kept my son's interest in the instrument and tailoring teaching to his interest perfectly. Todd is very pleasant and accommodating to my family's scheduling needs. I would recommend him highly!

My daughter has been taking lessons from Tod since last December. He is patient and encouraging with her and she enjoys her lessons. He lets her pick the music she wants to play while ensuring she is learning the fundamentals of reading music.

Specializing in baroque, classical, romantic, impressionistic, and contemporary classical music.

About Michaud
From MichaudSavage.com: Composer, guitarist and performer Michaud Savage is a working musician based in Seattle, WA. As a solo and ensemble guitarist, Michaud is comfortable working in a wide spectrum of musical styles, including but not limited to jazz, classical, tango, rock, blues, rhythm and blues, latin folkloric music, and whatever other musical frontiers he happens upon. As a composer, his work includes compositions for chamber ensembles, orchestra, electronics, Max/MSP, and performance art.

In addition to solo performance, Michaud regular plays in a tango duo with Mirta Wymerszberg,
is half of Duo Michma, leads The Ancient Present- a chamber orchestra performing new works- and is an auxilary member of Correo Aereo. In the past, he has served as musical director of the Tuesday Tease house band, was a regular guitarist for Bissou (focusing on French jazz and standards from the 1920’s-30’s). Over the years, he has had the honor and pleasure to work with Adam Tully, Ramiro Gallo, honey.moon.tree, Paintings for Animals, Justin Froese, Adra Boo, Beth Fleenor, Evan Flory-Barnes, Heather Bentley, Dawn Clement, the Seattle Rock Orchestra, Chicharra Tango, Ben Thomas, Matt Weiner , Dana Wen, Amy Denio, Okanamode SoulChilde, Brad Hawkins, Ahamefule J. Oluo, Wayne Horvitz, Jakob Pek, Ammon Swinbank, and many others.

Michaud studied at the Cornish College of the Arts with Emily Doolittle, Jim Knapp, and Michael Nicolella. Michaud’s studies beyond Cornish include time at The Evergreen State College, where his studies with Terry Setter, Ben Kamen, Arun Chandra, and Sean Williams included an emphasis in Consciousness Studies and Music.

Michaud’s relationship with music began early on, singing in a choir and later playing in a youth orchestra. With the help of his grandfather he began playing guitar when he was 11, and quickly adopted this as his main instrument. Throughout high school, Michaud played in the school jazz band on both bass and electric guitar. Towards the end of this time, he started playing with honey.moon.tree, as well as Paintings for Animals, deepening his roots into rock music and expanding it into more experimental territories. Shortly thereafter, Michaud began to develop his work with the classical guitar and moved to South America to pursue a study of music, specializing in folkloric and indigenous music. After a year of study, Michaud returned to the United States and continued on to form a series of bands and ensembles in the roles of composer, songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist.

In addition to a full schedule of performances and his work as a guitarist and composer, Michaud is a music educator, teaching guitar, bass, piano, voice, music theory, and composition.

I wanted to learn guitar, but felt some anxiety about my abilities. Gus was very encouraging and made me feel relaxed and confident. The lessons were matched to my abilities and interests so that, although challenging, they were fun too. Would recommend.

Not my specialty, I have come to classical guitar technique through my experiences studying Flamenco in Spain and through learning with my current students. I love to work on it though, and am a strong, literate finger style player.

About Ian
Ian has graduated with an associates of music, along with studying with a handful of Seattle's finest instructors for Jazz guitar. In addition to studying flamenco guitar in Barcelona with the world-renowned Pedro J. Gonzales, Ian is also is a practiced percussion and drums instructor, and trained vocalist. He regularly plays in clubs around Seattle, is frequently employed by local musical theater orchestras, and already teaches a vibrant studio in Northeast Seattle.

I have a six year background of teaching music, which overlaps with a six year background of working at and managing
a K-5 after school/summer daycare, so I can especially excel at getting the best out of young students, but love to teach all ages.

*** Lesson Details ***
Depending on your age, experience and musical aspirations, lessons will be approached from various angles. I have taught seven-year old girls to strum and sing Taylor Swift songs just as much as I have taught aspiring young jazz players their beginning standards and Jazz theory. I try to work music theory in to my lessons, and always assure that my young students have proper music reading skills. Ultimately my goal as a teacher is to have fun connecting and playing the music that my students are passionate about, while simultaneously attempting to introduce them to new concepts and music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Drum Sets, Guitars, Amps, Keyboard and more.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Various Acoustic and Electric Guitars, amps, Snare Drum, stands, etc. Drum sets, if necessary.

*** Specialties ***
Teaching Guitar and Drums/percussion to children. Jazz and Funk Guitar, Classic Rock, Musical Theater.

11 years of teaching and 20 years of playing experience. I specialize in composition and performance. I studied both at the Tacoma School of the Arts. Often times my composition jobs are completed with short deadlines: 72-hour film festivals, 48-hour film festivals, and so on. My performance experience includes having performed live over 100 times in the few years I've actually started performing seriously, for weddings, parties, bands etc.

About Bronson
I specialize in seeking and catching weaknesses in musicians and creating customized exercises to strengthen my students. My goal is not to have a star student that builds my reputation as a teacher but instead to have happy students that are satisfied with every lesson. I love questions and I love those "aha!" moments that my students encounter.
I feel most accomplished when my students show up to the lesson excited and ready to learn.
I used to be a driver for the United Parcel Service, but I quit for a career in music. This includes teaching, composing, doing studio work and perfo
rming around the Pierce and King County area. My compositions are found in a few radio commercials and state documentaries and my own, personal material found on my CDs (which will also be for sale when I am satisfied with it).
My music listening preferences include everything from Abba to Zappa, listening to every album Funk to Bach.
