Kameri M.

Spring Hill, TN

Kameri is a classically trained soprano who specializes in both teaching voice (classical or contemporary) to adults and teenagers, and working with young beginners (piano, guitar, or general music) As her student, you can expect to learn in a stress-free environment as she identifies strengths and areas of growth in each of her students, equipping all individuals to reach personal goals which are set on the first day.

Kameri loves teaching because it is a combination of two of her favorite things, music and relating with people. She prides herself in creating a balance between teaching the fundamental techniques of music (such as basic theory/history, how to engage an audience, etc.) and working towards individual, tailored goals of each student.

About Kameri

Kameri is a classically trained soprano who enjoys teaching and singing all styles of music. (pop, music theater, bluegrass, early music, art songs, opera...to name a few) As her student, you can expect lessons to be fun and stress-free. Kameri loves working with students of all ages. She will teach you fundamental music techniques as well as how to be as expressive and creative as possible in order to deliver a unique performance to your audience. Kameri is finishing her M.Ed. in Music Education from Aquinas College and holds her B.M. in Music Therapy from Florida State University

No matter your age or skill level, my goal is to help you succeed and have a great time along the way! One of the amazing things about practicing music is that it is one of the few activities that engages both the left and the right brain at the same time! With that in mind, my teaching places equal importance on developing both strong technique, and creativity. Students learn all the basics of music while spending time developing strong ensemble skills and background knowledge of style and repertoire so they may enjoy music in a variety of settings, all their lives!

Children: (guitar, piano, or general music)
I approach teaching music by knowing and understanding the student's musical goals and teaching the basics of music theory and technique through the style(s) of music that the student wants to learn. Beginners will learn basic techniques and chords through simple songs in order to be able to play music as quickly as possible...because hearing yourself make a good musical sound is he best motivator!

Voice Students (starting in 5th grade):
Weather you would like voice lessons to prepare you for that big audition or would just like to learn to sing for your own enjoyment, you are in the right place. No matter what skill level the student, I know it is important as a teacher to be encouraging and constructive, always doing my best to point out good sound in my students while taking note of areas of need. I strive to teach at a high level so my students become not only great performers, but quality musicians. In addition, I believe students excel most when singing music that they enjoy, so I make it a strong point to incorporate a balance of both student and teacher repertoire selections.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room studio with piano, guitars, and seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have guitars, a keyboard, music stand, and a library of sheet music available for my students although I do require students to practice at home on their own personal guitar or keyboard/piano. Students will also be required to purchase necessary piano/guitar/voice books/music needed for lessons.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching children's guitar, piano, and general music (adapted for special needs if needed), and classical voice (5th grade and up).

My lessons experience was very helpful and fun.

I am SO glad that Kameri was the teacher I chose to take voice lessons with. She was incredibly kind, encouraging, and helpful as she taught me the aspects of singing that I wanted to learn. She always stayed in communication with me, making sure that we were still able to meet for lessons and being willing to switch practice days if needed. The lessons were a ton of fun and we laughed a lot when something "embarrassing" or weird happened. I felt very comfortable with her and would recommend her to anyone else looking to take lessons in the music fields she teaches. I wish I could afford to take more lessons because it was very enjoyable! Thanks Kameri for a great couple of months of voice lessons and for all your great advice! I definitely needed the push and encouragement. (:

Professional singing and instrumental voice techniques.

Whether you’re just a beginner in school or wanting to supplement your songwriting with a better voice, singing lessons offer training for the voice as an instrument. Learn correct breathing, how to sing in tune and on pitch, find and extend range, get a quality sound and learn the fundamentals of music in general. (These lessons are similar yet different to “vocal training” lessons. If your looking for more vocal performance techniques such as on stage performance enhancement, repertoire choice and improving singing performance, visit the “Vocal Training” lessons tab for more information.)

As with all the lessons I teach, being comfortable in the lesson and with your craft is crucial for making great music! Lesson are customized for each students needs and goals preparing a plan that is enjoyable, fun and motivating.

Dustin is a great teacher! I wasn't sure how it would be taking lessons online especially since I do not have a background in music and I'm learning the sax for the first time. He has made learning fun and easy. I can already play a song! He is very knowledgable and providing me with music theory as well. Highly recommend!

Dustin is a great teacher. I have always had difficulty with ear training ever since I started formally studying music. Dustin did a great job of breaking it down and incorporating skills you already have. Highly recommended.

Sarah was a fantastic teacher!
I am 22 years old and have never had a singing lesson before, although I previously played the saxophone and piano and therefore had some musical background. During our 5 lessons I had more fun than I could have imagined while learning important skills regarding warming up, breath support, and stylistic choices while singing. She helped me get over my nerves and not feel so silly singing in front of others - something I've always felt self-conscious about. I would absolutely recommend Sarah to any adult wishing to learn how to sing!

WOW - you guys read my mind so let me start with saying my teacher Alan is TERRIFIC - and I do mean TERRIFIC - when I first met him I felt so comfortable - his way of teaching is very patient and informative. Alan has a method of teaching that allows you to absorb valuable information while learning a skill. He makes the lessons simple and fun. Alan gives you the opportunity to learn at your own pace and that's wonderful for mature students that wish to learn something new. If I could - I would let everyone know that there is a chance to experience your musical dream - Just take a chance as a matter of fact take a Lesson.

Nothing but good things to say about Jacob! I came to him as a drummer wanting to sing background vocals. From the very first lesson Jacob made me feel very comfortable and at ease. It's hard in my opinion to teach an instrument that is non tangible but Jacob does it in a way that is easy to follow. He is very knowledgeable but can break things down so even a drummer can understand. :)

Jacob was amazing! The best vocal coach I've found in Nashville! He understand the voice and how the vocal cords work in a way that I have never seen from other teachers. He makes the most out of every second we have together in our lesson which is important because I've had teachers who waste time or don't really give me 100% of their attention in lessons which can be so frustrating. Jacob is VERY present and attentive to every little detail. We've also done Skype lessons when I've been on the road which has been very helpful.

I've had quite a few vocal teachers over the years, and Jacob is the best.

This is not an exaggeration-- it's the God's honest truth. Jacob is a friendly, personable guy with a TON of education and training himself on the subject of singing and vocal instruction, and is not only a great singer himself, but a great teacher.

Within 2 lessons, I already noticed a marked difference, that ALSO not an exaggeration. This guy is the real deal, and I'd pay twice his rate to keep taking form him.
