I can teach beginners up to intermediate, and can teach most styles, except for slap bass.
Hello fellow and future musicians, and thanks for checking out my profile! To tell you a little about myself, I was exposed to music at a very young age since my dad was a musician. I first picked up the drums at the age of 5, and took piano lessons for a year when I was 6. I later played the saxophone in 4th grade, and finally discovered the guitar when I was 9. (Ironic since my dad is a guitarist and the guitar was around the house forever!) He showed me my first chords and really got me started on the instrument, and I played in several local bands in high school playing a range of musical styles from rock, blues, funk, and reggae. I really didn't take music seriously until I was in college, and began studying under Jerry Coelho, a member of the very first graduating class of the ...

I have been playing bass guitar for 16 years and have experience with jazz (big band and combo), pit orchestra, folk, pop, and rock settings. Our first lesson will begin with a quick assessment of your musical background, experience with the instrument, and your musical goals. Your next lessons will build on that foundation to support the goals you want to achieve.
Whether it's starting a band with friends, getting stronger on technique, or learning how to play in a new style or genre, we'll work together to reach your goals!
I love music and believe in its ability to bring people together. It's been a part of my life since I was 5, practicing piano at home in Michigan. Music was a big part of every single one of my school years, and I was lucky enough to be able to double major in music and psychology at Kalamazoo College once I graduated from high school. My passion for music has taken me abroad, to London, where I studied Western & Russian art music and took classes in popular music studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London. It spurred my move across the country to New York, where I developed a better understanding of how important creativity is to all of us -- especially musicians! -- at Teachers College, Columbia University. And, most importantly, it's allowed me to do what I love ...
The bass guitar is probably the most overlooked instrument in the traditional rock band. I will help you understand how to play tastefully and to groove with a drummer. You never want to be in the way; you're there to make everyone else sound good (they probably won't without you!).
Hi everyone! I'm a hard-working musician with a background in live performance, songwriting, composition, and home recording. I want to help you perform the music you love, whether you're playing to your family, your webcam, or a 15,000 seat arena. I have been teaching private music lessons since 2007. I am a graduate of UCSD, where I completed my bachelor's degree in music theory and composition. I have taken years of private lessons, played bass, guitar, and mandolin in local and touring bands, and released three albums of original music. I want to make your goals accessible. *** Lesson Details *** I focus on making lessons fun for my students. I emphasize the importance of practicing on your own and building confidence by performing live and/or writing your own songs. I love ...
I've been playing the bass guitar for 12 years and have performed in bands in and around San Diego for several years. I focus on the fundamentals of electric bass performance for beginning students and then move on to lessons specifically tailored to students' needs. My lesson plans focus on song performance and use the songs as an avenue to discuss overall bass technique.
I have been teaching and performing in the San Diego area for many years and have used that experience to develop lessons for any level of player. My program emphasizes all around musicianship in addition to technical ability. Being a musician is more than simply learning repertoire. I help my students get the skills needed to be capable, independent performers. While studying at UCSD, I was awarded double honors for my work in Guitar Performance and Composition. In 2010, I was given awards for "Most Outstanding Graduating Senior" and "Outstanding Classical Music Performance". In January of this year, my latest ensemble piece "Bell Music" was given its premiere in Zurich, Switzerland by Ensemble TaG. *** Lesson Details *** While I am a very easy going teacher, I do require dedication ...
My number one instrument and first musical true love :)
I began playing trumpet at age 9, guitar at age 12, and bass at age 16. While I am a serviceable trumpet player, I found my true loves in guitar and bass and perform almost exclusively on those instruments today. I played in my high school Jazz and Concert bands, as well as rock bands outside of school. I followed my passion for music to college, where I graduated with Honors from the rigorous Music program at Roosevelt University in Chicago, with a bachelors degree in music performance. I focused on Jazz, but did learn classical theory and harmony as well. Throughout college I earned income teaching lessons, and continue to this day, giving me over 12 years teaching experience. I perform professionally for a variety of bands in many genres, and write music for my own ...
