MUSIC: Ever since I was 4 years old (15 years now), I have been practicing, preforming, and practicing piano, violin, and music theory. Twice a week I have had the privilege of taking piano and violin lessons from skilled teachers who strive to provide me with the best guidance with music. I have been having a blast teaching piano, violin, and theory to students from ages 4-74 since 2009. Over the course of teaching, I have had around 30 students come and go. No matter what stage of life you are in, you can always benefit from learning music and surrounding yourself around music. Many students who start out with the Suzuki Method eventually quit because they find that they just aren't having any fun playing the violin. I find that this is because students don't get the chance to learn what they want to learn beyond the basic Suzuki books. My method of teaching allows students to take what they learn from Suzuki books and apply them to songs that they want to learn- including songs found in popular movies, television, video games, and radio.
I am a violin player that has been playing for 8 years. I played for my high school's award-winning varsity orchestra and have had years of private lessons from musicians at Baylor University. While in high school I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and worked as a counselor for an after-school care program, both of which gave me leadership experience in working with children and young adults. I am now a freshman at the University of Texas at San Antonio where I am studying Business Administration and still continue to play violin for various events.
