About Nick

***About Me*** Music is almost more than a passion for me, it's how I hear the world! That guy singing the harmony to the crosswalk jingle? That's me. Though my love for music began long before I ever picked up an instrument, I began taking guitar lessons at age 10. By age 12 I was writing music and by 13 I played my music at my first talent show with my band. In high school I started studying piano and voice, and performed with the Guitar Program, Jazz Ensemble and Men's Choir. I played solo and with multiple bands, playing rock, acoustic, jazz, rock, metal and classical guitar. After High School I spent a year studying music at University of Oregon. Though I enjoyed my time at U of O, I left the next year and moved to Boston to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, ...

My 9 year old told me Nick is the best piano teacher ever. He loves going to his lessons and is progressing nicely I think. When my son goes off on a tangent or wants to talk about the billion things going on in his head at the moment, Nick is super patient and gently steers him back on track.

About Hannah

I'm a college graduate who is enthusiastic about education!

Kaiti H. Dundee, OR

I have seven years of experience teaching piano, from ages ranging from four years old to adults. I use three books from the "Faber & Faber" curriculum, which work together to ensure a rich learning experience: Theory, Lesson, and Performance.

The Theory book will teach principals and theories of music in general in addition to the principles and theories specific to the piano. The Lesson book puts the principals from the Theory book to use in simple, constructive songs that reinforce what they've just learned. The Performance book builds further on the first two books, showing the peek performance of what has been learned in designated sections of each book.

My experience as a elementary and preschool teacher has shown me that everyone learns differently. My goal is to get to know my students individually so that I can adapt the curriculum in a way that is most beneficial to how they learn and to their specific playing style.
Everyone enjoys doing something in which they ...

It is my goal to bring out the inner musician in each of my students by supplying them with knowledge and confidence so that they can truly enjoy playing the piano and excelling at it. Please don't hesitate to drop me a note so we can chat about lessons. If my availability doesn't match up with your schedule, please let me know and I'm sure we can work something out. Looking forward to hearing from you !
